Some of these were handed down to me by my grandmother. Not forgetting the children, there are recipes for alcohol free cakes and puddings and I show you how to turn your specially made festive cake into a beautifully iced centre piece for your Christmas celebrations.

Where possible I give advice on how to prepare in advance and also freezing guidelines for the dishes. You do not need advanced cooking skills to complete these recipes but for a few dishes, the use of a food processor or mixer would be time and labour saving.

My mantra is “MIX AND MATCH”. In the “CHRISTMAS, HOW TO IMPRESS WITHOUT STRESS” series of books, you will find several different recipes for cakes, trifles, cheesecakes, starters, stuffing, vegetables, Christmas day lunch and puddings that are interchangeable.
