A Dog In It’s Barking…

by Rick Howe

A superb collection of darkly observational poetry by a writer too long lost under the radar. The poetry of Rick Howe touches, thrills and enthralls in its own unique style. Never afraid of brutal honesty, these writings touch on themes familiar to many, depression, frustration, world weariness, the common human experience. Some are not an easy read, all astound with the writers voice, strident, assured even in isolation and adversity.

Rick Howe hasn’t had a background in the literary arts, though once he vaguely recalls sitting through interminable English Literature classes, likely thinking of the temporary escape of break time and an illicit cigarette or two down by the curled back fences at the edge of the school grounds. During this time, he found himself being assaulted by words that were irritatingly persistent in being written down. Would they hell be quiet.
Eventually, enough being enough, and being enamoured of dramatic acts, he gathered up all his notebooks and journals and burned them under a rail bridge. He then walked away from the curse of words.
This ritual worked wonderfully as after 18 years a flood of poetry burst his brittle banks and poured forth. He does still, however, try to resist and has described himself as a downbeat poet, an alley poet, a gutter poet. He works in a factory and doesn’t know many other posts, which might contribute to his original take on things.

Rick Howe would also like to point out he is a big fan of whisky, and will have one, so long as you’re buying..

Corazón exprimido (Spanish Edition)

by Beatriz Alcón

Ice Cream And Suicide

by Jack Ray

A collection of poetry focusing on the hardships that come with shattered relationships, the feelings that bloom in love lost, and the experiences of finding closure. Ice Cream And Suicide is a personal look at the events that have scarred and inspired the author to begin poetry. The woman who Ray writes about has not one name, but many. The collection truly captures the dark side of love and is proof that words can kill just as bullets or hand grenades.
