by Hannah Weaver
In an Amish community in Ohio, the one I was born in, there is a terrible old house in the northeast corner. It is hellish – the place were night-black deeds must have taken place – and the source of my nightmares.
The elders in my community do not speak of it much. But when they do, it is only in whispers. For its mysteries are unknown, and they must comfort themselves with unfounded superstition; and they deter the youth with insidious tales of its haunting.
Then one lonesome night:
“But there was the star, seemingly suspended by heaven to lure me to that house, holding the power of irresistible enchantment, drawing me in as the lodestone attracts a particle of iron. My longing was beyond the power of opposition, and I changed my course and walked towards the house.”
This is an Amish Mystery book that also fits into the Christian mystery and cozy mystery category. This book is wholesome with no offensive elements and is suitable for people of all ages.
