Wel the word “cocktail” has many definition, i don’t want to argument on these. People have been mixing drinks for centuries, but it wasn’t until the 17th and 18th centuries that the precursors of the cocktail became popular enough to be recorded in the history books. According to the wikipedia and other website’s information, in a definition of the Cocktail appeared in an editorial response was published in The Balance and Columbian Repository of 1806. And another information said that the classic cocktail is defined as a cocktail that appeared on the scene after 1887, when Jerry Thomas’ Bar-Tender’s Guide was published.
