A group of humans forced to flee their planet after an epidemic destroyed their civilization now travel the galaxies in search of an antidote. Retrieving samples of plant life from every solar system, on this occasion Aimee was accidentally seized instead.

Aimee must learn to avoid the advances of an awkward young scientist who seems intent on dissecting her, as her own fascination turns to the exotic young warrior, Zak. Having fallen in love with Zak, she is now torn with the decision to return to Earth or live beyond the stars.

Micromégas Returns: Reality Siriusly Reconsidered

by William L. Smith M.S.T.S.

This short story seeks to engage the reader in a discussion of the nature of reality by means of some rather unique science fiction.

In an older version, *Micromégas Returns* was an Independent Study project for a graduate-level anthropology class discussing C.G. Jung’s concept of the collective unconscious. In this current version, reality is reconsidered from the perspectives of consciousness as wave packets as intended by the physicists David Bohm and Basil Hiley in their book ‘The Undivided Universe’, and also from the early American psychologist William James’ radical empirical perspective of consciousness being a collection of conjunctive relations being pure experience, with collections of more than one consciousness encountering the same phenomenon being a shared experience.

This approach is not unlike sitting in a cinema and watching a film with the rest of the audience. It’s not mainstream, yet it is coherent. Ponder it. Ask yourself this: How true does it feel to you on an intuitive level?
