Fifty Shades of Rampant Royal Rascals: Cleopatra to Queen Victoria, Caligua to Charles II: More Love, Lust and Debauchery inside the World’s Royal Palaces

by T.S Wiseman

The blue blood of royalty offers you many advantages in life; wealth, privilege and power. It appears that it also gives those royal rascals a rampant sexual appetite!

In the fourth book in her series T.S Wiseman looks a variety of sex scandals involving historical figures as diverse as Caligula and Queen Victoria. Yes, you read that right, Queen Victoria, the very personification of prudishness, was involved in not one, but two scandals after the death of her beloved Prince Albert. The Roman Emperor Caligula has a slightly more scandalous reputation than Queen Victoria, having married one-hundred times during his reign. In fact, Caligula had such a reputation that the “adult” movie industry chose to make a film about him in the 1970’s.

The sex life of the famous last Pharaoh of Egypt, Cleopatra is also looked at. Cleopatra was a woman that almost brought the Roman Empire to its very knees with her beauty. Cleopatra isn’t the only Femme Fatal in this book; the niece of Henry VIII, Frances Grey, technically second in line to the throne to the throne, got herself involved in a sex scandal with her relationship with her master of the horse. A few years later, another master of the horse, Robert Dudley, landed himself in troubled waters with the Queen when he feel for a younger, prettier Elizabeth look-a-like.

Wisemen also looks at some more standard figures when royal sex scandals are mentioned. Charles II and his brother, James II, both took advantage of their position and power to bed as many women as they possibly could. Another set of brothers that also enjoyed the pleasures that their position granted them were the children of George V, this group of four boys could have invented the word “playboy” in the 1920’s.

Finally, the life of the most-notorious figure to ever have had the triregnum of the papacy placed on his head – Rodrigo Borgia. The Borgia’s were the ultimate crime family, and they kept everything and we mean everything firmly within the family.

Like all of the popular books in this series, Wiseman once again writes in a fun, light-hearted way that oozes entertainment!

Harry: A Prince Among Men

by Nigel Cawthorne

Prince Harry has always been a controversial figure, frequently making the headlines for both good and bad reasons.

The second son of the heir to the throne has always enjoyed a privileged position.

While the elder son is burdened from birth with the prospect of the succession, his younger brother enjoys all the trappings of royalty without any of the responsibilities.

Prince Harry has often taken full advantage of this and the tabloids have dubbed him the “party prince”.

But, after losing his beloved mother, Princess Diana, at a young age, and being plagued by tabloids throughout his life, it is not surprising.

His turning point came when he proved himself on the front line in Afghanistan.

He has worked hard to become an effective charity fundraiser, both for children and AIDS victims in Africa, and for his injured comrades in arms.

And because of that he has turned his public image around to become the â??people’s prince’.

â??Harry: A Prince Among Men’ tells the story of Harry’s progress, from his wild younger days to his heroic feats in recent years.

“Harry comes across as humane, humorous and sometimes vulnerable in this lively, insightful biography” – Holly Kinsella, author of Just The Way You Are.

Nigel Cawthorne is the author of some eighty books – and a major contributor to at least twenty more, including â??Jeremy Clarkson: Motormouth’, â??Che Guevara: The Last Conquistador’ and â??The Empress of South America’. He lives in Bloomsbury, London’s literary area.

Cary Grant 33: 33 Films of Original Cool with Summary, Selected Dialogue, and Trivia

by Ugur Akinci

Over 36,000 words.

A comprehensive appraisal of the legendary movie star Cary Grant, the “Original Cool”, through his 33 selected films.

Each chapter includes a detailed and critical analysis of the film and the cast list.

Also included in most chapters are the plot points, selected dialog, and film-related trivia.

Plus, there are three appendices at the end shedding light on various aspects of Grant’s films.

Cary Grant was cool before cool was invented.

He defined what a “cool guy” meant in the mid- 20th century by owning the concept while busy reinventing himself in America as a hand-in-pocket, unflappable Leading Man. No one carried a tux or delivered a lighthearted joke better than he did.

His early beginnings in Bristol, England was certainly anything but “cool.” Out of a miserable childhood he redefined and re-forged himself as the supreme stylist of Old Hollywood.

Here are some highlights from his illustrious career:

Born in 1904 as Archibald Alexander Leach. He appears in several Broadway musicals as “Archie Leach” before becoming “Cary Grant” in 1931.

1932 – Appears in a lead role against the marvelous Marlene Dietrich in “Blonde Venus.”

1933 – Grant’s climb to stardom is off to a good start with Mae West choosing him as the lead actor in two of her blockbuster films, “She Done Him No Wrong” and “I’m No Angel.”

1937 – He scores his first comedy hit, “Topper.” The same year, he establishes his credentials as a romantic, suave but at the same time funny leading man with his film “The Awful Truth.”

1941 – Alfred Hitchcock, who referred to Grant as “the only actor I ever loved in my whole life,” hires Grant to appear in “Suspicion.” Grant would continue to act in other successful Hitchcock films like “Notorious” (1946) and “To Catch a Thief” (1955).

1959 – With Hitchcock’s critically acclaimed blockbuster “North By Northwest” (1959) Grant becomes a matinee idol and a household name.

1966 – After a long and successful career, Grant appears in his last film, “Walk Don’t Run,” a lighthearted comedy.

Grant left behind a legacy of films that move us even today with their romantic comedy highlights and his trademark “cool” and unflappable persona that survived well into the 21st century.

Here is an homage to Grant’s extraordinary career through a summary and critical analysis of his 33 films.

Enjoy!
