Crossroads and Conquests: Odyssey of a Woman: POETRY

by Anna Jailene Aguilar

Crossroads and Conquests: Odyssey of a Woman
POETRY

This is the first book in the series. It is an introduction to a woman’s journey – in poetry.

The book chronicles, in poems, the life of a woman: often interrupted, encountering obstacles, hitting bumps on the road, conquering her worldâ??in small doses, yet significant combined.

Although not intended to record the life of a woman, the poems are the narrative of the loves she found and found her, her failed relationships, her joys and despairs, her trials and tribulations, her victories and triumphs. The collection is the register of her emotions and thoughts.

This is the odyssey of a woman, with crossroads and conquests.

Gladius Magnus (Gladius Magnus Volumes Book 1)

by Matthew Kardian

XIII

Neither blessings nor heavens can appease,
This boy cheated with ease, how could it be?
Troubled through mental anguish, kill me please,
There’s no trust in girls, as they often flee,
Ship’s ride back was surprisingly ready freed,
Our trade was completed, a post well made.
The Greek – Dolos’ creed embellishes me,
Adore to me subscribes, of my fondness raid,
The fun ended now the memories won.
Selfish was I as I look at my sword,
The glare dices eyes when it hits the sun,
I drop my blade’s grip oh rise mighty lord.
Blessed are my dreams as in them I’m free,
Blessed are my dreams as with them I see.

Gladius Magnus is a collection of 21 sonnets. These poems help conduce a young man of eighteen, Niccolo, on his trade ship heading to Nassau in the Bahamas from Greece. Gods and Goddesses arrive in helpful ways. Love, of course is pictured through Niccolo towards the raven-haired young girl, Camilla. The poem illustrates long distance love and how young men and women would behave. However, love has unpredictable ways that can corrupt and sabotage an innocent soul.

The Burning Fire is About to End

by Kholo Kganyago

I was praying while walking to school when God revealed this title of The Burning Fire Is About To End to me. The LORD did a very great thing in my life. God gave me these poems. I did not use my own words to write these poems but the Lord just showed His greatest mercy to me by showing each and every word and revealing to me what to write.

I sat down in the classroom and wrote down each and every word being in a prayerful mater. I’m grateful for what the LORD had done and I continue to pray that God will reveal more to me.

I would like to encourage young people to be keen to discover their talents so that the LORD may show His mercy upon them and empower them to do great work. For God have plans with our lives and the plans to bring us prosperity.
