by Mara Urnoba

The Ghosts of Nagasaki

by Daniel Clausen

One night a foreign business analyst in Tokyo sits down in his spacious high rise apartment and begins typing something. The words pour out and exhaust him. He soon realizes that the words appearing on his laptop are memories of his first days in Nagasaki four years ago. Nagasaki was a place full of spirits, a garrulous Welsh roommate, and a lingering mystery. Somehow he must finish the story of four years ago–a story that involves a young Japanese girl, the ghost of a dead Japanese writer, and a mysterious island. He must solve this mystery while maneuvering the hazards of middle management, a cruel Japanese samurai, and his own knowledge that if he doesn’t solve this mystery soon his heart will transform into a ball of steel, crushing his soul forever. Though he wants to give up his writing, though he wants to let the past rest, within his compulsive writing lies the key to his salvation.

Memorias de Gloria Opacada (Spanish Edition)

by Rodrigo Lichtle V.

Nights of the Moon: A tale of dreams and destiny

by Dan Djurdjevic

In a series of nightly letters written over the Muslim holy month of Ramadan (the ‘Nights of the Moon’), Leila reflects on her time on Irwin Island: the long hours, the isolation and loneliness, and the arrival of the charismatic, if distant and troubled, Edin. As her account unfolds, it reveals the deeply complex web of relationships on the island – and the surprising role Edin plays in them. Against a background of storms, looming violence and growing mental instability, Leila’s letters show how, despite her introversion and social awkwardness, she is drawn into the world of her co-workers in a way that will change their lives forever.

This Spy in France (Retimer series Book 6)

by Michael Angliss

George–or Jürgen–Drechsler is new to the ranks of the ASIO field from serving on board Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Toowoomba as a young Naval Commanding Officer. Just two years ago having been crimping piracy and drug-trafficking under Operation MANITOU (Australia’s part in an international effort, called Combined Maritime Forces, to combat sea routes of terrorism-funding), today Drechsler seems the perfect choice to accompany ASIO’s best secret agent, Luthan Fennes, aka the ‘Retimer’, on a mission to investigate intel reports that a French magnate is planning to disrupt Western fuel security…

Fuel security–along with several other top economic necessities–forms the lifeblood of the everyday functions on home soil of even the least wealthy of countries. It is the fuel, or more aptly the passage of this from oil-exporting countries, that keeps trucks delivering to industry, petrol stations and shops… Without it, society is soon halted. Australia stores but one week’s worth of fuel in preparation for any cessation of its major fuel supplies… And the magnate may be about to cause just that. But is he succeeding? And if so, who is helping him?

L’impronta del destino (Italian Edition)

by Elisa S. Amore

Londra, 1720.
