Duck Dynasty: Faith and Togetherness

by Linda McClintock

Duck Dynasty is simple, funny, light hearted and always enjoyable.

Why so many people keep watching Duck Dynasty is because of something unique in the contemporary smorgasbord of contemporary television – the actual presence of real values.

These people are salt of the earth folks who simply love each other and receive all of life as a gift.

They also love God in a naturally supernatural way which is communicated without the necessity of words.

There are real, human, redemptive values on display in each episode as the family faces the raising of children, remaining faithful to their marriages and supporting one another in the rough and tumble of real life.

In addition, in almost every episode, they end with the extended family sharing a meal which begins with a heartfelt and sincere prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord.

In this day and age where ‘God’ is a bad word to say, they embrace their faith and share it with the world.

No wonder Duck Dynasty is one of the top shows on television today.

MANIFEST INJUSTICE MEALER v GM-GMAC, USDOJ 2009 (AMERICA SHRUGGED)

by J.L. Mealer

AMERICA SHRUGGED Vol II, MANIFEST INJUSTICE

This is a story of an automobile and self-contained power supply unit built by ARIZONA’S NEXT GOVERNOR (in one) that was not allowed to come into existence. It’s a true story, and I, John Lewis Mealer, am still alive, the courts have the documents on file and they are available to the public, albeit the GM sponsored judicial members have twisted and manipulated the story from start to finish -absolutely without a doubt- by order of the United States Department Of Justice.

What you are not reading about is a mysterious 100 mpg carburetor or some water to combustible fuel device that attaches to any vehicle where the so-called inventor is either missing, presumed dead or simply never existed. It’s not about YouTube videos of unknown and unverified origin promoting the investment for these devices. This is a true to life story of one larger automaker called General Motors Corporation (GMC), aka General Motors Automobile Corporation, aka, Motors Liquidation Company, aka General Motors LLC, aka General Motors Company LLC, aka General Motors Company, aka NGMCO Inc (“New General Motors Company Incorporated” as owned by the Treasury Department of the United States, IE. via US taxpayers) and what became of the United Auto Workers “UAW,” crushing the growth funding of a smaller automaker Mealer Companies LLC.

The highly unlawful actions by the larger company included the use of intra-company divisions such as General Motors Acceptance Corporation, aka GMAC Mortgage and many variations thereof, along with heavy handed help from the US Treasury and the final control and intentional crushing of the lawsuit by and through the USDOJ. The USDOJ played a pivotal role in killing the case that was gladly admitted to by every player in the defense of the crimes.

What you are about to read should anger you. It should make you wonder why or how this nation ever became this way. You may even find it hard to believe. Many innuendos come into play that may or may not be connected to the lawsuit and the GM-GMAC-USDOJ threats, but hundreds of people beyond this writer’s scope of knowing have suggested that nothing happens by coincidence and the facts are merely laid on the table.

Keep in mind: Everything concerning legal matters that you are about to read is in the public domain in pre-court and actual submitted legal documents, and has been admitted to by the defendants. Those who became the defendants in the lawsuit that evolved from the decimation of the Mealer Automobile (and electrical power-source provider) have admitted to intentionally destroying Mealer’s good name while committing trade libel. The Mealer family and to be honest, America as a solvent nation along with the world who depends on a strong USA, suffer to this day because UAW Big Labor and the GM Cabal acting as the Transnational Conglomerate along side of the government’s need for the huge cash cow of tax revenue from energy sources exercised their powerful reach and crushed the dreams and the solid plans of this underdog. Special note: You may find certain items and documents missing to favor the bigger party while making the Little Guy look poorly in the public eye.

ALSO, keep in mind, the defendants had already admitted all allegations multiple times.

Erika and Klaus Mann in New York: Escape from the Magic Mountain (Chicago Shorts)

by Andrea Weiss

This is the riveting tale of two brave nonconformists whose dramatic lives open up new perspectives on the history of the twentieth century. Thomas Mann’s two eldest children, Erika and Klaus, were unconventional, rebellious, and fiercely devoted to each other. Empowered by their close bond, they espoused vehemently anti-Nazi views in a Europe swept up in fascism and were openly, even defiantly, gay in an age of secrecy and repression. In 1936, they fled to the United States and chose New York as their new adopted home. From the start, the two were embroiled by the literary and intellectual life, political turmoil, and shifting sexual mores of their times. Andrea Weiss engages their struggles, their friendships (Maurice Wertheim and Annemarie Schwarzenbach, among them), and their liaisons, as the siblings try to adapt to their new lives, all while introducing their work to an American audience for the first time.

Excellent Things in Women: A Memoir of Postcolonial Pakistan (Chicago Shorts)

by Sara Suleri Goodyear

Sometimes, only the most heartbreaking memories possess the capacityâ??in their elegiac immediacyâ??to take our breath away. With Excellent Things in Women, Sara Suleri offers the reader a delicately wrought memoir of life in postcolonial Pakistan. Suleri intertwines the violent history of Pakistan’s independence with her own intimate experiencesâ??relating the tumult of growing up female during a time of fierce change in the Middle East in the 1960s and ’70s. In the two selections presented here, “Excellent Things in Women” and “Meatless Days,” we watch as Suleri re-encounters the relationships that inform her voyage from adolescence to womanhoodâ??with her Welsh mother; her Pakistani father, prominent political journalist Z. A. Suleri; and her tenacious grandmother, Dadi, along with her five siblingsâ??as she comes to terms with the difficulties of growing up and her own complicated passage to the West.

The Incident at Naples (Chicago Shorts)

by Francis Steegmuller

Born in Australia, novelist Shirley Hazzard first moved to Naples as a young woman in the 1950s to take up a job with the United Nations. It was the beginning of a long love affair with the city, in which the Naples of Pliny, Gibbon, and Auden constantly became reanimated by new experiences, as Hazzard was joined in her travels by her husband, the editor and critic Francis Steegmuller. In The Incident at Naples, a classic essay first published by the New Yorker, Steegmuller recollects on how he was, as a tourist to the city, robbed and injured and then treated in a series of hospitals. What can The Incident at Naples teach us? A town shadowed by both the symbol and the reality of Vesuvius can never fail to acknowledge the essential precariousness of lifeâ??nor, as Hazzard and Steegmuller discover, the human compassion, generosity, and friendship that are necessary to sustain it.

This book is a collection of stories about misadventures I’ve had traveling around the world, meeting colorful degenerates. learning valuable life lessons and killing brain cells. Think of it as Aesop’s Fables, except they aren’t fables and I’m not Aesop.

DEADLY DADS of the UK (PATERNAL FILICIDE)

by Sylvia Perrini

DEADLY DADS UK (Paternal Filicide)

Of all the hideous violent crimes that are committed, the murder of one’s own children, one’s own flesh and blood, are the most baffling. We immediately presume the parent must have lost his mind in a temporary moment of insanity or madness. It is hardly surprising that we find ourselves recoiling in horror at such appalling tragedies and comfort ourselves by thinking that they are isolated, senseless, incidents.

What can possibly make a father commit such unspeakable savagery against his family? Is it despair, hatred, or revenge, or a hideous, deranged possessive love or an incomprehensible abnormality? Are these fathers normal men driven to the edge when circumstances in their lives go wrong or just devilish fiends?

Unfortunately, as demonstrated in the following profiles in this book, and there are a great many more than those the author has included, these kinds of murders are not as rare as we would like to believe.
