When it comes to trimming money from a person’s grocery bill, very often the inexperienced shopper or cook thinks that this means you should be able to walk into the supermarket and purchase $3 worth of food and prepare a meal from that. In
reality you often need to buy certain items in bulk or will spend several dollars on a particular cut of meat or other things that will last you for several meals. You can’t really buy fifty cents worth of potatoes and a dollar’s worth of a pot roast to have for
one meal.
In other words, you may spend a hundred dollars at the grocery store at one visit but when you figure the meals that you get from this one trip, the average amount you spend on any one meal is just a few dollars – if you know how to shop and plan
accordingly!
This is important to remember too because some meals of course are probably going to cost more than others. You might eat a dollar’s worth of cereal, milk and toast for breakfast, three dollars worth of bread, lunchmeat and fruit for lunch, and five dollars worth of other things for dinner and a small snack. So on average your meals are around three dollars or so but there’s some flexibility in this regard.
Saving money on food is not that difficult to do if you know how. It doesn’t always mean buying generic items or items in obscenely huge amounts. There are often just a few things you can do to not just stretch your grocery budget but to prepare cheaper cuts of meat and sneak in less expensive ingredients to many of the dishes you may already prepare.

When the pressure inside the cooker is raised the water is increased past its boiling point. Food can cook faster at this high temperature and energy is saved when the food is cooked more quickly. The best thing about pressure cooking is not only the fact that it saves time and is energy efficient, but that it seals in flavors and nutrients.
