Christian Apologetics Made Simple

by Larry Tate

Apologetics. What in the world is that? Is it the process of apologizing for something? No, it’s nothing like that at all. Apologetics is the act of defending one’s position through the systematic use of information. The process of apologetics is used in virtually any field of thought and logic. However, it is most known to occur in Christian discussions. Early Christian writers and philosophers who defended their faith against critics and recommended their faith to non-believers were simply called apologists. On the surface, Christian apologetics seems to be a difficult concept to wrap one’s mind around. This book is a guide which shows a few of the more popular apologetic debates, and explaining what they mean. While there are many apologists, both in the past, and in the present, this book describes the greatest apologetic theorems from a few of the greatest Christian thinkers.

A Photographic Journey Through Several Continents

by Mia Randall

Combining her interest in Buddhism, travel and photography, Mia Randall presents a collection of images, (including various photographs of Buddhas), from her travels to Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Spain and Dubai.

Mia Randall: “By gazing at images of Buddha, we can absorb some of Buddha’s good properties. For example, images of Buddha will often show him as being calm, strong, compassionate, joyful or wise. Or we might find many other positive qualities.

So it follows that if we see if we can discern these qualities in a Buddha image, we can choose to consciously develop these qualities in ourselves.

I was taught this by a Buddhist teacher and I’ve practiced it now and again for many years. I really think it works – give it a try next time you meditate!”

Jesus Calls: Pictures of Jesus, Book 3 – A Spiritual Jesus, Human Like You, Human Like Me (Jesus Calls, Pictures of Jesus)

by Jay Wilkensen

Jesus Calls: Pictures of Jesus, Book 3 – A Spiritual Jesus

Christians don’t talk much about the spiritual side of Jesus, perhaps we don’t really think it is necessary to discuss these characteristics evident in His life.

In Jesus Calls: Pictures of Jesus, Book 3 I examine experiences in the life of Jesus which resonate with experiences of my own spiritual walk. The spiritual attributes of Jesus are clearly shown in Scripture from childhood scenes through His life to His crucifixion, it is important to see them so much like our own.

But, are we hesitant to seek these insights?

My journey through the Gospels led me to see how much He was like us.

Please take a walk with me and observe the life of Jesus, the Man. He was more like us when He walked on Earth than I ever realized. I find and explore comparable situations in my life that relate directly to His. Reflections of images of Jesus abound in each of our lives.

I hope you find this book thought-provoking and inspirational. When you ask the questions:

Who is God?

Who is Jesus?

Who was Jesus?

You can answer these by looking at your own life, we are created in His image.

When I look in the mirror, I see Jesus looking back. I hope you see Him too.

;Books 1 and 2 in the Jesus Calls: Pictures of Jesus Series have been released and are available for Kindle. These examine the Physical Jesus and the Emotional Jesus.

EARTH’S EDGE: Tick, Tick, Tick (A Short Gem)

by Linda Shelnutt

Which is it? Is this Short Gem an occult story, a New Thought shenanigan, a modern fairy tale, a metaphysical treatise, a philosophical rant, or an alien love story?

It’s about a woman of all time branded for this time, seeking completion from a return to Earth to rejoin her soul mate, and to do a lot more.

It’s cold truth with the warmth of clean compassion.

It’s light satire without the cutting edge of disdain.

EARTH’S EDGE is a Short Gem opening a fictionalized 2012 Myth… moving beyond pre dawn blues… into a morning coming with the sun rising true [in this 2013 edition].

Though this work can stand alone as an intriguing short story, it also serves in an addicting appetizer, a three chapter [11-13] excerpt from the lengthy, [38 chapter] literary novel, MORNING COMES: The Pre Dawn Blues.

Shelnutt’s Short Gems like Earth’s Edge include snippets of note inserts, photos, and sometimes subtle alterations not in the full books from which they originated. As such, KINDLE GLOW BOOKS sees the separately titled short gems as developing unique perspectives which make them worth reading ahead of, in addition to, or instead of the full length books.

Most of these short gems, along with most of the KINDLE GLOW BOOKS editions of Shelnutt’s work, include categorized hyperlinked lists of similar books to make it easier to identify and read collections together or in sequence.

The latest releases linked in that list are individual chapter installments 1-12 [estimating 30 on completion] of MYRTLE’S PENULTIMATE WALKABOUT, the long awaited sequel to MYRTLE’S ULTIMATE MYSTERY, the pilot [30 chapters] to the Myrtle Drinkwater Astrological Investigator cozy mystery series.

Character Traits

by Dee Duke

This book is a synopsis of a teaching series presented by Pastor Dee Duke on the topic of Character Traits. The book will help you look into essential traits in your life. It guides the reader through Biblical context to understand those traits and how setting goals to develop those traits will assist in life. The introduction of the book describes it this way… you need a game plan to win a game. You need to set your goals to achieve the things you want in life. And by making an effort to achieve those goals… it shapes your character. That’s what this book is about. How important your character is in your life and how it needs to be shaped through your experiences here on this earth.

Dee F. Duke has been the pastor at Jefferson Baptist Church in Jefferson, Oregon, for 32 years. He grew up in Oregon and Washington and graduated from Western Baptist College (now Corban College) in Salem, Oregon, and has since earned a Master’s Degree and an honorary Doctorate from Corban College.. When he first came to the church there were about 25 members and the congregation was meeting in the local City Hall. The church was able to move to the Elementary School and then purchase its own land on which to build. All of the present buildings were built on a cash basis and with volunteer labor from the congregation. A new Sanctuary with a seating capacity of 800 was completed in October, 1999. Construction is continuing on a new Christian Education Building as well as additional parking areas.

Jefferson is a small, rural community of about 2200 people. The church has grown to an average attendance of 900 people in three weekend Services. In the last seven years Jefferson Baptist has had the joy of starting three daughter churches: AGAPE Family Fellowship in Albany, Turning Point Com. Church in Turner, and Doxology in Corvallis.

Pastor Duke attributes the growth of the church to the emphasis on prayer. In 1989 he attended his first Pastors’ Prayer Summit and has since modeled and preached the importance of individual and corporate prayer. He has had the opportunity to speak throughout the United States as well as travel overseas to speak and participate in several Prayer Seminars and Prayer Walking Journeys. He has written articles for Moody Monthly, Leadership Journal and Pray! Magazine, and has written a book, entitled Prayer Quest . He also speaks on a daily radio program.

Dee and his wife Patty have been married for 38 years and have eight children: five who are married, two in college, and one serving as a missionary in Liberia, West Africa. They have eight grandchildren. They live in a 100-year old house near Jefferson, Oregon, and Dee enjoys fishing and hunting, running marathons, as well as restoring old cars.

The Really Bad Thing About Free Will

by Martin Zender

Human belief is a gift of God that acquaints people with something God already did. People do have faith, and they do have wills, but the believing and the willing originated outside themselves. Belief is a gift that follows salvation; it does not precede it. So no one should think: I did it!. The startling result?

Unworthy to wear the Priestly Robe

by Jeanine Compas

A Catholic priest makes vows of fidelity to God, but human nature is weak and he succumbs to the flesh. He seduces a young boy who attends his Sunday school.

This is the beginning of his moral decline while he climbs the rungs until he becomes an Archbishop. His prayers to God apparently never reached the Supreme.

At the end of his life, retired and sick, he writes a letter to the Pope telling him the truth about his immoral life and that he is unworthy to wear the priestly robe. He also asks a last favor: that the Pope grants Catholic priests the right to marry.

Thanks to the inner spiritual latencies, human being proves the ability of taking part to the mighty works exceptionally wrought throughout history and beyond it. He (the author – Ilie Badescu) makes distinction between manifest (functional) spiritual capabilities and latent spiritual capacities (the spiritual frames and teachings being included here but also the potential intelligence). Those people who feel they have no control over their situations appear to be buffeted by a sort of incapacity, although their latent capacities unveil them as normal as other intelligent people. This is the noological law of spiritual latencies.

12 Never-mentioned Steps To Discipleship (Restoring The Church From The Foundation Up)

by David James

This book will inform, equip, empower, and mobilize Christians. It will reveal problems with discipleship in our churches today. It will offer real biblical solutions to restore our right relationship with Jesus Christ, and help us to regain our effectiveness as Christian disciples. This is a comprehensive study of Christian discipleship, and it reveals truths that some pastors and religious leaders may not want you to know.
True Christian Discipleship demonstrates one’s love and devotion to God and to all people. It also helps us to discipline our lives in ways that would be helpful to our communities, and bring honor and glory to God.
It is a fact that many Christians have unconsciously surrendered their rights and authority to their church leaders. People who are educated with the truth cannot be bullied, controlled or intimidated because they know their authority and their rights, and they will not surrender them to others. Christian discipleship is not an option, but it is a way of life. We belong to Jesus Christ and we must obey Him.
So, get out of your dark dungeon, recognize who you really are, and get to “Know your rights and authority as disciples of Jesus Christ.”

Give Big

by G Phillip

The Bible tells us that those who have the gift of giving should give. In this short book I offer my thoughts on how to grow in that gift. I felt in my heart Jesus tell me to write what I believe to be life changing wisdom around the subject of giving. Many of the ideas expressed in this book are the result of discovers, observations and learning from others. Chapters like “Perverted Giving” and “Mindsets and Spirits” will sharpen the readers motives and ability to give. I never want to waste peoples time with false fantasy or 1 in a million stories. That’s why I wrote the chapter “I Just Don’t See It.” An honest look at when life and biblical ideals don’t seem to match. I hope you enjoy this short book and even more I hope the Holy Spirit gives you a radical ability to Give Big.

Journey into Consciousness

by Shelly Wilson

Journey into Consciousness may revolve around my story, but within each one of us is a story that is being written each and every day. We are constantly writing the story of our lives based on choices – whether we make these choices ourselves or they are made for us. The directions those choices take us form the foundation for our learning, spiritual growth, and even our happiness. From the moment we breathe that first breath of life to the moment that final breath exits our body, our life story is being written. As we become more aware and mindful of our own personal power, we are better able to make conscious choices, and give ourselves permission to take control of our destiny instead of leaving it up to fate.

I know that learning to love and accept myself for who I am and embracing all of my experiences as opportunities for learning and growth have been the catalysts for transformation in my life. I also know that this spiritual journey of mine has strengthened and fortified my soul and psyche so that I know that anything is possible, and that we, human beings, can learn to live the life that we deserve to live.

Over the years, I’ve learned that letting go of fear is a crucial part of spiritual growth, and as a human being, I know that fear is what has held me back and inhibited my ability to write this book for a long time. My personal fears about this recounting of my personal journey into consciousness revolve around the uncertainty of what is safe to share.

I acknowledge that the memories of my experiences are solely my perception – my viewpoint. As I tell my story, I do so with the intention of assisting others in awakening to the truth of who they really are and to help them live the life they desire. I apologize here and now if, as my early memories unravel, I inadvertently cause anyone hurt or pain, but my memories are crucial to the telling of my story, and it was Spirit who showed me which memories to share.

The memories I was shown are the pivotal ones that impacted me greatly in my early years. I was shown the memories and choices that molded and shaped me – creating who I am today. By shifting my perceptions, I have freed myself from self-imposed limitations. My past no longer defines me; yet I acknowledge the experiences that have made me the person I am today.

In Section One of this book, I relate my experiences prior to my spiritual awakening. Each chapter begins with a lesson I have learned and ends with a revelation as well as a message to facilitate your journey.

Section Two begins with my spiritual awakening, which I officially designate as May 1, 2008. I began journaling my spiritual path at that time and have incorporated excerpts from my journals. My objective in chronicling and including these personal “aha” moments of learning and clarity is to assist and support my fellow sojourners. During my journey into consciousness, I have utilized many tools that helped me move forward.

In Section Three, I share the tools and wisdom that helped me the most – those tools that I have found to be straightforward, uncomplicated, and therefore, easily incorporated into our daily lives.

In all three sections, I endeavor to share essential details of my story along with guidance and suggestions received from Spirit to help you move forward on your own personal journey into consciousness, and my primary objectives are as follows:

1) To assist in bringing an understanding of one’s life experiences and the consequences of choices made without blaming others

2) To learn to heal from the past through forgiveness and shifting perception

3) To allow ourselves to realize our full potential through empowerment and love

A Guide for Life Is God for Life

by James Thomas Lee Jr

In this book, eight brief scenarios about nine imaginary people will be presented. Even though the individuals will not have been modeled after anyone in particular, their intent will be to mirror what many people in this world consider to be the very important issues of this life. The point that will be made with each scenario, however, is that every person NO MATTER WHAT will someday die. Therefore, if there is such a thing as an afterlife and if that afterlife lasts forever, then rational intelligent human beings to be rational and intelligent should be at least a little bit concerned about that life after death.

While the topics of this book are very serious, playful names have been used to describe the type of each person being discussed. For example, scenario one is about Abercrombie Gotitall. With a name like that, it should be obvious that he is very successful. Scenario two is about Barking Godislove. His main claim is that a loving God would never impose eternal condemnation on anyone. Scenario three is about Causing Imsogood. She believes that it is very important to be a good person and to be involved in positive civic causes. Scenario four is about Doing Moregoodthanbad. Neither saint nor devil is what seems to be most important to him. Scenario five is about Eternity Doesnotexist. Eternity tends to rely on the so-called smart people in this world to let her know the truth about the afterlife. Scenario six is about Foolish Religionisforothers. When he considers the costs of a favorable afterlife, he cannot bring himself to make WHAT HE THINKS are the necessary lifestyle changes to have it. Scenario seven is about Goober Faithshallow. She had repeated a template type of prayer for salvation as a young girl. Then, throughout her whole life, she had counted on that one prayer to get her into heaven once on the other side of the grave. Finally, scenario eight is about Hadnut and Ioline Truefaith. Of the nine people discussed, those are the two that got everything right.

In the first two chapters, the first seven scenarios will be presented. The people will be introduced in chapter one and their eternal destiny will be discussed in chapter two. That chapter will also explain why each of them had ended up as they had. In chapter three, a discussion will be presented about what it will be like to die lost. In chapter four, the importance of seeking the Lord with all of one’s heart will be emphasized. That chapter will conclude with an introduction and discussion of Hadnut and Ioline Truefaith and their four children. The first part of chapter five will emphasize that Christian people are forgiven but not perfect. That part of the chapter will address some of the difficulties that some of them have faced and some of their clear shortcomings. The second part of the chapter will talk about what it means to DIE SAVED. The Bible does not talk much about that topic. But from what is available, a person can at least know if paradise is located UP or DOWN.

From the first page to the last page of this book, the entire intent has been to exalt Jesus. He is the Lord. He is the one that died on the cross so that people CAN come to the Him by faith. Therefore, the whole desire and purpose is to encourage each person to seek Him with all of his or her heart. It is to encourage each person to commit to Him and to trust in Him. It is to encourage each person to enter into a personal relationship with the Creator of everything. Jesus has made all things available and all things possible to every person that will come to Him by faith.
