The Darkness of Treading Water

by Bradley Spencer

“It has taken me a lifetime to write this as each poem within the disarray of thoughts was written during the time that they happened. This is my story, my beliefs, my struggles and how I tried to overcome them. In the beginning each chapter ends itself with an entry from my journal that I kept while in Afghanistan and within each chapter consists my poetry. This is the poetry and story of my life up until I decided to tell it. I hope if nothing else you enjoy the words I have used to express the internal struggle I have faced within myself. I am not an educated writer only a writer who does so from his heart.”

Honeycomb: Dip into Words

by Krithika Shrinivas

With immense longing and passion, Honeycomb explores the sweet (and bittersweet) moments of life, ranging from the struggle to belong and love with nostalgic musings weaved in between. In this profound debut poetry collection, an attempt is made to encapsulate the human experience with thoughts as uniformly intricate as the honeycomb itself.

Private Pain: Amidst These Ashes

by Queen of Spades

In Life, one is expected to put her best face forward, but what if the process of revealing her best face involves putting the demons on display? Would the journey continue? Or would one stop dead in her tracks?

Private Pain: Amidst These Ashes is the response in its rawest form. It is an inside look at: in its simplest form, Life’s growing pains; in its most complex form, a person battling internal and external forces to find peace in her own existence. The lines are blurred between what’s real and what is embellishment in this second edition, a sleeker remastered collection that doesn’t miss a step in intensity.

Also included: “Ahn’Ya’s Voice” by Da’Kharta Rising and “Behind the Stuntin'” by Synful Desire.

Spiritual: Quiet As (A Spiritual Journey To Help Those Dealing With Loss) (Childress Children’s Book Series 4)

by Marilyn Childress

“Quiet As” is a Spiritual book for all those who’ve lost a loved one and seem to have issues getting over the pain. This book was inspired by my mother(Marilyn Childress) who lost her battle with cancer in 1998. I was having a hard time dealing with her death and one day while going through some of her things I found a messages from her written on one of her old yellow note pads, the words bought comfort to my spirit and were the inspiration for his book. I hope these words bring “some” comfort to all those who’ve lost a loved one as well.

What the Day has Wrought: From Night ’til Light

by William Blacksmith

It’s been a drastic few months at the end of 2016, the beginning of 2017. The election itself was full of controversy and venom and few saw the outcome as it happened. As we all know, history is rarely linear, and ebbs and wanes in cycles that may be anticipated, cannot be predicted. This cycle seems to be of the country going backward towards some “Gilded Age”, somewhere in someone’s memory of better times. What we fail to realize is that every era has been beautiful and ugly on its own. What we are seeing, especially from congress, is an attempt to roll back every progress we’ve made as a nation and plunge us back into our own Dark Ages. The hate-mongers will take up the standard and point blame for their atrocities to the people, situations that have nothing to do with a “cause”. Nobody is asking for sunshine and puppies all the time, but liberties are at stake here and we need to move! This is my take on the state of affairs.
