OUTCAST Ops: Game of Drones (OUTCAST Ops Book 1) (OUTCAST Ops Series)

by Rick Jones

When a highly sophisticated terror cell steals a contingent of deadly Reaper drones from a U.S. military base, no one has to wonder for long what they’ll be used for. As America’s own top military technology is turned against its homeland, it looks as though, for the first time in history, the president will have no choice but to give in to terrorist demands.

Enter OUTCAST (Operational Undertaking To Counteract Active Stateside Threats)–six ex-operatives from six of America’s most powerful organizations. Each has been unceremoniously released by their respective former employer for alleged misdoings that leave their pride wounded but their essential skill-sets untouched. After uniting over their shared bond of dismissal from the nation’s most elite outfits, the disgruntled spooks realize that they can work together like never before to take down threats to their beloved country, a country that branded them as outcasts but needs them now more than ever.

As a nauseating wave of drone strikes brings the eastern seaboard to its knees, OUTCAST is hell-bent on showing America that their way isn’t the best way–it’s the only way.

Game of Drones is Book 1 of the OUTCAST Ops series. Book 2 is The Poseidon Initiative. They can be read in any order.

BALADA: Then from the night of memory in answer to her summons steal: The ground breaks, the oceans boil and the heavens tremble, as the armies march to war (BALADA: A Symphony of Eternity Book 5)

by Solea Razvan

“A great new dawn is upon us! The imperial grip on our great nation has received a devastating and crippling blow and now the hour is upon us, we must act now and unite under one banner and drive the enemy out of our motherland!” he added while waving his arms dramatically for effect, which unfortunately for him only Mgathu, Kusas and Thoras seemed interested in his words, and even they felt that his words where a bit too cheesy to be taken seriously.

“The Empire has suffered a severe blow to its reputation, but it’s just that, a blow. It leads no lasting damage, it doesn’t kill the Empire, it doesn’t cripple it, it barely even bruised it!” Alefran said and since he was the most renowned of all those present, his statement carried a lot of weigh and with the exception of the Carnetsars, everyone at the table nodded in agreement.

“That bruise, as you call it cost the empire a great deal, 50.000 soldiers lost, an elite unit at that, and if that wasn’t enough we have reports that anything between 70 and 90 percent of the chariots, artillery and other heavy equipment that where present on the planet where transferred to the corps, and with it perished in the subsequent eruption, you have greatly underestimated the will of our people to fight colonel!”

Fragment from the log files, of the meating before the Juseria planetary siege.

BALADA: The climbing moon pours in and floods the room with her voluptuous light;: With the first clash of blades, blood is drawn; And with it, the Galaxy … (BALADA: A Symphony of Eternity Book 4)

by Solea Razvan

The great warp storm that hit them during the battle would quickly be told by the sentients that fought there, and with each telling it would go from recollection, to story, to tale, to history, to myth and finally legend in less than a few weeks.

For many people the storm was in fact the mythical Godwind.

The Godwind was the name given to a warp storm during the Battle of Dodecaziat, where a great warp storm completely smashed the Commonwealth fleet, right before the imperial fleet arrived and destroyed what was left of their opponents.

With so few losses and their stores still full, the leader of the fleets Grand Admiral Chi Han and Chief of Staff High Admiral von Motel launched a raiding campaign that managed to vanquish another five fleets, capture 30.000.000 S.A.P.I’s (Standard Annual Planetary Income, which one unit is about 90 trillion galactions) worth of materials and gave the clear message to the entire Galaxy that the old world was over.

And with the tales of the Godwind blowing once more, the Fox of Marengo’s star would only continue to rise.

Metternich during what is now called the Ear campaign had demonstrated for the first time the traits that would make him a legend.

BALADA: The 5th and 6th Pillars: Even the greatest of wars is nothing but a single flicker of white, next to the golden light of the smallest star, within … galaxies. (BALADA: A Symphony of Eternity)

by Solea Razvan

“How many ships are after us?”

“We are analyzing it this very moment sir, about 800 waitâ?¦â?¦.no, make that 1.200!”

“Not bad! A little small when compared to Balisha, but I suppose we can’t be picky about our prey.”

“No waitâ?¦â?¦â?¦we have 5.000, no 6.000 ships after us!”

“Get me an exact number sailor!” Oscar half shouted in surprise and semi panic towards his pulsar officer as the numbers where becoming rather worrisome.

“7.000, 8.000, 9.000, 12, 14, 17, by the Creator! Over 18.000 ships are after us!”

That number made Oscar panic for a second, before he quickly reigned himself in and calmly analyzed the situation and came up with an appropriate response.

“Get me an open channel broadcast over my division!”

The comm’s officer complied and gave him the microphone crystal.

“To all ships, this is you division commander speaking; You may feel uneasy about this situation, but this is not the first time we have been chased by such a force and this time we not only have reinforcements with us, but also Zula, Gerula and Cornelia are fighting alongside us as well!”

“We have a plan for this, but we can only pull it off if you keep calm and maintain order, so follow our commands and we can crush these tonurs!” Oscar word’s where transmitted through the comm’s crystals to everywhere around his formation, from the other ships deck and hall windwakers, to the personal comm crystals of the sailors and soldiers aboard.

A few moments passed and he could hear the echo of a cheer coming from his ships corridors, signaling that his little speech had worked.

“That should keep them in line, at least for now. Still, I can’t blame them from being nervous!”

Commodore Raqianus thought to himself as he gazed at the map depicting their fleet and the enemy.

“At least there’s plenty of glory for all to go around.” he thought as the sensors started to register enemy fire.

War in the Streets: Part 5 of Stories from the War (Friends of my Enemy)

by Autumn M. Birt

Continue the military dark fantasy series Friends of my Enemy with War in the Streets, Part 5 of Stories from the War.

Pilot Jared Vries crash lands his plane on the edge of the front line with only one town and a handful of Guard soldiers between him and the FLF. An airman caught in a losing ground battle, Jared survives thanks to Officer Derrick Eldridge, whose skills kept him alive during months of front line fighting. They are abilities that Jared quickly learns to emulate, especially when the order comes to hold the town despite scant weapons and few soldiers.

It is the fall of 2060 and Europe hasn’t won any battles against her new enemy, the FLF. No country in the world has. The time has come to change that.

Set in Europe, this series unfolds through the intersecting lives of a small handful of people and explores adult themes, both dark and hopeful, of friendship, romance, and family, including how these influences direct everyday choices, which ripple outwards to impact governments on the verge of war. Because not all influence is good, and not all decisions can be made in time.
