Spirit Animals as Guides, Teachers, and Healers

by Steven D. Farmer

Spirit Animals as Guides, Teachers, and Healers is a compilation of articles I’ve written over the last few years about a topic that is near and dear to my heart: how animals can serve as spiritual messengers to help guide, teach, and heal us. Although this subject is covered in detail in some of my books and other products, in particular the best-selling Animal Spirit Guides and Pocket Guide to Spirit Animals, editorial constraints prevented much of this material from being included in those publications and several were written since those books became available. I wanted to make this material readily available and in a form that was affordable and easy to access.

There are many true to life stories of experiences with spirit animals in these pieces and as you read through these I’m sure you’ll find yourself intrigued by the entire topic. I’ve had many demonstrations of how the natural world communicates with us, particularly through the animals that show up in physical reality or in consciousness. To learn from these spirit beings, it’s a matter of becoming better listeners with your ears, eyes, and senses. The more you pay attention and “listen” with all of you, the more you can discern and understand their messages.

The Quotable Kant

by Immanuel Kant

Immanuel Kant was a German philosopher who is considered the central figure of modern philosophy. Kant argued that the human mind creates the structure of human experience, that reason is the source of morality, that aesthetics arises from a faculty of disinterested judgment, that space and time are forms of our sensibility, and that the world as it is “in-itself” is independent of our concepts of it. Kant took himself to have effected a Copernican revolution in philosophy, akin to Copernicus’ reversal of the age-old belief that the sun revolved around the earth. His beliefs continue to have a major influence on contemporary philosophy, especially the fields of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political theory, and aesthetics…

Their words on life, success, courage and character hold true centuries later and can be just the pick-me-up you need, whatever the work day throws at you.

Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement from 1954 until his death in 1968. Born in Atlanta, King is best known for advancing civil rights through nonviolence and civil disobedience, tactics his Christian beliefs and the nonviolent activism of Mahatma Gandhi helped inspire.

Mother Teresa, known in the Roman Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta[6] (born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, Albanian: [aË?ɲÉ?zÉ? Ë?É¡É?ndÊ?É? bÉ?jaË?dÊ?iu]; 26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), was an Albanian-Indian[4] Roman Catholic nun and missionary.[7] She was born in Skopje (now the capital of Macedonia), then part of the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. After living in Macedonia for eighteen years she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived for most of her life.

In 1950 Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation which had over 4,500 sisters and was active in 133 countries in 2012. The congregation manages homes for people dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; dispensaries and mobile clinics; children’s- and family-counselling programmes; orphanages, and schools. Members, who take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience, also profess a fourth vow: to give “wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor”.

Sadness Quotes

by Explorer

Our culture has a strange relationship with sadness.

Despite it being one of the most fundamental emotions that we experience, it’s something that is often not discussed, and certainly never encouraged.

There are a number of cliches that inform the way we view sadness, such as “big girls don’t cry” and “cheer up” – these ideas often run on autopilot in the background.

Emotions, however, are never so simple, they often require that we take a closer look in order to know what we’re dealing with and how we can best handle them.

MISSING PEOPLE: Gone Without A Trace: True Stories of People That Have Never Been Found

by Phil Coleman

MISSING PEOPLE: Gone Without A Trace

An FBI studied showed in 2014 there were 83,957 people missing in the United States. An average of 750,000 missing persons cases are reported each year, with around 2,000 people being reported missing daily.

When a missing person report is filed, the longer the case goes on without the person re-appearing, the more likely the missing person in question is dead from either homicide or natural causes.

The majority of missing people are white, male adults, missing children are rightfully more covered by the media as studies show that the first three hours after a child is missing is when they are most likely to be murdered if killing the child is the intent of the abductor.

With increased technology, improvements in DNA evidence gathering and better law enforcement communication and cooperation, solving missing persons cases should have gotten easier and been more successful over time. However, solving these cases is still difficult and many are never found.

This is the story of some of those cases, affecting victims who still remain unfound. Where did these people go? What fate befell them? And will they ever be found?
