Puritan’s Empire

by Charles Coulombe

A Catholic Perspective on American History.
History is the key to understanding men-whether as nations, families, or individuals. For Catholics, history has an even higher purpose beside. For them, history is the unfolding of God’s Will in time, and the attempts of men either to conform themselves to or to resist that Will. But American Catholic historians have generally refrained from exploring their own national history with these principles, preferring instead to adopt the analysis of their non-Catholic colleagues, save when looking at purely Catholic topics (and sometimes not then). It is vital then, for Catholics, especially young Catholics, to have a good and proper understanding of their country’s history. To exercise their patriotism, they must work for the conversion of the United States; to do this effectively, they must understand the forces and events which brought forth not only the religion of Americanism and the country itself, but also the sort of Catholicism which, in 300 years, failed so dismally to bring this conversion about. This book attempts to reinterpret the better known episodes of our history in accordance with the Faith, and to point up lesser-known details which will give factual proof of the truth of this reinterpretation.

They Called Me Beautiful

by Alena J. Kellerman

My name’s Kate, and I’m the one they called beautiful. Not that it matters much now.

Maddie’s the one who really mattered, and she’s gone.

Set in a modern Mennonite culture, They Called Me Beautiful focuses on the lives of two young ladies, Katherine Hershberger and Madeleine Proctor. Maddie was the vibrant one, Kate the quiet one. Early childhood found them inseparable, but the progression of time and its accompanying circumstances served to drive them farther and farther apart. Only brokenness on both their parts would bring them together again. And even then, only for a little.

Bible Study #52 Major Prophets Series Jeremiah 1-15 (Bible Study With John Ogwyn)

by John Ogwyn

“This evening we are getting into the book of

Jeremiah. We are getting into the account of

Jeremiah’s prophetic ministry. Jeremiah’s

ministry covered a period of about 40 years. He

began his ministry during the reign of King

Josiah. He continued during the reign of King

Josiah and all the way down until the final

invasion of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar. From

Judah, Jeremiah went into Egypt with the Jews

who fled into Egypt. From Egypt, he proceeded

by way of Spain all the way into Ireland. Some of

that is gone into in the booklet, What’s Ahead for

America and Britain?

A major part of Jeremiah’s commission involved

the transferring of the throne of David from

ruling over the house of Judah to ruling over the

house of Israel. There would be a continuation of

his throne and dynasty. A lot of that culminates

in the book of Jeremiah. It was during the time of

Jeremiah’s ministry that there was what appeared

to be an apparent end to that promise because the

Babylonians came in and conquered Judah.

They took the Jews into captivity. They

conquered Jerusalem and burned the temple.

They sacked Jerusalem and killed the sons of

King Zedekiah. They put out the eyes of

Zedekiah and transported him in chains to

Babylon. He came to a very gruesome and

horrible end. In fact, the very last sight that he…” Read More!!

Unsaid Words of My Life

This work is a collection of Isaias Doleo’s amazing and encouraging poems. We could not do justice to the book with only these words. Worth reading this work full of joy and wisdom in order to know more about the purpose of the writer’ words and ideas. Isaias’ poems are particularly short; nonetheless they all serve as complete thoughts unto themselves.

In Desperate Straits (The Gibraltar Quartet)

by E.J. Kaye

As the year 700 AD dawned, Christendom was in retreat. In the Eastern Mediterranean, the remnant of the Roman Empire ruled from Constantinople was caught in a nutcracker composed of barbarian tribes in the Balkans and triumphant Islam in Syria and Armenia. Resolute in their determination to defend their culture and Christianity, Imperial soldiers fought their Saracen foes in an on-again, off-again border war.

Imperial troops held Rome and much of Southern Italy and Sicily, but had recently lost all of Palestine and North Africa to the surging Muslims of the Omayyad Caliphate. Under the banner of the Caliph, the faithful sought to bring Islam to the entire Mediterranean and beyond. Only the small outpost of Ceuta, poised on the straits of Gibraltar, remained as a testament to the power of the Roman Empire and a last foothold of Christianity in Africa.

Julian Nikerites is tasked with defending Ceuta against the attacking Muslims. Will scheming Visigoths in Spain, a deranged Emperor in Constantinople, or the arrival of someone out of his past thwart his efforts?

In Desperate Straits is the first installment in a tale of war, redemption, and the clash of cultures and religions.

When Gospels Collide: The Unabridged Story of Jesus Christ

by J. Brent Eaton

Read the Entire Christmas Story From All Four Gospels in Context!

You will be surprised what you can learn reading all of the details of the gospels in one narrative.

The four Gospels in the Christian Bible, contain a wealth of information about the life and words of Jesus Christ told from four unique perspectives. While some stories are told in one Gospel, many have counterparts in two, three, or all four books. These overlapping accounts share many common characteristics, but also reflect the unique intents of their authors.

When Gospels Collide brings all of those details together in one continuous narrative to bring out the intricate relationships of the accounts as well as the beautiful details available in one concentrated reading of Jesus’ life.

One example is the account of Pilate ordering the sign placed on the cross. In Luke 23:38 we find the words “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” The other three Gospels have different accounts of the wording. In this book, I have combined all the details in one account, so that Pilate’s sign reads: “THIS IS JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.” The full meaning is evident when all four Gospels speak at once.

Even when only one author gives an account of Jesus’ life, the silence of the other Gospel writers can tell a story. As you read the accounts of Jesus birth, you will notice some strong patterns. For example, the only way we know what Joseph experienced is through Matthew’s accounts. Also, it is easy to assume that Joseph took Jesus and Mary to Egypt within a day or two of Jesus’ birthâ?¦ that is until you read all of the accounts together and see that there are other events that happened in between.

I hope that you will discover other new insights and blessings as you read through the unabridged account of Jesus’ life. I have intentionally left this book as free of interpretive comment as possible, knowing that the chronological arrangement of some of the stories is, itself, a form of commentary.

Homeopathy Revisited

by Joseph Scogna

This book was written as a helping hand for those who would like to gain a better understanding of the workings of Life Energy.
Although it is a text about homeopathy and awareness, the main theme is the control of Life Energy.
Even though my own research into the subject of homeopathy has covered a relatively short time span, I believe that some tremendously important breakthroughs involving modern science and homeopathy have been made.
I was very surprised to find a substantial amount of similarity between homeopathy and some of the ancient healing disciplines, such as that taught by Aristotle, Hippocrates, Susrata, Pliny the elder, and Lao Tze.
But, of all the disciplines, arts, and practices I pursued in search of a common denominator, none were more helpful than the cryptic works of Solomon, who was King of Israel more than 3,000 years ago. Many of his teachings have filtered down through the ages by way of legends, tales, the Bible, and the Freemasons, a secret society of which Solomon was founder. It was by sheer determination and months of hard work that I managed to piece together a realistic philosophical science that suited the almost mythical ruler.
What was Solomon’s common denominator?
That true magnetic principles of life are dictated by the idea that: LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE and OPPOSITES REPEL. This may have been his basic wisdom.
It is true that this magnetic axiom dominates all Life Energy. It was with this idea that many of the famous healers, such as Salk, Pasteur, and Koch were able to create their cures.
Homeopathy is the science of treating people with herbs, minerals and other materials that will produce symptoms in a healthy person that match the symptoms of the unhealthy person. In other words, a homeopathic remedy can cure certain symptoms of a disease if it can produce similar disease symptoms in a healthy person.

LIKE TO LIKE
LIKE CURES LIKE
LIKE CONTROLS LIKE

This was the guideline for which Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the Founder of Homeopathy, was duly criticized and ridiculed, like most geniuses that think and formulate “before their time.”
I am most grateful to Hahnemann, Boericke, Hering, Boenninghausen, and many of the past Masters of Homeopathy.
It is my intent with this book to open the door to a world governed by true magnetic principles.

What Your Blood Tells You

by Joseph Scogna

What is your blood cholesterol number? How are your triglycerides? If you are a weight lifter, your creatinine number will have special significance.

Have you ever wondered what vitamins, minerals, juices, essential oils, herbs or other nutrients and foods might adjust these numbers?

To anyone interested in their own nutritional health and symptoms, these are common questions. It seems we all have an innate desire to know what makes our body perform the miracle it does. This has led many searchers to delve into various realms of science seeking the answers.

The simple fact is that the body is a machine, and in its smallest sense, the blood is the body. The blood is a micro-universe. As the blood circulates through our veins and arteries, it carries oxygen and nutrients to our cells and tissues. When the metabolic processes are completed, it miraculously removes the waste products and carbon dioxide from the cells for transport and disposal. The blood is replete with all the materials and ingredients necessary to build and sustain us. Everything is in our blood to make us what we are today and to shape us into what we will be tomorrow.

Of course, a lack of vital nutrients or an excess of poisons affects the role our blood plays. If we aren’t eating wholesome and nutritious foods, or if we are under too much stress, or if we live in close proximity to industrial sites or electronic pollution, our body and its small but most vital part, the blood, will be affected.

While no two individuals are alike, we do indeed share the same humanoid blueprint – all of us under the sun depend on blood.

Perhaps in the future, men and women will possess bionically constructed android bodies with few moving parts that can exist on alternating current and occasional lube jobs. But here, in the present, we must pay tribute to that marvelous, rich liquid which courses through the body by the microsecond to keep us alive – we must learn all we can about how the blood works. —JRS

The Present Truth

by Martin Murphy

The author looks for the church with the present truth of Scripture as His guide. The Summary of The Present Truth is found in this remark about the State of the Church. “The More I look at the church the less I see of the church. The more I look at the American culture, the more I see the church.” Each chapter is practically theological and purposely penetrates the surface of evangelical church. It is the present truth. This book consists of essays written over the past twenty years because of some encounter the author had with biblical doctrine, theological inquiry, or philosophical contemplation.” It will challenge some, encourage others, but it will cause everyone to give thought to the present truth.

A ROUGH DIAMOND

by Elizabeth Adeniyi

Sharon’s life was at its fullest or so it seemed. She had one of the best paying jobs, a high flyer; climbing the career ladder at a pace most people could only imagine. Blessed with toys typical of the fast-paced life, state of the art automobiles, jetting from one city to another on vacation, and been courted by the most eligible bachelor at work. What more can a girl possibly ask for?

This was Sharon’s life until a sleeping beast from the past rose and dealt her an eternal wound. Would she recover from it?

Left alone by family and friends, she turned to the one who has the answers to the questions of life. A Rough Diamond portrays the frailty of human affections in the face of adversity, Sharon’s emotional battles with God who she held responsible for her woes and the strength that came when she decided to put her faith in an invisible God.

In this story, we will get to see that death is not the end of human existence; it is only a door to eternity.

From this classic piece, we will see how a life can be beautifully remolded and transformed by tragedy; how good can spin out of a tragic event and how the human spirit through faith in God can rise above every conceivable challenge of life.

Emotional, gripping and deeply moving, this is a book that will obsess, possess and remain with you forever.

Follow me in this classic piece as I recount the story of Sharon Mathewsâ?¦

HIDDEN BIBLE TABOOS FORBIDDEN BY ORGANIZED CHRISTIANITY

by James Slobodzien

Have you ever wondered how ancient “evil” entered our world and how the human race became so evil that God had to destroy his very own creation with a Great Flood? Where did the first Taboos come from, and who created the first religions? Have you ever asked yourself why the God that created our Universe and everything in it, would have or want anything to do with “Organized Religions” that have historically caused thousands of years of hate, hostility, fear, corruption, greed, moral decay, and abuse of spiritual authority? This compilation of independent articles points towards a theme question to consider: Was the “Organized Religion of Christianity” a planned evil conspiracy to destroy the Early “Christian Home” Church, and establish in its place a pseudo (fake) powerless dead religion – owned and operated by ministers of Satan who masquerade as angels of light ? (2 Cor. 11:14).

The religious and spiritual dimensions of culture are repeatedly found to be among the most important factors that structure human experience, beliefs, values, and behavior, and they should be encouraging us to pursue a life of love, forgiveness, and compassion. But, why do some Church leaders of religions within the organized institutions of Christianity abuse and pervert their power, disrupt and divide families, foster unhealthy dependence of their members on the leadership, and create ultimate spiritual confusion in the lives of their victims leaving spiritual and psychological scars on their souls – causing maladaptive mental health problems and religious addiction?

This article anthology accidentally but systematically integrates – ancient religious mythologies; archeological mysteries; scientific and historical facts; and End Time prophecies to reveal some hidden TABOOS of the Bible. This compilation of independent articles indirectly provides a historical overview of the ancient world that leads up to the time of Jesus and the Early Church, and reveals some Taboos related to sex, drugs, violence and racism. The majority of the Taboos in this book however, are not related to ancient mysterious pagan practices. The most significant Taboos in this book are coming from professional church leaders of organized religions of Christianity who forbid their church members from knowing and practicing what is written in the New Testament, and commanded by Jesus and his Apostles. For example, one hidden Bible Taboo believed and practiced by the Apostles was that it was forbidden for any minister of God to accept money for doing God’s work (Acts 8: 17-22). There were no paid professional Christians in the Early Church for the first 300 years. This all changed in the 4th century when the Roman Emperor – Constantine appointed 1800 Catholic Bishops and started paying them a government stipend to work for the Roman Church. Are you a victim of religious extortion? If you are concerned about a family member, friend or even a co-worker that seems to get too fanatical about their religion and they appear to be developing some maladaptive symptoms and behaviors – you may want to read this book.

This book makes the case that authentic Christianity is not a religion that is practiced on Sundays, but it is a lifestyle that can be chosen to live on a daily basis within our very own family-home churches. It reviews how Jesus taught the Way to live to the Apostles, and their lives reflected the Way of God that is revealed in our New Testament Bible. This book also teaches that all believers are Kings and Priests in the Royal Priesthood and Holy Nation of God, and therefore the three-phase process of biblical Holiness: 1. Positional Holiness; 2. Experiential Holiness; and 3. Ultimate Holiness, and some baby steps and an action plan to start living – “The Way” is provided for spiritual growth. Don’t let yourself, your family or your friends go without reading this life-changing book!

Bible Study #53 Major Prophets Series Jeremiah 16-34 (Bible Study With John Ogwyn)

by John Ogwyn

“We are continuing our survey through the book

of Jeremiah. We are dealing with the middle

section of the book of Jeremiahâ??chapters

16â??34. This section deals with various

prophecies of Judah’s impending captivity. He

uses it as a type of events that will come upon

the whole house of Israel at the end time. In

the context of material we will look at this

evening, another thing that comes out is the

persecution that Jeremiah faced as God’s

spokesman. This is important to realize because

down through the centuries, God’s message has

not been a popular message. Many times God’s

servants have suffered great adversity and

difficulties for delivering that message. We will

see that here in the book of Jeremiah and we will

see some of the things Jeremiah went through.

I think it is important for us to realize that there

are probably a lot of things that we’re going to

have to face and go through between now and the

end of this age. We don’t know every detail of

what it’s going to be, but the Bible certainly

gives indications and certainly shows by

example the fact that God’s message has never

been popular. It wasn’t popular at the time of

Jeremiah; it certainly wasn’t popular at the time

of Jesus Christ and it’s not going to be popular in

our time and in our day.

The Scriptures talk about events, a Great…” Read More!!

Bible Study #54 Major Prophets Series Jeremiah 35-52 (Bible Study With John Ogwyn)

by John Ogwyn

“We are ready to finish up the book of

Jeremiah. The first 11chapters that we are going

to cover this evening, Jeremiah 35-45, provide

a historical inset to the theme of the prophecy.

What we primarily have in these chapters is a

historical account of the events of Jeremiah’s

ministry. We have the account of his warning to

the governmental leaders in his day, the story of

his subsequent arrest and, finally, the story of the

Babylonian invasion of Judah and subsequent

captivity of Jerusalem and Judah. We have the

account of those Jews who were left behind and

their electing to move to Egypt in spite of

Jeremiah’s warnings to the contrary. We have the

consequences of that.

These chapters deal primarily with contemporary

events and, yet, they also provide lessons for us

today. There is a lot of insight, a lot of things that

we can gain and learn from parallels with the

work that God did through Jeremiah, the work

How the Sikh Gurus Can Change Your Life

by Amrik Singh

Between the fifteenth and the beginning of the eighteenth century, ten men developed a revolutionary worldview, a philosophy, a culture and a religion that now – only six centuries later – has 30 million followers worldwide.

It is the newest and most modern world religion. At its foundation is a philosophy that is stunning in its ability to change lives for the better. Yet those insights are not widely known. This book aims to make the wisdom of the Sikh gurus available to people of any religion or none.

This book is for you if you’re curious about how philosophies and spirituality can change your life. If you believe that enriching your mind with new thoughts can bring you happiness, abundance, deep personal relationships, then read on. If you want to learn how certain exercises of the mind can free you from anxiety and worry forever and replace them with indestructible happiness and optimism, this is aimed at you.

This book does not:

– Ask you to change your religion or join a sect (in fact it asks you to be sceptical of empty religious rituals and commandments)

– Need you to believe in God (in fact atheists should be able to take many valuable insights from this book without changing their mind about God)

– Suggest you say prayers or recite mantras (in fact it encourages you to aim

for a deep understanding of your place in the universe, not to put faith in words that mean nothing to you)

– Require you to change your diet or lifestyle (in fact it wants you to lead whatever life makes you happy, so long as it really truly makes you happy!)

– Ask you to follow anyone or anything (apart from your own wisdom and willingness to develop)

Yes, this book is about the wisdom of a group of men who from 15th century Northern India founded a world religion but it is not about converting you to their beliefs. It aims simply to make their wisdom known more widely and to share elements of their thinking that are profoundly helpful in bringing happiness to a complex world.

It demonstrates how lasting happiness and abundance can come to your life through a deeper understanding of the world and our place in it through a discussion of several riddles:

– why do we perceive many separate things if all is one?

– how can we be expected to make moral choices in our actions if all is one?

– how can we be fully spiritual and yet immersed in the struggles of the world?
