The Universe Builders: Bernie and the Putty

by Steve LeBel

What if God got a C- in Universe Building 101?

(Well, not our God, of course. One of those other guys…)

Dive into a humorous fantasy world unlike anything you have imagined. A world of gods and goddesses who build universes for a living. Are they all-powerful and all-knowing? Well, not exactly…

As Bernie graduates from God School, he is thrilled to land his dream job as a builder of universes. His first assignment is to build his own universe. Determined but unsure, bright but without confidence, Bernie forges ahead, only to find problems everywhere. Mysterious asteroids, unexplained volcanoes, shifting continents and more lead him to suspect sabotage. But who could sabotage his universe? Only another god could do that.

It’s god vs. god, guile vs. goodness, where only one of them plays by the rules. Bernie must find a way to outwit his vicious foe. If he fails, it will cost him everything.

A fascinating tale of good vs. evil and a young hero on a journey of self-discovery in an original, humorous, fantastic wrapper.

***WARNING: This title contains strong language and sensual love scenes. Might offend some readers.***

The first book in the Phantom Warriors series, Bacchus grabs your attention on page one with some sizzling sex that’s sure to burn the sheets, it’s so hot. Ms. Summers quickly whisks you away to planet Zaron, to earth, then back to Zaron once again without you realizing you’ve left the couch. This is an enjoyable story that promises to be the first in a series of Phantom men finding their mates on planet earth. Bacchus’s strong domineering nature is offset by his deep feelings for Carrie; while Carrie’s past pain makes her a perfect candidate for Bacchus’ tender touch. Their sex is arousing, explosive and sure to send anyone to their knees. The story’s pace is quick from beginning to end without a sag in sight, which kept me easily engrossed in Bacchus and Carrie’s world. I eagerly await any follow up books from Ms. Summers to come. –Just Erotic Romance Reviews

Ssssss!!!!!! I’m still trying to settle down so I can give an intelligent review of this sssensational story of a shifter with the forked tongue and a domination complex. How easy would life be if men knew exactly what women wanted and ensured they received it even when they weren’t being honest with themselves? In this new series by Jordan Summers, she introduces us to another alien clan that looks to be hotter than her Atlantean race of people. Bacchus is a male with extraordinary powers who is unafraid to use them when it comes to getting what he wants, which happens to be Carrie. Carrie is a woman who has allowed her animalistic side to be hidden and she’s in dire need of a strong male to bring it forward. This book is sweltering and just what you need to get the blood flowing and tingling. –Falling Angel Reviews

Zombie Angst

by Jim Couper

A reeking bundle of rags washes up on the lakeshore of a small Canadian town. On wobbly legs it rises to a second life. Death by drowning has preserved a touch of brain function: it manages to slur a few syllables. The creature’s first meal and the town’s first homicide come courtesy of an elderly lady walking alone. Licking blood from scabby lips, the creature then heads home to reunite with its wife and kids.

Electromagnetic waves wake other dead who head for a trailer park for a midnight snack. Police chief Jane Dougherty and partner investigate the murders: a motorcycle gang vendetta? Underworld trade in body parts?

Energy trickling through the ground hits a cautious cabal of vampires who launder money by quietly operating a local bar. They desperately need the blood that zombies spill and are forced to create a blood bank in their wine cellar with imprisoned customers as unwilling donors.

A second drowning victim with clearer, more evil, thoughts coordinates the rise of zombiedom. Citizens who get eaten are buried and 12 hours later rise as energized zombies with hollows where guts and brains once were. The horde grows exponentially, takes over a school and demands a super-size exchange of one kid for three adults.

Police, led by the Chief Dougherty, battle zombies who fight the army who combat vampires who conflict with posse.

I’ll Be Seeing You

by Rob Morris

Glowing fingers of grasping flame clawed the ball turret’s armored window; I felt the heat through the cracked glass. Flames poured from The Phoenix’s left inboard nacelle, blackening and consuming the wing. My electric system was shot out, the ball jammed. I was trapped, hanging from the belly of a B-17 Flying Fortress at twenty thousand feet and twenty degrees below zero. My nostrils burned from oily smoke and the cordite of hundreds of fifty-caliber shells that leapt from the guns. My foot pedals and the controls on my firing arms were dead, the hydraulics gone. Whether I’d live or die depended on Polansky or Carson, up in the waist. One of them would have to crank me up manually.

Jack Jones, a man haunted by the loss of his B-17 bomber pilot father in World War Two shortly before his birth, travels back in time through a Native American portal with Blackfeet Medicine Man Alvin Tailfeathers and his coyote Leon. Together they are transported to 1942 America, where Jack trains before being assigned to a heavy bomber group in England and flying harrowing combat missions as a B-17 ball turret gunner. His time-traveling mission’s goal will save one man’s life while costing another his. This work of historical fiction by acclaimed military historian Rob Morris takes the reader through all aspects of training, combat, and the prisoner of war experience, ending with an 89-day forced winter march and a thrilling climax that has more twists and turns than a juking Messerschmitt being jumped by a P-51!! Filled with memorable characters, intense combat scenes, and humor, this new novel truly brings to the page what it was like to fly and fight in the American bomber war at a time when the odds of surviving 25 missions was one in three.
