After Surgery for Torn Knee Ligament, The First Four Weeks, Basic Edition

by Deborah Carroll CCRP CSCS

These successful homework guidelines are based on my having over 30 years experience in sport science and exercise program design, as well as based on much related research. This particular volume acts as a basic set of discharge instructions would, after diagnosis or suspicion of injury or immediately after surgery. Whether the injury or surgery was yesterday or last year, this booklet outlines a plan to begin and follow for four weeks, especially if better recovery has not been achieved after surgery. I have been in veterinary-based, companion animal rehabilitation for almost 10 years and have developed these guidelines for use in my mobile animal rehabilitation practice so that pet caretakers may practice them in the home environment to rehab their pets after injury and/or surgery. No special tools or equipment are needed for the majority of the exercises and drills I utilize on a daily basis and present in this book. You do need to be able to understand and follow instructions contained in this volume. I do my rehabilitation work in collaboration with veterinarians, and it is my strong suggestion that you do the same where a veterinarian is available. Thank you, on behalf of your pet, for taking this time to learn more about the healing methods available for them.

Affordable Plastic Surgery: Tips and Tricks for Plastic Surgery Holidays

by Sasha Moore

Each year thousands of women (and some men) travel to locations such as Brazil, Thailand, Korea, Malaysia and South Africa for low cost cosmetic plastic surgery. It’s no secret that procedures such as a facelift, breast implants, tummy tuck or liposuction are usually more affordable in these countries. As finance is often the issue, many people now choose medical tourism holidays so they can revive in the privacy of an exotic overseas country after having plastic surgery.

Plastic surgery is a major lifestyle decision at any time. However, low cost cosmetic surgery, particularly in some countries, has its own special risks.
Some people return home extremely happy because they have had good plastic surgery and look 15 years younger and/or have dropped one or two dress sizes. Others return home with “plastic surgery gone wrong” stories and wish they hadn’t been tempted by lower prices.

Read this ebook to discover how to:
– Decide whether plastic surgery overseas is right for you
– Select a qualified, trustworthy surgeon
– Finance your cosmetic surgery
– Question a plastic surgeon about the plastic surgery you want

101 Ways to Prevent Medical Errors – EBook Version

by Yinka Vidal

101 Ways to Prevent Medical Errors by Yinka Vidal is the report written subsequently to the IOM (Institute of Medicine) report of 1999, when the nation was alerted to the staggering numbers of medical errors killing patients. After many Congressional hearings in response to the IOM report, medical researchers were challenged to identify problems and find solutions to the issues of medical errors. After 24 years of investigating the causes of medical errors, designing and implementing solution strategies, this book offers a report that is helpful to hospitals across the nation to reduce medical errors and patients’ preventable deaths.

The book discusses the real problems of medical errors over-looked for years, not limited to systemic failures and root cause analysis. It discusses the human factors contributing to the genesis of systemic failures and other factors as challenges to solution design and the implementation of corrective actions. The report identifies over 100 issues associated with medical errors and the solution strategies to those operational failures.

The book is very valuable and useful to hospital CEOs, department heads, physicians, nursing directors, hospital technical managers, patients, and anybody in healthcare looking for effective solution intervention to systemic failures leading to mishaps and patients’ deaths. It educates patients how to help hospitals prevent mishaps by understanding the processes involved in care.

In addition to discussing systemic failures and solution interventions, the book also discusses other human factors responsible for sustaining systemic failures and how such issues can be addressed. The book is very unique because the report is generated directly from the frontline workers who are in the trenches working with patients. Many of the solution interventions therefore come from the frontline workers whose voices have been ignored in the past.

The report also exposes some other issues in hospitals never discussed, but have however amplified systemic failures. For example, it discusses the interdepartmental communication between employees and solution interventions. The report gives hints how such challenges can be successfully addressed to reduce medical errors and reduce lawsuits.

If you need tools to help you break through the hospital politics of quality improvement intervention, this book will be of great help.

“The most compelling book on how to solve and prevent systemic problems in hospitals by looking at the root causes and strategizing solutions.”
