Ghost in the Machine (Corwint Central Agent Files)

by C.E. Kilgore

“Love is like a wormhole. You stumble on to it blindly, it sucks you in and takes you somewhere completely unexpected. You can’t fight it, because that would tear your ship apart. You can’t control it, either. All you can do is set your thrusters on glide and let it take you where it’s going to take you.”

Going against the rules of her Vesparian Sisterhood, which seeks to keep its entire existence a secret, Orynn is thrown into the open by a request for help that she could not refuse. Seeking to reconcile past mistakes and gain a forgiveness she feels she does not deserve, the control over her empathic abilities is put to the test when the darkness that lives within her spirit threatens to once again destroy any piece of happiness that she allows herself to find.

As a Mechatronic Automaton, Ethan defines his world through a set of logically defined values and understandings. Encountering Orynn throws his system out of balance as he tries to decide if he should trust the feelings he is developing, or if he should follow the logic telling him that she is trying to control him for some unknown purpose. Should he keep her at a distance despite his want to bring her near, or should he follow the heart he swears he does not have? As his understanding of her develops, he begins to question all of his preconceived notions about both himself and the universe around him.

In his attempts to capture the Vesparian prey he has been hunting after for two decades, the First Commander of the Xen’dari fleet will stop at nothing and track Orynn to the ends of the universe. On a path of vengeance for a past he can’t let go of, he will do everything in his power to burn her world down around her feet until nothing is left but ash and the bitter taste of regret.

Ghosts of the past clash with hopes for the future in this first book of the series, set in a universe where nothing is as it seems at first glance and trust is a highly priced commodity.

Defying Fate – Two Tales of the Warden

by DL Morrese

This is not your typical epic adventure story. It is a humorous and thought provoking tale of a young man’s quest to find himself and save his country.

Together at last, The Warden Threat and The Warden War are now available in one volume exclusively for Kindle. Defying Fate is an enjoyable science fiction parody of epic fantasy adventure stories. Set on a planet much like earth, this tale follows the exploits of Prince Donald of Westgrove as he discovers that the true nature of the threat to his kingdom is not what his father, the king, believes it to be. With the assistance of his cynical guide, a goodhearted bodyguard, a beautiful messenger, and a couple of ancient androids, he tries to prevent three nations from going to war.

Technically science fiction, Defying Fate is almost an anti-fantasy, which pokes a fair, or perhaps an unfair amount of good-natured fun at the serious tone and dependence on magic common to many epic fantasy adventure novels. Often insightful and frequently funny, it is sure to appeal to readers of these genres who may be looking for something fresh and different.

by David Bischoff

and brand new —

“This trilogy is right dead in the center of one of my favorite genres, with sub-genre. It’s sort of a military space opera with techno-thriller, romance, alien interaction and comedy rolled together. Laura is a hotshot blip-ship pilot who through techno-augmentation can do things no natural human is capable of doing, yet she has some impulse control issues which seem to land her in trouble a lot. There is a borderline alcoholic pirate captain who is trying to drown hidden demons yet pursue a quest he barely understands for the betterment of the Galaxy.
There is of course an oppressive big brother type government which attempts to capture, torture, do lots of shady things and behave like corporations. The writing style and format are such that it is not a door stopper and I found it enjoyable to read. I totally recommend this trilogy because I like it and it rocks.”

Star Hounds, the classic space adventure series in print once again after more than 25 years. And for the first time, all three original novels in one single omnibus, plus a new forth book that continues the adventure into the new millennium!

A woman with an impossible mission: to rescue her beloved brother, the most brilliant physicist of the Galactic Federation, from the clutches of alien invaders, the Jaxdron. To succeed, Laura must gain control of a top-secret Mark XT ?blip-ship?. And to do that, she is forced into an uneasy alliance with the notorious space pirate, the bitter, cynical Captain Tars Northern.

Galactic Warriors ? A Universe Torn By War ? Is he just her captain, or is there more to their relation? And what of the moody and dangerous alien Shon’till’s search for his lost race, the Frin?ral? Clues emerge when a Frin?ral derelict is discovered floating adrift. The alien spacecraft may reveal what happened to the mysterious Frin’ral? that is, if the Starbow and its crew survive its deadly secrets.

The Macrocosmic Conflict ? Duel Across the Galaxy ? (Book 3): Laura Shemzak and Tars Northern continue their fight against an odious Federation, which succumbs to the vile machinations of its leader, Arnal Zarpfrin. Together Laura and Tars continue a crusade of justice against both the Federation and Jaxdron locked in a bizarre apocalyptic war. But as they fight on, a new ally is discovered. Strange beings, the Aspach, emerge from the ashes of Northern?s past and offer clues about the Starbow and the puzzle of its creation.

The Planet Killer – The Classic Series enters NOW Space ? (Book4): Laura Shemzak is still hot and ready to party…. But with her handsome brother Calspar? Uhm, time to cool those rockets! ‘If you can handle somewhat graphic scenes of violence, sex, and love the zombie genre, this book will be right up your alley.’
-Indie Book Blog Database

“Wow is about all I can say to start off this review. This series of books was well written and very easy to follow, but boy is it a bit vulgar at times. The author tended to focus on the blood, sex, and violence aspect that sometimes goes along with these types of stories quite a bit more than what I was expecting. From what I can gather these stories were originally released one at a time, but have been collected for easier reading. It’s a good thing too, because once you start reading you’ll find yourself wanting to see what new atrocities might be committed without having to search out the next installment. Our starring character is Omar. Not really a good for nothing type of guy, but not really one that is on the upswing of his life when the zombies come calling. The plague began overseas in the Europe area with the rest of the world watching through videos uploaded to the internet by soon to be victims. Omar was an avid follower of these videos until their end and has been mentally preparing himself for when it’s his turn.
Flash forward a bit and now the dead have started coming back in the good old USA and after making a pivotal decision, Omar is off and running on his cross country massacre just ahead of the newly risen dead….”

Joel Magnolia is an 18-year-old Graduate Student at Columbia University’s Center for Nanotechnology in New York City.

With the help of his roommate Sang, Joel designs molecule-sized robots that, when used in their billions, can be injected into soldiers in order to enhance their performance, and repair battlefield damage.

After humiliating himself in front of her, Joel becomes unexpectedly entangled in a series of paranormal episodes.

Protesting the use of soldiers as guinea pigs, Joel injects himself with the Nanobot solution and unknowingly becomes THE PSYCHOPOMP.

At first, he begins to see strange auras around people. He dismisses the auras as side effects of the nanobots, but eventually learns to understand this energy field and control it. This ability makes him extremely valuable to the Department of Defense, and they plan a special operation with him as the key player.

The only problem is he has to kill someone he admires.

With the help of Sang and Maria, THE PSYCHOPOMP dives head first into a political, paranormal typhoon of global, even universal proportions, as he tries to prevent a hostile force from controlling his country’s seat of power.
