**Acclaim for the Novels of J.R. Rain**

“Gripping, adventurous, and romanticâ??J.R. Rain’s The Lost Ark is a breakneck thriller that traces the thread of history from Biblical stories to current-day headlines. Be prepared to lose sleep!”
â??JAMES ROLLINS, international bestselling author of Altar of Eden and The Doomsday Key

“I enjoyed this immensely. The protagonist, Samantha Moon, is a female vampire with a husband and children. Those predate her condition; six years ago she was attacked by a vampire and rendered into one. Now she’s trying to carry on with family and private eye business, and she’s a feisty, skilled person, so is doing mostly okay. It is not a horror story; she buys animal blood to eat and doesn’t generally prey on humans. But her husband has an increasing problem with her coldnessâ??not of spirit, but of body. ‘You sicken me and scare the hell out of me,’ he tells her. ‘And when I touch you it’s all I can do to not gag.’ She replies, ‘Words every wife wants to hear.’ I love this! What makes it special are her character and nature.”
â??PIERS ANTHONY, New York Times bestselling author of A Spell for Chameleon and On A Pale Horse

“Dark Horse is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! A great classic detective story with a modern twist. Unique and interesting characters (I think I’m half in love with Jim Knighthorse now!), a great plot that kept me guessing until the end, and some of the funniest lines I’ve read anywhere.”
â??GEMMA HALLIDAY, author of Deadly Cool and Play Dead

“Impossible to put down. J.R. Rain’s Moon Dance is a fabulous urban fantasy.”
â??APRIL VINE, author of The Midnight Rose and Blindfolded by Lust

“Moon Dance is absolutely brilliant!”

Project 14: The Legend of Beelzebub’s Bluff

by Grant Kauffman

“Day 13, Entry One:
No sleep last night, again. There are several reasons for this, but it is partly because the purpose of my mission continues to elude me. I know it’s down here somewhere, but sadly, my greatest discovery must wait until next time. If I even make it out of here alive. Whatever is in this cave system with me is closer than it has been in a while. What a ghastly growl it generates. It’s guttural and wetâ??simply awful. I don’t have much energy leftâ?? I need to dig deep. I will stop and write again in a few hours, during my first rest. Until then, Paul”

Every town has its secrets, though some aren’t supposed to be uncovered. Paul Redman knew all about the secret just south of Henley, Texasâ??the one locals won’t talk about, the one tourists can’t shut up about. It’s located along a stretch of river, near an anomaly in the Texas terrainâ??an impressive, yet ominous rock formationâ??known to locals as Beelzebub’s Bluff.
It was a secret that Jon Clayton knew as well, which explained his nervousness as he closed the leather-bound journal of Paul Redman and glanced up at his three children sitting around the campfire. His oldest, daughter Skylar, and sons, Noah and Cade, are accompanied by their best friends, Kyra and Timmy Garza. The children soak in every detail of their favorite camping story. It’s the same one Jon and his childhood friend, Danny Garza, have been reading to the kids for years. Every year they come to this place, the campgrounds just outside Henley, the place where Paul Redman was last seen alive over thirty years ago. Soon, the kids will crawl into their tents and will drift off into a deep slumber under a star-filled Texas sky, never imagining the following morning they will stumble upon the extraordinary secret that consumed Paul Redman. By daybreak, the security of the children’s sheltered lives will be shattered forever.

If you die in the small town of Big Rapids in the wintertime, it’ll cost you more to be buried because they use dynamite to soften the soil. Additionally, the city charges by the square foot for burial plots, so it pays to be short. The biggest employer in Big Rapids, Michigan is Ferris State University. Because of the extreme weather conditions, professors that are more like mountain men than professors are recruited from faraway remote places like Alaska. Of course, a third of the freshman class suffer from isolation sickness. Most first year students drop out before the start of their second semester and the students that do stay refer to Ferris State University as “The Overlook Hotel.” Need a place to stay while you’re in Big Rapids? Head over to and the Badger will direct you to a three story Queen Anne on Rust Avenue. You’ll find Rust Avenue situated in the historic district a couple of blocks north of the Big Boy restaurant. The homes there are reminiscent of another time, another place. Behind locked doors live judges, mayors, scientists and the grandson of Professor Bessie Pavlovich. He sleeps during the day and works the night shift at the Zanderdelli mushroom farm. He doesn’t have a car. He walks to work. He’s single. And he’ll rent you a room in his grandmothers Queen Anne for only forty bucks a night. “I need something, anything, and I need it now,” says the grandson of Bessie Pavlovich. Of course, that “something” is on its way. Written by world-class humor writer Norm Augustinus, Bedbadger is a tragically entertaining read that will move you through a gamut of emotions. Highly recommended for anyone that appreciates humor.

Eager to avoid publicity, au-thorities dismiss her death as an accident. Days later, when the body of college drop out, Jamie Sherman, a neighbor to Wirth, is discovered adrift in his fishing skiff, investigators suspect foul play, but the Medical Examiner reports that the youth died of a drug overdose. Only Detective James Raker, upon hearing McAllister’s complaints of unauthorized trading in his deceased wife’s account, suspects the two deaths are related. Bucking his superiors, Raker plunges into an investigation and quickly discovers that at least four members of the affluent lakeside commu-nity had motive and opportunity in either one or both of the deaths. Raker’s pursuit slams headlong into an investigation being conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) who were closing in on Jamie Sherman’s drug dealings in the affluent neighborhood. Ignoring the orders to back off, Raker fears that the killer will strike again and races to prevent it. The killer does strike for a third time but, tragically, claims the wrong victim. The story is set in the fictitious bed-room community on Heron Lake, NC, a short commute from Charles City, a metropolitan area of more than 1,000,000 and the financial center of the state.

No Cure for Baldness?

by Paul Wojnicki

Skin is not a hairstyle!
Balding paranoiac Paul Hisky doesn’t take the revelation that he’s losing his hair graciously at all. So upset is he at this travesty of genetic fate that he immediately embarks upon a gruelling regimen of crackpot treatments that has a 68% chance of reviving his ailing follicles and a 2% chance of him growing female breasts.
But funding this expensive array of treatments isn’t going to be easy and before long Hisky finds himself embroiled in prostitution, embezzlement and tobacco smuggling, as he desperately tries to halt the relentless march towards disfiguring baldness.
No Cure for Baldness is a hysterical account of one man’s attempts to cling to his last wispy strands of dignity. But it’s more than a novel about hair loss, it’s a satirical indictment on modern society’s obsession with image and the ridiculously expensive lengths we will go to halt the ageing process. Guys will read it and weep, for this is their prophesy, girls will stop smirking the next time they’re queuing behind a gleaming dome of skin and have some compassion.

It must be Hard? (Laugh out loud adventures of Trevor (Try) Hard)

by Pat O’Driscoll

Try sat patiently waiting – for his own wedding day.

Cold sweat sprung out from his brow as he glanced up at the kitchen clock, terrified that while he had been down the cellar for no more than a few minutes, it may have spun around another hour and that he would be running late already. Clocks had a habit of doing this to Try. He would be patiently sitting down, completely prepared for a perfectly timed event, and then, like that story about the hare and tortoise, he would get up and do a little job to fill in the time, only to find out that all of a sudden he was now late.
Or was it a porpoise?
Thankfully, the clock had maintained its steady pace, and he still had at least an hour to go before he had to leave. Everything, apart from his shoe, which now had a staple sticking into his big toe, was meticulously planned and on track.
â??Don’t be daft,’ said Logic, â??a porpoise is a fish, isn’t it? A hare wouldn’t race against a fish would it?’
â??It might!’ argued Sceptic. â??Maybe it was a race along the riverbank?’
â??I’m not sure porpoise live in rivers?’
â??Well, perhaps it was at the seaside, and the fish swam in the shallows while the hare ran along the cliff?’
â??No. Pretty sure it was a tortoise,’ said Logic, nodding his head. There was a bland silence in Try’s brain for a few seconds until Sceptic said:
â??A bit unfair, isn’t it? I mean, your average tortoise isn’t going to catch a bloody hare, is it? Unless it had a turbo-engine or something?’
â??It was just a story, Sep. Just a kid’s story.’
â??No bloody wonder all the kids are confused then, if someone tells them a crustacean can outrun one of the fastest creatures on earth. What a load of nonsense! Who writes this stuff?’
More hilarious adventures of Trevor – TRY -Hard. This time he is getting married to the fearful Mimosa, a Polish immigrant, but when they move into a small suburban house, Try’s gardening exploits get rather interesting.
Are frogs supposed to be that colour?
And why has his neighbour got a loaf of bread on her head?
Anyway, what are all those weeds in the greenhouseâ?¦..?

If â?¦ you secretly look forward to funerals so you can eat chocolate pie, deviled eggs and ham, secretly believe RC Cola and Moon Pies are part of the food pyramid, and wish Paula Deen had kept her mouth shut ’cause you really like her mac and cheese, Grits & Grace & God might be your kind of book.

If â?¦ you think God is calling you to evangelize the North (even though you’re still not fond of Yankees), wish folks would stop moving to the South but can’t blame for wanting to come, and know Jesus is real, God is great, and sometimes life can be down right tough on a body â?¦

â?¦ You might enjoy the practical insights and spiritual lessons found in Grits & Grace & God: Manna from Heaven Served Up Southern Style.

In Grits & Grace & God, Martin Wiles offers spiritual truths and shows how God can take our financial challenges, loses and setbacks and dish out blessings from scrapes.

The Perfect Puppy Trainer: Your guide to your new best friend.

by Kim Dahlin

Kim Dahlin has been an active dog breeder and trainer for the last 20 years. She purchased her first dogs from Liz Vargo, a dog show Judge since the early 1990s, and began an organized breeding and training program. She has been in love with puppies and dogs ever since.

Soon after her first litter of puppies, Kim realized that dog and training was an area that most people had no experience in. And when they did have experience, it was generally not very good. There are many dog books out there, but many are so commercialized that it is hard to sort the relevant info from the sales pitches. Kim told us that, “Generally people have great concerns about potty training and obedience training and they don’t know where to start. They have so many questions and there is no one to answer them”.

So after consulting with hundreds of dog owners, trainers and handlers over the years, she decided to take her puppy training notes and condense them into an easy to read and understandable book about your puppy. She hopes it will help you with the journey you and your new friend are about to take.

The Perfect Puppy Trainer: Your guide to Your New Best Friend is a concise and easy to understand book on dog training. Kim Dahlin does a wonderful job of making dog training easy and fun. She gives her insight into potential training problems and helps you avoid the pitfalls of dog training.
This book contains the all-important basic knowledge of the ups and downs of dog training and gives you the commonsense instructions to be successful in training your dog.

You will learn

  1. How to prepare for your new puppy
  2. How to select a good breeder and puppy
  3. Items you will need for your Puppy
  4. Potty Training
  5. Training

And much more!

Your puppy is your new friend. He or she is depending on you to provide for them and if you do, they will give you love and affection for years to come. Being the owner of a puppy or dog is a big responsibility. Kim hopes that the information in this book will help guide you along the way and help you to make informed choices regarding your puppy. Welcome to the wonderful life of a growing puppy!

If you are looking for puppy training kindle books or dog training kindle books, this book will be of great value to you as you begin your journey with your new best friend.

Unfit and overweight at the age of 58 in 2002, Mary set off with her partner Warren to cycle round the world. They cycled for 2 years through 15 countries and 3 continents without backup or support, through areas not usually visited by tourists. Travelling through Europe, Asia and Australia with heavily-laden bicycles (including camping gear), they cycled 9000 miles before their trip was tragically cut short. From France to Turkey, India to Sri Lanka, Japan and Burma to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, from Thailand to Australia – all are described in detail and with humour. Their journey proved that anyone with a dream can make it a reality.
Illustrated with colour photos.Several simple recipes are also included, which were collected on their travels, so that readers can enjoy them too.

“The book is so well written, and details of places, people, animals, plants and scenery are brilliantly described. I felt I was there without the hassle of having to do the journey for myself.”

“I had trouble putting the book down. I found it so much of an escapism from everyday life reading about your travels and adventures. You described everything with so much clarity and detail. I felt I was with you every step/cycle pedal revolution of the way.”

“Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. It was so descriptive that I felt I was travelling alongside the author, and there are lots of amusing anecdotes. Would definitely recommend this book.”

“This book was very interesting with exactly the right amount of information on each place visited. A very good read.”

“I think Mary Bryant is up there with Josie Dew, Anne Mustoe. So far I love it.”

“Very descriptive book giving you the highs and lows of travelling. I felt as if I was with them sometimes.”

“This was bought as a birthday present and was well received. Had a sneaky look myself and found it very interesting.”

“My congratulations and thanks for sharing your tale with us in â??Four Cheeks to the Wind’. A thoroughly enjoyable read that you took us along as if we were with you. One of the best travel tales, if not the best, that I have read.”

“Well done on your wonderful, enjoyable book.”

“I have loved reading your book. What a wonderful adventure you both had.”

“I have very much enjoyed reading about your travels at the rate of a few pages of the book a day. It has an appealing freshness of vision and I am struck by your thoroughness in recording your memories.”

“I didn’t start it until last weekend, but then I couldn’t put it down.”

“Mary’s account of her transcontinental bike ride is packed with fascinating facts, anecdotes and photographs of the exotic places and people encountered en route. Worth its place on the armchair traveller’s bookshelf.”

by M. Anderson

Are you prepared to survive in a shelter-in-place emergency situation?

Well, are you? If you are, pat yourself on the back. You’re a step ahead of most people. The average citizen turns a blind eye to disaster preparedness and is largely unprepared to handle all but the most minor of emergency situations.

Dragon Sim-13 (The Green Beret Series)

by Bob Mayer

*****Publishers Note: Updated Edition November 2011*****

From Publishers Weekly
Mayer follow up Eyes of the Hammer with a pulsing techno-thriller set in June 1989. As Chinese students are dying in Tiananmen Square, the U.S. stages Dragon SIM-13–a routine computer exercise involving a simulated Special Forces raid on a Chinese oil pipeline. But the program has been written by Doctor Meng, a refugee determined to strike a blow against his onetime tormentors in Beijing, and Sgt. Dave Riley and his Green Beret A-team find themselves actually in China, confronting disaster when a helicopter crash leaves half the men stranded in hostile territory. Mayer, an expert on special warfare operations, convincingly presents a situation in which no one in authority can quite believe the sudden connection between computer screens and real life. He equally successfully demonstrates how lower-echelon uncritical obedience to orders can make sense individually but add up to absurdity. The book’s greatest strength, however, is its story line. In particular, the final rescue mission–featuring a hotshot female helicopter pilot–is a nail-biter in the best tradition of adventure fiction.
Copyright Reed Business Information, Inc.

From Library Journal
Meng, a Chinese computer expert working for a top-secret American facility at Fort Meade, specializes in simulation activities for Special Forces. When he decides to make simulated Dragon SIM-13 real, the buttons he pushes set up an elaborate invasion of mainland China to destroy an oil pipeline. Captains Mitchell and Riley head the team flying in on two helicopters. When one of the helicopters crashes, the repercussions are enormous–no one in the States knows about a real invasion, except Meng; and very few in the Far East have any knowledge. A daring rescue by pilot Jean Long, wife of Mitchell, produces a climax with enough suspense and action to satisfy the most jaded of thriller fans. The author of Eyes of the Hammer delivers another rousing tale.

Against A Dark Shore

by Christopher Kenworthy

The hard-fought Anglo-American War of 1812 has ended.

And in its bitter aftermath, the merchant adventurer Matthew Milburn, born English but forced by circumstances to become an American, is desperately trying to repair his fortunes.

But fate is against him.

A chance remark at a Governor’s reception makes an enemy out of the influential Commander Anthony Craig.

Fleeing from Craig, Matthew runs into the first flaring of a slave uprising among the plantations of the Bahamas.

It needs only the challenge of the treacherous agitator de Gonaives, a Haitian bent on driving the British from the Bahamas, to involve Matthew and his crew in a desperate struggle to save an entrancing young girl and her family from a terrible fate.

And this beautiful haven is about to become a cold-blooded death trap.

Written against the sultry background of early 19th-century Caribbean, this is the fourth novel in the continuing story of Matthew and Son, the Savannah shippers.

‘Against A Dark Shore’ is the action-packed sequel to ‘In The Dark Of The Moon’ and ‘Ride The Dark Tide’: an enthralling adventure story set against the violent backdrop of 19th-century warfare and piracy.

It is perfect for fans of Bernard Cornwell, Alexander Kent, and CS Forrester.

“I could taste the salt and smell the wind on every page. A brilliant read.’ – Tom Kasey, best-selling author of ‘The Dante Code’.

Christopher Kenworthy was a journalist and novelist.

One Amber Bead

by Rebecca Thaddeus

World War II serves as the backdrop for a love story: the love among family members and friends, with the beginning and ending in Niedzieliska, Poland.For 52 years (1933-1985), we follow the lives of sisters Sofia and Bronislawa and, more especially, the growing friendship between their daughters, Evie and Jadzia. Rebecca Thaddeus calls upon her own Polish-American family’s lore to create a powerful and hypnotic portrait of these families and friends, presenting her readers with the savagery of Nazism contrasted with the sweetness of first love. Thaddeus brings us to Chicago as an up-and-coming young family learns to accept its Polish heritage amid the rebellions of the younger generations. Throughout the book, there is a subtle but persuasive message: Accept others and ourselves for who we and they are. In the end, we are left with sadness at having to shut the book on these strongly drawn characters, but with hopes that Rebecca Thaddeus will write at least one sequel.
â??Sharon Robideaux, co-author (with Eleanor Agnew) of My Mama’s Waltz

One Amber Bead is a rich, radiant story of two Polish cousins, whose lives diverge dramatically in the yellow wood of the 20th Centuryâ??Evie, who encounters the challenges of an immigrant’s daughter in Chicago, and Jadzia, who witnesses the devastation of her homeland during WW IIâ??and yet who find in that divergence a solidarity of humanity and compassion engendered in their shared heritage. Melding the best traditions of the epistolary novel, the historical novel, the family saga, and the romance, One Amber Bead glows with a unique hueâ??rich in story and detail, resplendent in the recognition of how our lives are both altered and remain the same, even through the turbulence of familial and cultural change.
â??Phillip Sterling, author of In Which Brief Stories Are Told

Rebecca Thaddeus’s One Amber Bead speaks to the hearts of all those Americans whose ancestors emigrated to this country at the beginning of the 20th Century. In her moving and compelling narrative, she captures our need to maintain our ties with those who were left behind.
â??John Guzlowski, author of Lightning and Ashes

The Road Less Travelled

A collection of contemporary poetry by new and undiscovered writers, based around the concept of the metaphysical. Within are presented poems that deal with all shades and subtleties of human existence; darkness, light, love, loss, death and rebirth, nature, and those often un-glimpsed moments of reality and dream. Poems that deal with the subtle interplays between the Human spirit, and the world in which we reside.

Presented as a homage to the metaphysical poets of the past, and indeed poetry itself, in craft, form, heritage, and the effect it has on the Human soul.

Except, after a minute or so, you do let him know of it, your absolute need and hastening.”

It’s On Now

by Lloyd Martin

This is the second book of poems published by Lloyd Martin. These inspirational works continue to encourage enlighten and advise. They will lead the lost home, the depressed comforted, and the tired relieved. these poems are particular relevant to our time and season and were written from a vantage point of an analysis and observer. These are not romantic poems, but the poet has enjoyed a kind of romance with words that could also have sharp edges, that can bleed the soul. while probably being critical of certain things, there is also the rallying call to straighten up and fly straight.

by David Derbyshire

Personal and general poems and verses in traditional and in modern styles, written by David Derbyshire in the last half of the 20th century and in the beginning of the 21st, touching on deep issues, and some in lighter vein, and even doggerel.

The Empty Cup

by Stefan G. Meyer

“I saw a woman, back turned to me, shoulders covered by the masses of her own dark hair. Suddenly, she turned round, and I saw that her face was wet with tears. And when she looked up at me with my own eyes, I saw that her sorrow was my sorrow, that her face was my face, that I had caused her sorrow and that she had caused mine, that the sorrow of the world was our sorrow, that the face of the world was wet with our tears, and that our tears filled the oceans and rivers, and came down in rain, and watered the world with sorrow.

“And the thing I regretted most was that I could not tell her of my sorrow. The wall stood between us, choking my words, rendering her gaze impenetrable, our bodies immobile. I walked away without speaking, as if silence could do justice to an ocean of feeling, as if cowardice could possibly be mistaken for strength, as if time would erase all memory, as if life were unreality, a fiction, a story that could easily be rewritten.

“And now I walk in the shadow of the wall, whose escarpment engulfs me like the towering cliffs of a canyon, and my own muteness cries out to me like a madman whose screams can be heard high above the wind, and my muteness mingles with the muteness of others, and my silence with theirs, and my screams with theirs, and I feel myself drowning in the silence of those screams, and I know it as a silence that encircles and enfolds us all.”

Daily Poetry with God’s Help

by Kenney Young

These poems are little segments of daily prayer…The book is set in a daily devotional type setting

Bubbaku is a collection of haiku poems for the more enlightened redneck. Many in the target audience would not be caught dead reading poetry, so it might be wise to keep this volume in the outhouse, or locked in the glove box of the pickup, to be read while waiting for the light to change.
Haiku, as all y’all know, is a Japanese poetry form consisting of three lines. There are some syllable rules for haiku, but they don’t apply to Bubbaku or to Bubbas–just like speed limit signs, calorie counters, born-on mason jar dates, and hunting and fishing restrictions. To give you an idea of what’s inside, check out the following:
bubbaku #1
sparkling Christmas lights
Labor Day weekend
never looked more festive
bubbaku #2
weddin’ day
special occasions
to wear the formal flannel
We had some fun with this, folks. We hope you will, too.

Pasi Spre Viata – Footsteps Toward Life

by Nick Laurentiu Nica

This volume contains 55 poems written by me within the period of 1999-2002. Some of them are in English, while the majority are in Romanian, and have a special dedication to some person. Most of the poems here were written out of pure inspiration, in the time period that I lived and worked in Constanta, Romania. Although I cannot affirm that I am a professional poet, I do admit that I had received the gift and talent to write, and these poems reflect the beginning of my works. They are my very first footsteps… toward life.

Not all the poems in this volume will be understood by all readers. I have chosen not to add much information because I was making this book a novel with poems. I do expect that some will misunderstand them, not understand them at all, or will make all kinds of remarks about me. I thank you all, in advance, for all of them – through this book.

Poetically Random

by T.W. Colvin

My Love affair with writing began with poetry. Through the Highs and lows of life I have found that writing poetry keeps me motivated, provides an outlet for every thought and emotion and makes the journey far more interesting. And since every day is filled with a balance of things planned and things unexpected I have a very eclectic collection that could only be called Poetically Random.

It is my mission to broaden the stage for the writers of Spiritual Writers Network, and that is why I run quarterly contests for publication. When the time came to announce the second quarter writing contest for publication, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the writers and poets of the site would benefit greatly from a poetry competition. For this contest, we received several wonderful submissions from many great poets, and this anthology is a collection of those poems.

I admire these poets for writing so openly about their emotions, life experiences, joys and hardships. It was such a pleasure to compile this anthology for them, and when choosing a theme for the book only one phrase came to mind — Reflections of the Soul. These writers have put their hearts and souls into these poems for you to enjoy. I hope you will find as much delight and admiration for this collection of works as I have.

Words to a Friend: Learning to Find and Live Your Truth (Process Poetry Series)

by Tobias Moore

In a world with more than 7 billion people, how do you find your identity – how do you find your truth? Television, radio, newspapers, internet, teachers, advertisements, parents, friends, and a million other sources tell you every day who you are, what you ought to be, and what you need to be doing – but is this you? In Words to a Friend: Learning to Find and Live Your Truth, I found my truth by going through a process of introspection, realization, and manifestation. I recognized the truth I was trained to accept, I found the truth I wanted to be, and I learned how to become that Truth. The poems in this collection capture the process I went through on this journey to self-realization: they are fun, quirky, insightful, pictographic, meandering, and perfect for the coffee table!

Free religious fiction Kindle books for 31 Jul 13

by Thomas Tan

They said that God didn’t exist. They said that the time for religion was over. If mankind was to progress, the human race had to be purged of superstitions. Like everyone else, Chelsea Shields believed the Lumen Corporation, even when they hunted the faithful to extinction. What did she care? She had no sympathy for fools and fanatics. But the grisly death of her brother was about to change all that. Freed from bondage and forced on the run, her only hope for salvation lies with three mysterious priests known as the Archangels. Armed with prayer, sacred rituals and a truckload of guns, these fugitives from the Underground Church vow to save her from the armies of Hell. But can she really trust these men to protect her? Surrounded by treachery and intrigue, and pursued by seven demons, she finds herself drawn into a world of despair. To survive the night, she has to confront her deepest fears. And do all she can to recover her faith before it’s too late.

League Of Angels is an adrenaline-pumping ride into the supernatural, combining heart-stopping action with mystical folklore and facts, truth and fiction to create a compelling tale of loyalty, faith, courage, and sacrifice.

Peril in Russia (Legends of the Lost Trail (Series))

by Vincent Kilbourne

Peril in Russia (part 1)

~~~All of us felt ten pounds heavier after being encrusted by the fall of the snow and just as Tim yelled aloud for us all to take a quick rest, the flurries finally stopped and we could actually see each other once again. We all helped to swipe the cold white powder from each other’s backs and shoulders to help lighten our loads.
It was very cloudy all around us, with five hours of daylight left. It felt good to see the increasing sunlight.
Suddenly the light became blinding. It was cold, crisp, and very bright now. I felt a bit of relief but secretly wondered how long this moment no snowfall would really last. Ken was the first to comment: “Well, this is a great sign guys, I knew our day would turn around.”
“Yeah, that’s the key word…turn around and go. If it starts to blizzard again we may not find a way back.” Greg declared…
Peril in Russia is the most detailed depiction of what happened after four American climbing professionals left the cottage at the base of Mount Elbrus. A fast-paced adventure story with many turns and twists.
Climate Change: Evidence, Impacts, and Choices
by Division on Earth and Life Studies
What is climate? Climate is commonly thought of as the expected weather conditions at a given location over time. People know when they go to New York City in winter, they should take a heavy coat. When they visit the Pacific Northwest, they should take an umbrella. Climate can be measured as many geographic scales – for example, cities, countries, or the entire globe – by such statistics as average temperatures, average number of rainy days, and the frequency of droughts. Climate change refers to changes in these statistics over years, decades, or even centuries.
 Enormous progress has been made in increasing our understanding of climate change and its causes, and a clearer picture of current and future impacts is emerging. Research is also shedding light on actions that might be taken to limit the magnitude of climate change and adapt to its impacts.
Climate Change: Evidence, Impacts, and Choices is intended to help people understand what is known about climate change. First, it lays out the evidence that human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels, are responsible for much of the warming and related changes being observed around the world. Second, it summarizes projections of future climate changes and impacts expected in this century and beyond. Finally, the booklet examines how science can help inform choice about managing and reducing the risks posed by climate change. The information is based on a number of National Research Council reports, each of which represents the consensus of experts who have reviewed hundreds of studies describing many years of accumulating evidence.
SharePoint Governance: Building Your Plan and Your Committee
by Lee Reed
As I began working with SharePoint as a Network Administrator I did not see the need to build a well-formed Governance plan. The Governance Plan always sounded like a good idea but took a backseat to other more crucial priorities. Fast forward 7 years and I make a great living going into organizations like yours and talking about what elements constitute an effective SharePoint Governance plan.
In this Kindle e-book, I share all of the common pitfalls regarding SharePoint I have seen in organizations I have worked with while providing you actionable tasks you can begin working through to address governance of your environment. In this book, I share the following:
– Why you need a Governance Plan for SharePoint.
– The Keys to building an effective Governance Plan.
– The makeup of your governance committee.
– Building a Governance Vision statement.
– The Roles and Responsibilities of Governance participants
– The Six Governance Committee Foundational Elements
– The first 12 things the Governance Committee needs to determine
– Questions to be answered to build your own governance policy around:
SharePoint Customizations, Document Storage, Information Architecture, Physical Architecture, Requirements Gathering, Support Expectations, User Adoption and Training, Search.
I hope that you find my book helpful. If you do, or you see how I can make this content even better, please leave a comment.
