The essays of ex-pat life in “Los vecinos & other animals” have been adapted from articles published in “The Reader”, an English-language newspaper based in Almería and distributed principally to the large population of British and other foreign nationals based in the Murcia region of Southern Spain.
The column, “Outside the Box”, which appeared in “The Reader” between 2009 and 2010, followed the same pattern as the “Capital Letters” column published for some years in “The New Entertainer”, with occasional Spanish phrases incorporated into the mainly English texts.



New York City Travel Guide: New York City

Manhattan
The most established of the five precincts of New York City, Manhattan is the primary business, monetary and social focus of the USA. Manhattan has numerous well known milestones, attractions, historical centers and colleges. The other four districts are the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

The Bronx
This is the main ward that is found fundamentally on the terrain. In spite of the fact that the Bronx is thickly populated, around a quarter century of its region is open space which incorporates the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Garden, Pelham Bay Park, Van Cortlandt Park and the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Brooklyn
This is the most thickly populated of New York’s precincts. This astounding multi-social precinct is home to some awesome attractions including Prospect Park which incorporates Prospect Park Zoo, the Long Meadow, Litchfield Villa and a 60 section of land lake. The recreation center is likewise home to the Prospect Park Bandshell which has outside shows in the mid year and a few baseball fields.
Rulers
Home to JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport, these airplane terminals are among the busiest on the planet. Rulers is likewise home to some awesome attractions, including Flushing Meadows Park (home of the New York Mets baseball group and the US Open tennis competition), the Aqueduct Racetrack, Kaufman Astoria Studios and the Silvercup Studios.
