I wanted to make a cookbook full of recipes that would be useful if there was an extended power outage, so every recipe in this book falls into this criteria:

The only cooking method is on the stove top, & a lot of these recipes don’t even require that.

Electricity for different tools isn’t needed. Sure, food processors & blenders might make some steps easier, but it’s possible to make every recipe in here with just basic kitchen tools.

Why that criteria? I’ve spent a year living in a van, most of that without running the fridge. That’s basically the way I live, & I’ve put a lot of work into finding recipes that fit that criteria; while searching, I realized that it’s actually pretty hard to find recipes like that – do you have any idea how many ‘no bake’ cookies get put in the oven? Or how many ‘no cook’ recipes require things like melted chocolate or boiling water? It makes me want to scream!

But I figured that I couldn’t be the only person out there who would like a collection of recipes that can be made with limited tools available.
