What is Consciousness?

by Storm Khandro Moon

This is a book of 36 bite sized essays inspired by questions such as; â??What is consciousness?’, â??Is there a deeper level to being than our experience of selfhood?’, â??Does social media mirror the way our minds are organized?’, â??Why does it feel like we have been here forever, even though we are limited by birth and death?’, â??How do we connect to nature and totems in our industrialised world?’, and â??What is the big picture and how do we fit in?’

The musings, dreams and insights are gathered into two sections. The first looks at the nature of consciousness and draws on Buddhist concepts of the unborn nature, the ungraspable backdrop of reality. It explores classic Buddhist teachings such as the Surangama Sutra, the Diamond Sutra, the Heart Sutra, and the Five Ranks of Tozan. The second section looks at how our minds are organized and considers concepts such as karma, rebirth, and how our complex mental processes give rise to a sense of self. It ponders the nature of reality, dreams, and the individual self, asking the question â??Who are we really?’

KEEPING AMERICA GREAT!: (Postmodern Liberalism is losing the War)

by Jorge Pelegrin

In a bold narration, J. Pelegrin dares to expose the worse political conspiracy in the history of the United States of America. The Country is in a state of war, which, although not declared, it is easy to acknowledge by reading the press or watching TV.
After the 2016 election, certain groups, nested in the Democratic Party formed a coalition with a single goal: to destroy President Trump. The Leadership is provided by what the author named: “Postmodern Liberalism” and their Leftist ideology, with an odd partnership with The Islam.
However, after one and a half years, Trump has accomplished his campaign promises, like no other President in modern history. His opponents, The Democrats are trying everything in the books to impeach him. So far everything failed and moreover, the President’s popularity is rising daily, upsetting, even more, the Postmodern Liberal alliance.
The Democratic Party dropped the old political platform, to only advertise their hatred for Trump. A “resist” movement was born.
The Democratic Party’s few proposals for the next election are poor, anti-American and detrimental to our lifestyle. Among them: Open borders, uncontrolled immigration, raising taxes, repeal tax cuts were done by Trump, reinstatement of Obama-care individual mandates, creating more Sanctuary States, re-enter the ill “Iran nuclear deal,” among other aberrations. Meanwhile, the US economy is booming like we have not seen in twenty years, unemployment rates the lowest since the last century and an economic growth rate already surpassing 3%. If you are a Patriot, you will enjoy reading this book and an unusual comparison of the Postmodern Liberalism with the Old Scriptures: The Vedas, The Bible and The Koran, a real philosophical treat. KEEPING AMERICA GREAT! Is the must-read book at this time of social/political division, weakening the USA, triggering external dangers from several World Power seeking Nations.
War is a button away! However. Donald J. Trump is fighting the witch-hunt in a “street-fight” style, while driving the country thru an economic success, recovering the International prestige, rebuilding the military to the strongest level and showing the lowest unemployment in 17 years.

The Literariness of Media Art

by Claudia Benthien

The beginning of the 20th century saw literary scholars from Russia positing a new definition for the nature of literature. Within the framework of Russian Formalism, the term â??literariness’ was coined. The driving force behind this theoretical inquiry was the desire to identify literatureâ??and art in generalâ??as a way of revitalizing human perception, which had been numbed by the automatization of everyday life. The transformative power of â??literariness’ is made manifest in many media artworks by renowned artists such as Chantal Akerman, Mona Hatoum, Gary Hill, Jenny Holzer, William Kentridge, Nalini Malani, Bruce Nauman, Martha Rosler, and Lawrence Weiner. The authors use literariness as a tool to analyze the aesthetics of spoken or written language within experimental film, video performance, moving image installations, and other media-based art forms. This volume uses as its foundation the Russian Formalist school of literary theory, with the goal of extending these theories to include contemporary concepts in film and media studies, such as Neoformalism, intermediality, remediation, and postdrama.

What Happened to Greece… and Now What?: An insider’s tale of the Greek Crisis

by Panayiotis Katsaros

In the wake of the global recession, Greece’s economy collapsed, sparking widespread social unrest and a crisis in the European Union. Since that time, facts about the so-called Greek Depression have been distorted and obscured by a mixture of sensationalist media, conspiracy theories, and deliberate obfuscation by those whose actions led to the financial disaster in the first place.

Panayiotis Katsaros was one of the few who saw the crisis coming. A member of the Greek parliament for twelve years, his warnings reached back to the 1980s. In What Happened to Greeceâ?¦and Now What?, he chronicles the facts surrounding the financial crisis.

Katsaros discusses how long-standing influences shaped the crisis, including European Economic Community participation, the eurozone, and the stock market collapse. He candidly explains the effects of clientelism and corporatism within the Greek government, and he questions whether the “debt haircut” was based on false formulas or imposed deliberately by those seeking to capitalize on Greece’s misfortune.

What Happened to Greeceâ?¦and Now What? offers an informative, unbiased look at the causes, events, and consequences surrounding one of the worst social and economic disasters in Greece’s long history, while discussing the nation’s options for the future.
