The Adventures Of A Typical American: India

by Chad Thomson

When young American Chad Thomson sets out on the adventure of a lifetime, little does he know how much of an impact the world will have on him. In this first installment of his travel memoirs, Chad begins his round-the-world travel adventure in typical American style. During his four weeks in India he discovers:

Nepal is not in India.

The origin of the word tiffin (a mix of the words tin and muffin).

McDonald’s in India is not like the McDonald’s in the USA

And many more things.

Follow Chad as he follows exactly what the Bible tells him (not the Holy Bible, the travelers Bible) and immerses himself in the local culture, meeting people from Australia, the USA and even one or two from India!

About Chad:

Chad Thomson is just a typical American leaving the comforts of his home country to explore the world. He was inspired to write about his adventures after reading the many, many travel blogs online.

This is his story.*

*not the whole story, just the part that takes place in India. Stay tuned for further installments of The Adventures Of A Typical American!

Need some fine print?

* This is an updated and new-and-improved version of a previous book called DESIRE. Same story, new cover, but edited. If you have already read DESIRE, first–Thank you, and second, the story is not different.

* This is a love story with steamy love scenes between two men. But it’s also a love story and one that I would not classify as “Erotica” — though it has one erotic scene near the end. On a scale of 1-5, 1 being “vanilla” and 5 being “this is so hot, I’m dying”; I would rate this a 3.

* This series has been published in “Episodic Form” aka, Installments. This means Novella #1 isn’t the complete story. It stops at a good spot (cliffhanger), but not at the final conclusion. I know this bothers some folks, so I feel it is best to be upfront about it. This particular novella is about 50 pages long.

His long, black lashes fluttered down as he brazenly reviewed the rest of me. He straightened and placed a hand on either side of my head, effectively trapping me against the wall. “Explain.”

His nearness made my head spin. I swallowed. “I–I came to tell you, you are in grave trouble.”

Prickly Pear: A contemporary Romance set in Chicago and the Southwest

by Mike Nardine

When I was a little boy growing up in El Paso, Texas, there was this magical place a few miles north of us in New Mexico called Old Mesilla. If you were new to the area, it was hard to find. The road was paved, but badly marked, and it curved through monotonous miles of cotton fields and irrigation ditches before reaching the weeping willows and cottonwoods of the Rio Grande River and finally, Old Mesilla.
The place wasn’t popular with tourists then: there was a dirt road around the historic plaza that turned to clinging mud when it rained and the cottonwood trees were filled with thousands of noisy birds doing what birds do. But history lingered in the decaying adobe buildings that had once housed the New Mexico Territory territorial government, served as a way station for the Butterfield stage, and provided a jail for Billy the Kid.
In my youth the businesses around the plaza were all locally run. There were several small art galleries selling paintings by Southwestern artists, two great restaurants serving both Mexican and American food, and an amazingly fine independent book store with inlaid tiles actually painted by a young Salvador Dali. There were curios for the tourists lucky enough to find the place: but they were real Southwestern curios, one or two of a kind, crafted by native locals, not stamped out of plastic by the million in China. To a child like myself, trying desperately to escape reality in history and dreams, there was no other place like it under the desert sun.
But I grew up and so did Old Mesilla. Reality forced its way into my life and history was overwhelmed by progress in Old Mesilla. They paved the road around the historic plaza, tore down the cottonwoods and sold the tiles in the bookstore.
But I still love the place.
As does Karen, the heroine of my novel; but while I lived forty miles away, Karen grew up playing and dreaming in the old buildings beneath the cottonwoods. And now, an art teacher in her late twenties, she has yet to come to terms with the changes.
Her aunt’s art gallery stands at bankruptcy’s door. The only gallery in Old Mesilla still selling exclusively Southwestern art, she is being pressured by their bank to go along with the rest of the galleries and shops and sell whatever the tourists will buy. But Karen refuses to compromise and her aunt bows unhappily to her youthful righteousness.
Into her life comes Blake Randal, a prosperous gallery owner from Chicago who is traveling through the southwest looking for marketable artists, and possessing a potent sexuality that threatens to take Karen’s breath and good sense away.
He finds the artist he has been searching forâ??Karen! He isn’t inclined to haggle, but for her the price is too steepâ??she has to leave Old Mesilla for a few months to help him market her paintings in Chicago.
Frightened by her feelings for him, and almost ill at the thought of selling her paintings and herself in Chicago, Karen at first refuses his offer. She tries to take refuge in her dreams of the past. But her aunt’s very livelihood is threatened, and she comes to understand that only she can save itâ??but at the cost of her own soul? Novel length, approximately 55000 words.

Hyper-Grace: The Dangerous Doctrine of a Happy God

by D. R. Silva

In D. R. Silva’s latest book, he once again challenges the giants of Christian tradition, confronting the popular assumptions, misconceptions and false accusations brought against the “the modern grace message.” In this book, he tells you what is and isn’t being said by those in today’s “Grace movement,” and answers some of the most common questions and concerns:

  • Are followers in the “hyper-grace” movement really being told it’s okay to sin and live immoral lives because we have grace?
  • Do “hyper-grace” teachers believe that repentance and confession are has-been concepts only applicable under the Old Covenant?
  • Do “hyper-grace” teachers hate the Law?
  • Are they ignoring the words of Jesus? Or actually taking them seriously?
  • Has God only forgiven your past sins, and left it completely up to you to get your future sins forgiven?
  • Is this “doctrine” one step away from Universalism?

In this short and practical book, you will get a basic understanding of the foundational ideas of “the modern Grace message.” You will see that the “hyper-grace” teachings that are being opposed today are actually Biblical concepts found in scripture, and that this is the same Gospel Paul preached and defended passionately.
This book also provides many scriptures to prove that it’s actually the popular church traditions of today that are leading people into sin and deception, causing them to fall from Grace and become separated from Christ.
Like all of the great reformations in the past, we have once again reached a vital fork in the road where we must make the choice of whether we will desperately cling to our old traditions (which Jesus warned, “nullify the word of God”), or if we will actually “test everything” for ourselves and consider whether or not this is the gospel of good news that our traditions have kept hidden from us for so long.
Where we choose to go next will have a tremendous impact on the future of the church and the world, for many generations to come. Let us choose wisely then, not coming to conclusions impulsively!
In a time where “balance” has become a huge spiritual buzzword, don’t be led astray by unbalanced claims and religious propaganda.

The Prayer of the Lord

by R.C. Sproul

What is the Lord s Prayer? In The Prayer of the Lord, Dr. R. C. Sproul writes, Jesus intent was to give His disciples a model prayer, an example to follow, one that would teach them transferrable principles for conversation with God. In short, Christ gave the Lord s Prayer to teach His disciples about prayer, and Dr. Sproul, in his trademark fashion, brings out many of the truths Christ intended for His followers to learn. Readers will learn how not to pray, then will be led into a deeper understanding of such topics as the fatherhood of God, the kingdom of God, the will of God, the nature of sin and forgiveness, the dangers of temptation, and the cunning of Satan. The final chapter includes questions and answers on various aspects of prayer not covered elsewhere in the book, and the appendix addresses the difficult question of the relationship of God s sovereignty and prayer. The Prayer of the Lord is an eye-opening journey, one that reveals new vistas in familiar terrain.

by Brian L. Knack

The Christian walk is a continuing journey through a life of grace and obedience. The destination is Jesus Himself; to be like Him as He is.

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in April of 1994. After my tears stopped and my eyes dried there was one thought in my mind, “Now what?” I was “saved” but I had no idea what I was supposed to do next or what that really meant.

It is for this reason and for all those men and women out there who go through the same thing I did that I wrote, Now What?

It is my sincere prayer and desire that through the aid of this book and study guide you will be able to grow strong in your walk with Jesus. I pray it will help guide you and direct you as you begin your journey as a soldier of Christ.

Not Just Another Diet Book

The failing of most weight loss guides is that they are strict, regimented plans complete with recipes, rules and long lists of do’s and don’ts. However, this approach is exactly what Jonathan Ellis has shunned in this revolutionary new book,

His personal journey, as the reader discovers, include an increase in daily walks and a change in the way he views the human body from the perspective of technology.

“I don’t tell anyone how to lose weight,” Ellis explains, “only how I lost it. I’ve walked the path already. Anyone wishing to follow along – can easily do so. It’s as simple as that.”

DEVOTIONAL CATALYST Inspiration For Busy Christians

by Gary Martin

This 40-day devotional brings a refreshing approach to assisting busy people to connect with God.

Taking his inspiration from the rich imagery of the scriptures, Gary highlights creative ways of expressing the grace of God in everyday life.
As he notes in day 7, “Putting on Christ is not a cover-up for what you really are; it is a whole new outfit to wear, signifying your new standing before God.” A key point of difference of this study is the focus placed on the resources and provisions given to empower us to express our new identity in Christ.

Through these meditations the illusion of distance from God is dealt with, a deeper understanding of what has been done through Christ is realised, and we will be better equipped to face opposition and difficulties. A passion and excitement for Christian spirituality can be rekindled, as well as a deeper appreciation for God and his eternal purposes.
Most of these reflections on relationship with God also have additional Bible references to help in understanding these often-neglected but powerful expressions of salvation and faith.

Peering into the Future

by T. Emerson May

Can the future be presaged? Is there a way to look forward in time to gain insight into what is to come? Can remote viewing accomplish this? This book attempts to answer those questions while providing a new insight into what time really is and what it is not.

Is time a straight line, beginning with the Big Bang and continuing unbroken to the present, or is it a circle, a wheel, where the past, present and future all coincide? Does time itself actually exist? Read this book and be surprised.

40 Prayers for Loved Ones Living Without Christ (40 Prayers Series)

by D. Duane Engler

You may encounter someone living without Christ at some point in your life. It could be your sister, your brother, your father, or your mother. It could be a grandparent or an uncle, a cousin or an in-law. It could be a friend, a son, or a neighbor. It could even be your spouse.

Words can’t describe the agony of knowing that a loved one is teetering on the brink of eternity in hell by not accepting Jesus Christ into their heart. You want to do anything and everything possible to reach them and help them experience the joy, the peace, and the love that you’ve found, but everything you do comes up short.

Prayer is the most powerful thing you can do to allow God to work in their life. They may never come to you to lead them to salvation or ask you for advice. But by being an example to them, we may encourage them to come to terms with God on their own.

I know it breaks my heart, and probably yours, when someone we love rejects Christ, but we must stand firm with patience and prayer. God will provide in His timing, so live with confidence and be a resource for a trainable mind eager and willing to learn about the Lord.

Let’s get to prayer.

To God be the glory,

Carolyn’s Story: Companion Book of: Trails

by Sally Demaray Hull

Companion book to the Trails series, it is a story complete in itself. Carolyn Smyth-Johnson finds herself thrust out of the family and out of Boston, being given a one-way ticket to Virginia with only what treasures she can carry in her trunk. Not having been prepared for anything but a life of ease, Carolyn is now faced with having to make a living for herself. A year and a half earlier she had bid her best friend, Rachel Nathan, farewell when the Nathans left their grand mansion in Boston for the Oregon Trail in the mid 1850s. Carolyn’s snobbishness had alienated her to the point of having driven everyone away, except for Rachel, who was now gone. Out of boredom and loneliness, Carolyn began attending church and soon learned to know Jesus as her Savior. But once her father learned about it, he disinherited her and sent her off to Virginia. Can she make it on her own? “Help me, Lord,” she prays. “I have no idea what to do now.”

The Ministry of the Apostle Paul

by James Thomas Lee Jr

When this book was begun in late November 2013, the intent had been to write a commentary on chapter five of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus. However, about fifty pages into that endeavor, it had become very clear that the book was not going in that direction. For one thing, his letter to that church had not even been mentioned in those pages. For another, the focus up to that point had mostly been on Paul’s missionary journeys. The reason for those problems was that the original intent had been to put his letter to the church into the context of his journeys. But there had been so much to say about the journeys that his letter to the church had taken a much deserved back seat. Therefore, the title was changed to its current title, and the remaining efforts were applied in that direction.

This book is very much a history of Paul’s ministry. Great effort has been expended to try to date when and where Paul had gone. Then, at each stopping point along the way, the more significant events of what had happened to him are shared. Most people would probably not think of him as having taken five separate missionary journeys. But that is because the first one and the last one were not as carefully documented in the Bible as the middle three. In the pages that follow, the reader will be able to clearly see those five journeys plus his two separate imprisonments in Rome. Most people also have probably never tried to put his writing of his thirteen letters to the churches and to certain individuals into the context of what had been going on in his life at the time. But this book has done that and has also dedicated space to trying to report exactly what he had been communicating in those letters.

For example, the person that reads this book will learn what Paul had meant when he had written in Romans 1:20-32 that God had turned certain individuals over to a reprobate mind. He or she will learn what he had meant in I Timothy 2:11-15 when he had written about women being silent in the church. He or she will learn what Paul had meant in I Timothy 3:1-7 concerning men and women being involved in the ministry. He or she will learn in what city Paul had been in most danger of being thrown to the wild beasts and in what city he had actually been stoned and left for dead. The reader will learn some of the reasons for believing that Paul had not actually written the epistle to the Hebrews. Then in the final chapter, the reader will find a short tribute that has been given to Luke for his skill, accuracy, and dedication in writing about Paul’s journeys. He or she will also find a tribute that has been given to Paul and to the other saints that had and have so selflessly dedicated themselves to bringing the truth of the gospel to succeeding generations regardless of the cost to themselves. The fact that this book shares so much of that kind of information in addition to the missionary journeys themselves makes it very much a tool for learning.

Writing this book has been an incredibly interesting and uplifting learning experience for me. Therefore, I believe that it will be the same for anyone that reads it. Perhaps some day I will even get around to writing a commentary on the fifth chapter of Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus.

The Genesis Mystery Revealed

Many people today search for truth in either science or religion. What if both are true? Many people believe in God, yet still believe the earth is more than 6000 years old. Quantum physics and string theories now conclude a Universal Consciousness is the root of all consciousness and life. Archeological research also proves many Biblical stories and places did indeed exist.

One of the biggest controversies about the Bible is over the first two chapters of Genesis. Many theories have been given, yet none have been able to logically explain the two chapters. The Genesis Mystery Revealed gives a complete and comprehensive analysis of this mystery. It explains the true date of Adam’s creation, the mysteries of Cain’s wife, the sons of God, and the Nephilim, along with other food for thought.

Was humanity already here prior to Adam and Eve? Who helped Cain build his city? How did giants appear again after the Flood?

All these questions and more are answered in The Genesis Mystery Revealed.

Prior to this book, many people felt they must choose science or religion, never both. This book shows how both science and religion combine to present an indisputable truth that has been overlooked for too long.

Theories of aliens, ancient astronauts, and “fallen angels” are also presented. There are so many theories on the web, in bookstores, and on television, that one cannot help but be confused over what is truth or fiction.

If you are one of the many who are not sure what to believe, who are skeptical of some of these theories, read this book and then decide.

If you believe the Bible to hold truths yet are still confused over the supposed discrepancies, then read this book and see for yourself that the answers contained within are justified. If you think archeological discoveries and scientific research cannot be disputed, read this book and see how these findings relate and harmonize with what is explained within its pages. The Genesis Mystery Revealed is truly an eye-opening experience; a book you will read more than once!

Revolution Is a Dinner Party — Rogue Pluralism in China

by M. Eigh

Traveling to China? Have some friends visiting from China? Or simply going to a China-related event?

Download a copy of M. Eigh’s Revolution Is a Dinner Party — the Rise of Rogue Pluralism in China, a briskly paced and frequently hilarious account of today’s fads and parlance in China. In no time, you will be working expressions such as “My Dad is Li Gang” and “Watch Uncle” into casual conversations and amaze your interlocutors. You can go beyond name- or phrase-dropping too: The book is jam-packed with entertaining anecdotes that attest to the burgeoning pluralism in China, the good and beautiful, and the ugly and ridiculous alike.

If you would like to sound witty and well-studied on China, but can’t ever drag yourself through the dreary pages of an academic tome, this book is perfect for you.

One reader says: Witty and irreverent, as well as scholarly and insightful, M. Eigh’s new book Revolution is a Dinner Party offers readers a rare insider’s view of China’s shifting political and cultural climate. For many Westerners, China remains an enigmatic land, so some American readers may be surprised to see clear parallels between the less desirable elements of this “rouge pluralism” in both cultures. If you’ve ever secretly wished you had the power to rid American television of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and its ilk, you’ll enjoy reading Chew’s account of the Chinese government’s attempt to suppress the career of comedian Guo Degang. Spoiler alert: It didn’t work. There’s also much to be learned from Eigh’s stories of “ordinary” Chinese citizens. I’m embarrassed to reveal that I was surprised to learn of the relaxed and tolerant attitude that the Chinese have regarding homosexuality; and both impressed and amused by the story of Luo Baogen, a man who refused to sell his home below market value in order to make way for a new highway. Revolution is a Dinner Party is must read for anyone seeking insight into the 21st Century Chinese psyche. If you’re thinking, however, that you’re settling in for a slow, if well-reasoned read, nothing could be further from the truth. Revolution is a Dinner Party is briskly paced and frequently hilarious. Personally, I can’t wait to start working expressions such as “My Dad is Li Gang” and “Watch Uncle” into my daily conversations. This book is not only a pleasure to read, it’s great to look at. The cover design is colorful and clever, and the author highlights the text with historical photos and original artwork throughout. The book is a quick read, but don’t let the page count fool you. M. Eigh conveys in 80 pages what a lesser author would fluff into 500. There’s no word wasted here. This book is a fast, fun, and fascinating read that’s not to be missed.

Who Am I? Finally, a Simple Answer the Question, How Can I Be Happy?

by David Cameron Gikandi

WHO AM I?

This is an ancient question that few people have ever answered to their satisfaction. We’ve been asking this of ourselves since nearly the dawn of civilization, but in today’s world is it even relevant anymore to try finding an answer?

The truth is that in this day and age, as it has been in every century, it MATTERS that we dispel darkness, confusion, self-doubt and lack of meaning. It matters that we understand the core of who we are.

Because otherwise, how can we even begin to learn how to be happy?

Perhaps you’ve heard of Abraham Hicks and the Law of Attraction. This was a milestone in human wisdom and a step towards real understanding of our selves.

But we need more.

We need the wisdom of our guardians, the wisdom of our elders, the wisdom of philosophy, of science and of transcendent truth.

We NEED to knowâ?¦ “who am I?”

Because quite frankly this simple question is the key to one’s happiness, to living and thriving in light rather than thrashing around in the dark.

Your entire life, how you see it, how you experience it, even what you experience, how and what you enjoy or don’t, what gives you problems or doesn’t – everything – all comes down to you.

In Who Am I? you will finally, joyfully get the simple answer the question, “How Can I Be Happy?” Simply add this book to your cart or click on “Buy now with 1-Click” and download the secret to happiness!

All purchasers of this book will also get FREE access to hear 12 of today’s top personal coaches, success mentors, relationship experts and best-selling self-help authors. Simply visit www.intentionevent2.com to claim your free ticket after your purchase.

The EU: The Truth About The Fourth Reich: How Adolf Hitler Won The Second World War

by Daniel J Beddowes

The EU was designed by Mussolini, Hitler and Funk (Hitler’s economics advisor). Other senior Nazis helped plan the EU. This book contains the details of precisely how and when they did it. Hitler invented the phrase United States of Europe. Goering devised the name European Economic Community. The euro was Funk’s idea. And Heydrich, one of the main architects of the Holocaust, published an early version of The Treaty of Rome.

Reciprocal

by Euric Santi

The term reciprocal is not more than an action that is received in the same fashion in which it is given. Hence I chose the title, because that is what our future consists of: «How much we give is the measurement of how much we will receive. »

Not all of us have the ordinary embedded in our souls; simply our surroundings fade into ourselves.

We become cheap copies of what surrounds us when we don’t know what is really inside us; our community, friends, parent- provided education (Because we all have them). When people don’t know who they are inside, absolutely everything impregnates our exterior and becomes what we may potentially be. In fact, people don’t tend to know what lies inside of them until certain grade of maturity is achieved through suffering certain phases of life. There are thousands of people in adult bodies who are still children in their minds. Reciprocal will take you through a journey, which although extremist, may be familiar to you. But at the same time it is a real journey. One that will show you the moments when your soul shines, since your smile is still radiating to the world.

We will walk through long nights, strong moments, through which we will see how life is the simple and beautiful reflection of ourselves. Life is not the bad moment that you are passing through, neither fate that seems to make everything impossible. In some point we give permission to allow negative situations to happen to us, and even when we don’t, our lamentations only fuel our resentment against life itself.

Reciprocal is not a book intended to give you supernatural powers over all the aspects of your life. In the end everything will be easier. Although you will receive internal strength, it is only up to you to manifest them externally. Everything comes through your effort and sacrifice. The lines of this book are not divinized or will fill you of special energy; they will simply open your mind so that you work with your hands and feet.

Life is not a random game, it is a reflection of what you decide to do. Life is reciprocal.

I am sure these chapters full of life and hope will wreak havoc upon your present and future. They will help you to clean up the past and gain internal peace. There is no magic, meditation, or exercises for you to relax.

Godspeed my dear friendâ?¦!

Children’s Book About Manners: A Kids Picture Book About Manners With Photos and Fun Facts

by Abigail Tyler

Abigail Tyler is pleased to present her new picture book for kids. This easy reading book helps children see the need for and benefit of manners in their day-to-day lives. It provides examples of child-world problems, and how manners help solve them.

This thoughtful picture book is written for children ages 4 to 10. It contains a variety of child-centered anecdotes. These illustrate the need for manners. Through the stories, children will discover for themselves why manners are useful. It’s illustrated with great graphic images. It offers interesting facts in simple language. Although the material appropriate for these ages, younger children will need some help. They will enjoy the book most by sharing it with a parent.

Students will encounter new words and concepts. They’ll read about how manners in every setting make life more happy and peaceful. They’ll also learn that cavemen had manners, too. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have survived.

Most of the book’s images are colored photographs. These are most effective when read on a Kindle Fire, or the Kindle Application on a tablet device, or PC. They can be viewed clearly on black and white readers. Only the color dimension is lacking.

Children will also find answers to kid-style questions.

If I was a caveman, I wouldn’t need manners. Would I? (yes, you would!)

Why do table manners even matter?

Teachers and home schooling parents will find this book a wonderful addition to their nonfiction libraries. It provides a good talking point for adults and children to discuss manners. Small stories are provided, so children can see the value of manners in action. Great illustrations bring the text to life.

BANANA CROCODILE FABLES: For children ages 5 and up

by James S. Dodee

Foreword to parents

These Fables are dedicated to children, to their endless desire to learn and their limitless potential.

There is no other social priority that is more important than educational investment in our children. Any society that decides to question this priority will pay dearly for it.

In terms of educational history and educational engineering, the most fundamental prerequisite for cognizing individual lies in simple antinomies or contradictions. Very basic games, stories and playing routines embedded in this concept of antinomies traditionally benefit children most.

Presented Fables follow this educational path; they were conceived as “supper stories” for my older son to provide some food for a thought before bedtime.

We hope you will enjoy them as much as we did.

HOMOSEXUALITY AND ELDER ABUSE: How the Search for Gay Fulfillment Can Aid in the Financial Abuse Of Senior Citizens

by JT Dillon

When an elder decides to explore their homosexual side late in life, a disastrous perfect storm could await them.

- If others around him know about his interest in homosexuality, they might feel in this day and age it’s his right to be gay and nervously leave him alone about it. This could take out of focus the red flags that would otherwise come up about the financial abuse going on in the relationship.

- Predators of the elderly tend to do whatever they need to do to better fleece their prey. If that means acting gay when they otherwise wouldn’t, so be it.

- Senior citizen’s cognitive processes likely have dulled due to age. The victim could feel (or be made to feel) that he has more in common with the predator than his family.

- If this is the first gay relationship in many years, or decades, then the very nature of the experience, and how it could be judged by others, could make him feel emotionally more vulnerable.

- His sexual orientation could now make him more vulnerable to financial blackmail.

- Like so often occurs in romantic and other types of emotional relationships, when we get close to someone, we can let our guard down.

- The senior citizen may have mobility issues such as not being able to drive. This increases his need for a friend to help him with that. He thus may feel more pressure to put up with the needs and demands of the predator for the sake of helping himself get around.

- If they live in a senior citizen facility, they may not have family and other close friends constantly watching over them. Predators cruise senior citizen facilities looking for prey. That is exactly what happened to my father.

- Without knowing it, the victim might live in one of the 50 states that have less potent elder abuse laws, thus predators gravitate there as they know they’re less likely to be persecuted for their theft.

Get this book to also get tips anyone would need to protect themselves and their senior citizen loved ones from predators of the elderly, no matter what the senior citizen’s sexual orientation is.

The Don of Wall Street (The Famiglia Vol.1)

by Senso Lee

“Forget Everything You Know About The Old School Mafia! Organized Crime Is Getting Smarter Than Ever…”

At 28, Enzo Fancelli has everything a young man can dream of. He drives a brand new Bentley Continental GT, lives in a $1 million condo and gets laid pretty much all the time with the hottest chicks in town. Why? Because he’s one of the top equity traders in Wall Street and he’s on top of the world. Needless to say, he’s a superstar. Life is a big friggin party.

But the party is about to stopâ?¦

When his father, Giovani Fancelli – a powerful and respected drug lord and mafia leader in NYC – is brutally murdered, Enzo has to face a difficult reality. He’s expected to take over the family’s business – a business that he hates and knows nothing about. A business that’s brutal, ruthless, violent, where the lambs get killed and the wolves get respect.

Now, Enzo must deal with a whole new world of violence and intimidation. He’s about to learn what struggling and hustling really mean, and he has everything to lose.

Does he have what it takes? Can he handle this secret double life? Will he be able to overcome his fears and doubts?

The Don of Wall Street is a novella (approx. 20,000 words) and the first episode of the Famiglia saga where money, power, lust and even romance will make you experience the thrill of the markets combined with the danger of the hood.

*** Warning: contains explicit language and violence – for adults only. ***

Excerpt:

Danny raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms. “Are you friggin’ kidding me? Cops are the last people on earth you want to call in this kind of situation. Your father was a wanted man. We can’t ask for help outside, we need to find a solution by ourselves.”

Enzo realized he had no idea what he was saying – of course they weren’t supposed to call the police! “Okay, then offer money. Offer something like a reward. People will talk! Promise them money in exchange for information!”

Danny shook his head. “You have no idea what you’re talking about, son. It won’t work. You can’t buy everything, okay? Maybe that’s how it works in Wall Street but in Real Streets people actually care about their lives. No amount of money can make them talk if they know they’re not supposed to talk. Get it? So now, stop trying to come up with a solution.”

Snake Eyes

by Sonny Girard

Small-time mobster Neil DiChristo is a happy-go-lucky bookmaker who prefers wine, women, and good food, not necessarily in that order, to any serious work or crime. One morning he is dragged out of his house by a team of FBI agents who have put together enough false information to throw him in prison for life and mark him as an informant to get him killed. All they want, they say, is for him to get close enough to a Russian operative to bring him down. It seems the only chink is the Russian’s gambling habit, and DiChristo’s credentials in that area give him the greatest chance of gaining the supposed spy’s confidence. With no good option available, he reluctantly agrees.

From the opening page, Neil DiChristo is catapulted into a bizarre world of intrigue, murder, and more sex and romance than is healthy for anyoneâ??where nothing is as it seems and his fate is beyond his control. All Neil wants is to be left alone. Fat chance.

“Sex and romance, mobsters and spies. What more could a girl ask for?”
â??Kim Delaney, actor, NYPD Blue (ABC TV)

The Things We Do For Love

by Greg Liles

What would you do for love, especially if your lover promised you the world? Would you compromise your integrity by adopting bad habits displayed by your lover as those of your own? Would you drink alcohol? Would you smoke pot? Would you lie to your friends and family? And would you become involved in a scheme to rip off unsuspecting people of their hard-earned money?

In “The Things We do for Love,” 25-year-old Carrie Parker found that she would do all these things and more when the love-of-her-life walked into her workplace in search of a security system.

He said he was an entrepreneur, but what Roy McAllister really was, was a conman and a smooth-talker with the ability to get whatever he wanted. When he met Carrie he decided he wanted her. But what he wanted her for was not to settle down and start a family; he wanted her for sex and to bolster his male ego.

Roy and his partner, Duane, are pot growers and together they have cultivated a strain of marijuana that will make them rich and enable them to leave the country and spend the rest of their lives under the sun in Central America. But in order to grow and harvest their plants they had to borrow money from a very unscrupulous source. And when their crops become infested with plant-eating insects, they turn to Carrie to help them raise the money to pay back their investor.

Roy wines and dines Carrie and tells her he loves her. And when she falls hopelessly in love with him, he confides in her and asks for her help. She gives Roy and Duane the names and account numbers of customers who have paid for internet and personal property protection by hiring her company, Watchdog Security, to prevent scams and intrusion, so they can break into their accounts, steal their money, and deposit it in an offshore bank account.

Their plan seems to be working but time is against them. And when their investor kills one of Roy and Duane’s drug dealers and threatens to kill them and Carrie and her family too if they don’t come up with all the money by the end of the month, Carrie has second thoughts and develops a plan of her own.

Thievery and murder and feelings of remorse are more than she can handle so Carrie does what she must to right the crimes and protect the ones she loves most.

The Claverhouse Emails v1.1

by Anon.

It’s been a few years now since I last heard from Claverhouse. He was always an enigmatic character, so I suppose it’s fitting that he just sort of faded away into nothingness again. To be honest, I’d almost forgotten all about him until I was clearing out some old computer equipment and came across an old hard drive that was just gathering dust. I was curious as to what might be on it, so I hooked it up and had a look, and there, nestled in an obscure subdirectory, was a folder entitled “The Claverhouse Emails”.

I first encountered this peculiar and enigmatic character on some old internet forums and message boards that I became a regular on back when I was a student. I used to get into long and often quite heated discussions about psychology and philosophy – the two subjects I was most interested in at the time – and Claverhouse soon made his presence known. His opinions were very different from the norm, and his skewed yet uncompromising take on things often made for uncomfortable reading. Most people there seemed to regard him as a bit of a crank, and he was largely ignored, but I found him interesting (if not always comprehensible), and we eventually struck up a friendship of sorts. We exchanged email addresses, and part of what he sent me is included here as The Claverhouse Emails.

Each email is a stand-alone story, usually around two thousand words long, which consists of a first-person narrative detailing an experience or situation explained by the protagonist. Although the stories were presented to me as truth, Claverhouse would never provide more details when questioned about either the identity of the teller or the content of the story itself. He always said that everything you need to know is there, in the person’s own words.

Claverhouse was also not forthcoming when it came to personal details about himself: although we corresponded for well over a year, I never found out his real name, where he lived or what his profession might have been. Just as with the emails themselves, he always said that those details were meaningless, and that the important thing was the stories themselves and what they could tell us about the darker extremes of human experience.

Just how true these stories are I cannot say. I suspect there’s a lot of embellishment in them, and maybe even some elements of pure fantasy. But Claverhouse was adamant that at their core they all illustrate a deeper, more universal truth: that the world is not the way you think it is.

Ultimately I think it’s best if readers make up their own minds about the stories and their murky origins. I present them here as they were presented to me, and I hope that you enjoy The Claverhouse Emails.

This edition contains three stories, which for the purposes of this collection I have entitled The White Room, Echoes and Snow.

Transmutation – Zac Tremble Investigates (The Zac Tremble Case Files)

by Chambers Mars

‘Transmutation’ is the third ‘Zac Tremble Investigates’ story. It follows, ‘Metamorphosis’, the second, and ‘Chrysalis’, the first.

The upgrade of the office is completed and Mrs Chan goes undercover.

It ends pretty well, Zac sells his painting, Lionel has a run in with a set of sharp teeth, Zac finds the heir ‘Franks’ and in the process, ‘Paul’, the street hustler, a possibly apprentice for Zac, though that sounds like the blind leading the blind!

Coming soon, ‘The Red Kimono’.

Real Gold

by David Yoo Sr

What is the one ‘something’ you want the most in your life? If you had to choose the one ‘something’ that has or would have the most value to you, what would it be? Would it be money, gold, diamonds, drugs, family, sex, power, fame, knowledge, education, religion, or would it be something else? How far would you go and what would you be willing to do to obtain it? What would you be willing to risk to keep it?
The Yin-Yang symbol is an ancient representation of the battle between the forces of Good and Evil. Ever since the first people walked on this planet, there has been a war, a struggle between these forces. The concepts of Good and Evil, Right and Wrong, have different definitions by different people depending upon the culture and customs of those you ask. Some say that it is a Morality, a set of rules, given by a ‘Higher Power’ and that these rules should be obeyed. There are others who say that they are ideas, social norms, with flexible boundaries and that theses rules have evolved from the minds of people, who themselves have evolved from ‘Star Dust’ up to being the ‘Masters of our own destiny’ as they say we are now.
Whatever you believe about Good and Evil, you will find that there are some people who are willing do anything and stop at nothing to get what they want. Then there are others, who’s job it is to hunt down and stop those who have no regard for the laws of society or the lives and property of others.
Join in the chase with the team of FBI Agents who are trying to solve a mysterious series of ‘Perfect Crimes’. Always a couple of steps behind and racing against the clock, the team works at finding and assembling the clues of the puzzle which holds the answer to stopping the criminals before more innocent citizens lose their lives.
In the end, everyone involved discovers what means the most to them and just how far each of them are willing to go obtain that most valuable ‘something’. In the process, they also learn what price they are willing to pay to try keep it. That ‘something’ which is called ‘Real Gold’.

The Children Must Feed

by Randall Jackson

To all who may read horror this was my first attempt at writing and though it is in the wrong format at it’s core it’s a story worth checking out. In the classic fashion of (Children of the corn) I hope you enjoy and yes I got some training in proper writing for my next short story. Thank you and enjoy. A group of mentally-challenged children on a new drug get infected with a strain of rabies carried by locusts and devour an entire town… and all who arrive after. Set predominantly in the small town of Sanford, a group of college students go there to start their own “ghost hunter” type show. THE VERMEER PARADIGM

by David Schaefer

His regular customers call him a magician, a bartending savant…never forgets a face or a preferred drink…has a ton of different costumes, so he never looks the same from one night to the next…never hurries because he’s never behind…knows all the best jokes…plays the Ukulele…all the women love him…AND…he has a birthday every few months, regular as a clock.

Wendell Shaw was a bartender by night and a college student studying Fine Arts by day. He seemed to have it all…looks, brains, money, a hot little car, a fantastic apartment…until one day when his life just seemed to veer off course.

Nanette and Bridget are also Fine Arts students at the same college. They are sisters, and two of the most beautiful girls Wendell has ever seen. They seem to have it all, as well, but are not looking forward to the boring summer laid out ahead of them. Wendell doesn’t really know them, except that he sees them around school now and then…but he’d like to. Bridget has the talent to paint pictures like one of the old Grandmasters. She likes to forge masterpieces and give them away as presents.

Robby is a colleague of Wendell’s from work. One day he sees an article in a newspaper about a big art theft from a museum in San Diego and muses that stealing valuable paintings would be much better than going through life waiting on tables at a steakhouse. Wendell is quick to agree.

Professor Carr, a Fine Arts expert, seems much more like an underworld character than a man of letters. When their classroom discussion turns to art theft, he picks up immediately on Wendell’s thoughts on the subject. On an unexpected visit to Wendell’s bar, he throws out a baited hook. Or was it the other way around?

As they say, it was a perfect storm. A plot is hatched to forge paintings that were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston fifteen years before, a crime that is still not solved. Bridget will paint the pictures, Professor Carr will supervise Bridget’s work and make the arrangements for the sale, Robby will be the muscle and drive the getaway car, and Wendell and Nanette will be the front people handling the exchange. It is a perfect plan. Since no one has seen the paintings for so long, the whole scheme just seems to be a lot like taking candy from a baby…right up until things begin to go terribly wrong.

I a fast-paced tale set in Boston, Los Angeles, Sausalito and the Oregon coast, David Schaefer has thrown a new twist into the shroud of mystery surrounding the biggest art theft in history.

Derek Christian, Antichrist

by Robert Railey

The original list of entries for this collection had to be greatly expanded so as to include a much wider range of style and content. And as such, it was decided that the stories with themes of murder and fantasy should be more liberally laced with at least a modicum of historical significance so as to make them more believable.

At first, the reader might be inclined to believe that the plots in this volume tend to deal mainly with the more tragic side of humanity. In the end, however, it should become perfectly clear that the universal message throughout these stories is moral rather than vengeful.
