An Illusion of Normal: The True Story of a Child’s Survival in a Home Tormented by Mental Illness (Volume 1)

by Linda Schoonover

“Heart wrenching but so well written, I couldn’t put it down.” William Collins, Author

An Illusion of Normal is the riveting and award-winning memoir of the life of a child whose mother suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. At times, shocking and heartbreaking, the author’s story reveals the darkness in a home tormented by a parent’s mental illness and the light that shows her the way out. An inspirational story for anyone searching for hope to overcome life’s difficult circumstances.
In an era when speaking of mental illness was taboo, the author learns from an early age not to talk about her mother’s bizarre behavior. Now her mother’s escape from a would-be killer threatens to expose the family secret. They are not a normal family. After her mother’s extended stays in mental institutions, the author accepts that her Mom will never be normal. That, she assumes, makes her abnormal as well. She wrestles against her father’s abuse and constant shaming of her, her faith, and her friends. Will she ever feel normal in an abnormal family? Did God make a mistake? Why is she in a home where she doesn’t feel loved or accepted? Is there a way for her to break away from the shame that holds her captive?

Christmas Lights: A Collection of Inspiring Christmas Novellas

by Vikki Kestell

Christmas Lights: A Potpourri of Light Christmas Reads From Four of Your Favorite Authors

Amazon best-selling authors Chautona Havig and Vikki Kestell join debuting authors Cathe Swanson and April Hayman to present Christmas Lights, a collection of four Christmas-themed novellas. From historical romance to contemporary cozy mysteries and Christmas wonder, these four “light” reads will warm your heart and ignite your Christmas spirit!

The Heart of Joy (Vikki Kestell): Joy Michaels, grieving mother and widow, resides in an aging but remarkable Denver home known locally as Palmer House: a most extraordinary refuge for young women rescued from prostitution. Joy and her mother, Rose Thoresen, share the responsibilities of ministering to and mentoring the young women who live under Palmer House’s roof.

But now Joy faces an agonizing decision: Remain true to the memory of her first love or open her heart to the possibility of new love? And she wonders, “Can true, enduring love happen twice in a lifetime?”

Snow Angels (Cathe Swanson): When Lisa Marsh is roped into serving Thanksgiving dinner at the local community center, she meets lively teenagers, stubbornly independent veterans, eccentric elderly people, and one particularly rude and scruffy homeless man named Pete. She sets out to find him a decent job and make him respectableâ??whether he likes it or notâ??but her small project of helping Pete snowballs into an extraordinary Christmas ministry. And the vagabond can be very charming when he wants to be…

Trip the Light Fantastic (April Hayman): Lance “Trip” Devereaux is an FBI agent tasked with the nearly impossible job of tailing and, hopefully, arresting Landry Crawford, the wiliest conman east of the Mississippi River. But during his investigation, things go horribly wrong for the klutzy G-man. Will Trip nab his man in time for Christmas? Or will he be left out in the cold?

Christmas Stalkings (Chautona Havig): Wendy Nabity is known for her superfluity of cats and her “seven-tree obsession” every Christmasâ??but when strange things happen around her house, it appears someone is out to get her! Revel in comedy, suspense, and a garnish of romance.

Yoga Everywhere: Yoga Poses for Any Situation (Yoga, Mindfulness, How to Yoga, Yoga for Beginners, Stress Management, Yoga Poses, Happiness, Personal Growth, Spirituality Book 1)

by Joschi Schwarz

Yoga Everywhere

Have you ever wanted to practice yoga anywhere? Really – anywhere? The truth is – you can! With the advent of Instagram being mainstream in popular culture, there are photos of people doing yoga in different places all over the world – from the tops of Machu Picchu to the airport to maybe even the side of a road. We are here to give you some ideas about places that may actually not be so strange to strike a pose – yoga pose that is – and hopefully you will be inspired to try it out yourself!

If you have you ever been somewhere completely random and thought â??Man, I could really use some yoga right now’, this guide will give you some tips for doing yoga in public and perhaps sometimes strange places. Maybe you’re in line to check your bags at the airport. Maybe you are about to get blood work done. You may even be waiting for a hot date at the bar. Well why not break free of your social conditioning and just try it? You may be surprised at the results and how good it makes you feel!

Yoga, at its core, is an energetic system derived from ancient Hindu texts. The word “yoga” means union, and in this case, it means union of the mind, body, and spirit. Essentially the physical practice of yoga prepares the body and mind for seated meditation, during which transformational states may be achieved. Whether you are an enlightenment seeker or not, these small glimpses of bliss have been scientifically proven to reduce stress. The practice of yoga consists of breathwork and physical postures that are generally focused on stretching, although many of them are strengthening as well.

Before we get into it though, there are a few things we need to take into consideration before we go into a full blown yoga practice. If you’re in a public space, chances are the floors may not be clean and that may prevent you from doing your Downward Dogs or vinyasas. But all hope is not lost- because there are plenty of standing postures you can do! Other things to watch out for in places such as airports and restaurants- if you get the urge to bust a yoga move- is people, drinks, and food. Remember, yoga is ultimately about cultivating mindfulness, so try not to get in people’s way, hit anyone on accident, knock anybody over, spill a drink (especially hot coffee! Although I’m sure the beer drinkers would not be too happy either), or knock over some food (or spill your own). Also, if you happen to be doing an intense hike and decide to do a crazy arm balance say on the edge of the Grand Canyon- check your safety and make sure you really know what you’re doing to prevent any accidents! These are just some tips of caution you may need to consider when doing yoga anywhere.

Welcome to the fun world of Yoga Everywhere!

In Yoga Everywhere you will learn how to practice yoga in different places:

  • Yoga at a Coffee Shop
  • Yoga at a Doctor’s Office
  • Yoga When Traveling
  • Get Outside
  • Take a Tour of Your Town

  • Yoga at Home
  • And much, much more!

There is no reason in today’s world that our yoga has to be confined to our mats, studios, and classes. Your yoga practice does not have to be a secret! It is something that you can do anywhere, any time.

Welcome to the human history you didn’t know. A history which the governments of the world don’t want you to learn, where humans were pawns of an advanced extraterrestrial race which reshaped our evolutionary cycle through inter-breeding, science and technology. All of us have their DNA.
Thirty thousand years ago, two great ancient alien civilizations, the Marradians and the Anunnaki, lived in peace. As much peace as two rivals could muster carving up the Galaxy. Living on the planet Nibiru, they were cousins before the Great Parting, a brutal war fueled by the Anunnaki’s insistence that inferior life forms, if gently guided, could thrive in their own endemic image, while Marradians only believed in fealty, the boot and the death stick, or S’ar.
The Anunnaki who had visited Earth thousands of years ago were impossibly handsome. They were considered Gods among the ancient Sumerians, and are mentioned in the Bible as the Nephilim – The Fallen Angels. The Marradians are not all that handsome, but they look human and intermingle easily with us.
The Anunnaki do not currently live on Earth. The Marradians, on the other hand, have created stations on Earth. Many of them lived here, mostly underwater, for thousands of years. In their minds, the Marradians own the Earth, and the humans are interlopers. They have bases underwater, in the Pacific, near Puerto Rico, and under Alaska’s glaciers. The objects we call USO (Unidentified Submerged Objects) are their dangerous crafts.
This is just a sliver of the wealth of knowledge we’ll be sharing with you. Weâ??ll use ancient texts and new research to finally bring the history, culture, traditions, religion, politics, food, science, technology, songs, sexual practices and customs of the Marradians, along with parallel information about the Anunnaki race since the two cousinsâ?? story is so bitterly entwined.
