Civil Disobedience

by Henry David Thoreau

Resistance to Civil Government (Civil Disobedience) is an essay by American transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau that was first published in 1849. In it, Thoreau argues that individuals should not permit governments to overrule or atrophy their consciences, and that they have a duty to avoid allowing such acquiescence to enable the government to make them the agents of injustice. Thoreau was motivated in part by his disgust with slavery and the Mexican-American War (1846-1848).

The Communist Manifesto

by Friedrich Engels

Manifesto of the Communist Party (German: Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei), often referred to as The Communist Manifesto, was first published on February 21, 1848, and is one of the world’s most influential political manuscripts. Commissioned by the Communist League and written by communist theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, it laid out the League’s purposes and program. The Manifesto suggested a course of action for a proletarian (working class) revolution to overthrow the bourgeois social order and to eventually bring about a classless and stateless society, and the abolition of private property.

TRUMP´S SPEECH

by Angel Gamez

PROLOGUE

For me it is a great pleasure and honor to be able to write this prologue for a book by a great friend and outstanding citizen and compatriot, Ángel Gámez.

This is a serious, controversial and scientific book that analyzes the secrets that leaders use to move the masses, starting with their immediate environment, to a country that can exceed billions of people.

I invite you to read each paragraph, idea, and segment of this book carefully-paused-thoughtfully and minutely, whether it is your goal to be one of the business leaders, celebrity, and influential politician who is still writing his story of leadership, but who many also call one of the greatest frauds, egomaniac, xenophobic and failure of modern life.

I reiterate it is not a political party’s book; it is a book that analyzes the communicational element, as one of the great keys that divide the leaders from the great thinkers of history.

This book may well be about Jesus, Hitler, Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Martin Luther, Betancourt, Mohammed, Gandhi, Bolivar, Washington, Napoleon, Gomez, Guzman Blanco, Miranda, Cesar, Alexander the Great, Paul, Ghenguis Khan, Fidel Castro , Lenin, Nelson, Castro or yourself.

This book launches us a challenge, decide by our own appreciation at what level of oratory comes the current Republican president: 1) Mouth-Ear, 2) Cerebral, 3) Emotional, or 4) Spiritual, so the levels of oratory is an important point on which we recommend to emphasize study, because that will define what kind of leader you want to be, a manipulator of communication techniques, or someone who stays forever in the memory and heart of the people.

Another point to pay attention to so that you make the most of this book and all the books of Ángel Gámez (The Communication of the Leaders, The Oratory of the Leaders, Leaders Special Edition, Culture of Leadership, The Conspiracy of Leaders, …) is to analyze how to frame speeches and use the metaphor for this purpose, especially I invite you to observe as Trump does, because here you will find one of the solid keys to your communication success.

Without further reference to the moments, I invite you to enjoy this practical and simple literary work, which will be just as if you were speaking with the author, because part of his soul has been imprinted on it.

And remember that leadership is not to use it, but to serve those around us, that the best way to exercise leadership is to help others and give them tools so that they can be independent and free from us, so that they can achieve in their time, with the resources at his disposal, his own visions-missions-goals and goals in Life.

The world is waiting for an Education Revolution to be unleashed, to give us a Motherland: Free, Prosperous and Enterprising, where we all achieve Glory-Success and Victory.

The Prince

by Niccolo Machiavelli

One of the most influential books on statecraft ever written, Niccolò Machiavelli’s 1532 treatise The Prince invented modern political philosophy and gave the world the term Machiavellian. It was read by Spain’s King Charles V and King Henry VIII of England and has been influential on world leaders for five centuries. The short but powerful guide outlines a pragmatic path for a prince to be successful, a formula for political victory that is direct and unemotional. The methodology has been called cold and cynical and yet The Prince captures a great deal of truth about human psychology.

Second Treatise of Government

by John Locke

John Locke argues that all men are created equal in the state of nature by God. In his seminal essay Second Treatise of Government he outlines an entire theory of civil society. Locke explores a number of themes such as conquest and slavery, property, representative government, and the right of revolution. He argues that the protection of life, liberty, and property can be achieved by a parliamentary process that protects, not violates, one’s rights.

Justin Trudeau: 47 Character-Revealing Quotes from Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister and What They Mean for You (Canadian Politicians Book 1)

by Christopher di Armani

Amazon #1 Bestseller!

An Honest Examination of Justin Trudeau’s Leadership

Are you a concerned Canadian citizen?

I am too. That’s why the 2015 election bothered me. Not so much because of the man we elected Prime Minister, but because of what the election of that man said about our nation.

Like our American cousins in 2008, Canadians opted for Hope and Change in 2015. We opted for style over substance.

ABC – Anything But Conservative became the rallying cry for millions.

We rejected serving Prime Minister Stephen Harper as out of touch, distant and without personality. We rejected NDP leader Thomas Mulcair as “Angry Tom.” While we, as a nation, were angry at the status quo we did not want an angry man leading our country.

As the American media did with Barack Obama in the lead up to the 2008 US election, our Canadian media ignored their anointed candidate’s glaring lack of leadership experience and management ability.

That bothered me.

In this book I undertook an examination of Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister using Justin Trudeau’s own words and actions.

I researched Justin Trudeau’s much-publicized missteps and his actions as a result of those missteps. I analyzed the national media’s response to the glaring discrepancy between his words and his actions.

My examination uncovered a disturbing pattern. That pattern is the focus of this book.

Are you willing to learn the hard truths about your Prime Minister?

Excellent. Then this book is for you.

The Good Life Handbook: Epictetus’ Stoic Classic Enchiridion

by Epictetus

The Good Life Handbook is a rendering of Enchiridion in plain English. It is a concise summary of the teachings of Epictetus, as transcribed and later summarized by his student Flavius Arrian. The Handbook is a guide to the good life. It answers the question, “How can we be good and live free and happy, no matter what else is happening around us?”
Ancient Stoics lived in a time of turmoil under difficult conditions. So, the solutions they found to living free was tested under very stringent conditions. For example, the author of this Handbook was a lame slave who made himself free and happy later in life by following the principles set out in this book.

The Yellow Wallpaper – A Story

by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

“The Yellow Wallpaper” is a 6,000-word short story by American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman, first published in January 1892 in New England Magazine. It is regarded as an important early work of American feminist literature, illustrating attitudes in the 19th century toward women’s physical and mental health.

The story is written in the first person as a series of journal entries. The narrator is a woman whose husband â?? a physician â?? has confined her to the upstairs bedroom of a house he has rented for the summer. She is forbidden from working and has to hide her journal entries from him so that she can recuperate from what he has diagnosed as a “temporary nervous depression â?? a slight hysterical tendency;” a diagnosis common to women in that period. The windows of the room are barred, and there is a gate across the top of the stairs, allowing her husband to control her access to the rest of the house.

The story illustrates the effect of confinement on the narrator’s mental health, and her descent into psychosis. With nothing to stimulate her, she becomes obsessed by the pattern and color of the room’s wallpaper.

Proletarian Peasants: The Revolution of 1905 in Russia’s Southwest

by Robert Edelman

In this book, conceived and written for the general reader as well as the specialist, Robert Edelman uses a case study of peasant behavior during a particular revolutionary situation to make an important contribution to one of the major debates in contemporary peasant studies. Edelman’s subject is the peasantry of the right-bank Ukraine, and he uses local and regional archives seldom available to Western scholars to give a detailed picture of the ways in which the inhabitants of one of Russia’s most advanced agrarian regions expressed their discontent during the years 1905-1907. By the 1890s, the landlords of Russia’s Southwest had organized a highly successful capitalist form of agriculture, and Edelman demonstrates that their peasants responded to these dramatic economic changes by adopting many of the forms of political and social behavior generally associated with urban proletarians.
