The Soul: A Journey Into a Heart

by David Sundquist

This book is a collection of poetry describing love, hope, despair, and life’s lessons. Within each poem, there is a message that is directed directly to the reader’s heart. I believe poetry is an emotional display of words. A glimpse into the author’s soul and the heart of the world around us.The works contained within this book ask the reader to open his or her mind and allow themselves to see the world from a different perspective. A perspective that is both gloomy at times but ultimately where love prevails.

It is my sincere hope that when the you read each poem within this work, you will take away a message that will affect your heart. This message may be different for every person but I believe is important that the reader receives something meaningful from the works. Poetry should not just be words thrown on paper, but should convey feeling and meaning. I believe poetry is an emotional display of the heart. These works are not just words I placed on a piece of paper, but instead, emotions placed out there for the whole world to see. A glimpse into my soul. It is my genuine wish that each and every reader take away something meaningful from the poems within this book. And when you eventually finish reading, from the first page to the last, you will hopefully realize that all the poems have a message as a whole too. A message of hope, love and great things to come. This book is a glimpse into my soul. I sincerely hope you will enjoy.
