Classical Chinese poetry is the crown jewels of ancient Chinese literature. For thousands of years, these classical poems have touched countless hearts and will continue doing so for years to come. For anyone who is learning Chinese, classical Chinese poetry serves as a pathway to true understanding of Chinese culture. Traditional Chinese paintings play an almost equally important role in Chinese culture with the same aesthetic sensations. In this book, you will find a perfect combination of both. It contains 50 carefully selected ancient Chinese poems that is classical and essential and yet still easy to understand. Many of them are down selected from the collection of 300 Tang Dynasty Poems. Each poem is paired with one classical Chinese painting which by itself is a priceless artwork and when combined with poetry enhances the beauty of each other. These paintings will also help the readers to understand the meaning of the poems.

The book is good for learning Chinese Characters at the medium and advanced levels. A reader at the beginning level may also find it enjoyable if he or she has basic understanding of the Chinese language. For a child around or above 2 years old, even listening and recitation without understanding are sufficient because the rhythms and rhymes in the poems are so pleasing to the little kids.

Stand By Me RP: Volume 2

by Dave Steele

Back Cover Text

Dave Steele is a blind poet from Manchester, England. With this book he continues to share his journey into blindness with the world through his heartfelt honest poetry. Stand by me RP: Volume 2 is a glimpse into the tunnelled world of those who live with Retinitis Pigmentosa. His words are guaranteed to bring a tear, a smile, hope and awareness of what for most continues to be a misunderstood condition.

Introduction from the Author

Stand By Me RP: Volume 2 picks up from where the first book left off; giving a unique glimpse in to the ever fading world of those living with sight loss.

Through my poetry I strive to raise awareness, erase the many â?¨misconceptions and show those who at times feel isolated that they are not alone. I hope these words will continue to bring comfort, hope and inspiration to the blind community and as with the previous book I hope the friends and family of those with visual impairments will continue to use my message in verse as a way to understand what many of us feel but at times find it difficult to say.

Canti (Italian Edition)

by Giacomo Leopardi

Point No Point

by Molly Mattfield Bennett

Point No Point is about people who live on the edges; who travel from place to place, at home nowhere; who wander through life’s journey. It is about all of us who are outsiders, Pilgrims, immigrants, homeless people on the streets; Masai on the Serengeti; those who seek enlightenment. We are all outsiders. These poems dwell in paradox: with beauty amid horror that can change in an instant from one to the other; with the light that shines through pain; that daily the bush that shelters is on fire.

Whispers of Paradise

by Anand Bose

These are a selection of poems, which are autobiographical, formed by my response to nature, people and places I have visited. I have experimented with various styles of poetry like the lyric and the haiku. The poems are intensely emotional and rendered as epiphanies.

When It Rains in the Desert

by Carol Creelawn

In this marvelous debut collection, Carol Creelawn leads us into a world where elephants rule the night, lakes are haunted by singing ghosts, and the simple act of driving a car sparks a moment of keen insight. Her poems reveal a deep love for the natural world while interpreting the events of everyday life with honesty and empathy.
