The Middle Kingdom: A Year in Asia

by Nathan Smith

I’ve climbed Mogul Mountains and felt I was the only man in the world. I’ve watched dragon boats move like water striders across Chinese lakes. I made my home in the Hutongs of Beijing. I celebrated Buddhist lent by the Mekong river. I stood in a Ming Dynasty fortress, abandoned in the desert. I saw where the Great Wall caps the mountain for eternity in both directions. I dined with nomads, visited with Monks, and befriended taxi drivers.

I experienced Asia.

This book is a compilation of my blog posts from a year spent working in China. The entries are all available on my blog. I’m still meandering Asia so tune in at nathansmithwriting.com and join my mailing list for the latest entries.

by Carla S. Kitchen

Are You Looking For An Ultimately Meal Prep Cookbook For Weight Loss And Healthy?

As you start using the ultimate meal prep cookbook, you will discover that there are a lot of things that need attention. This is for you to maintain the quality lifestyle that you are dreaming of. There are things that are challenging but one thing is certain, as you will practice all of this, you will surely achieve the healthy lifestyle for yourself and for your family.

In the complete meal prep cookbook, I have discussed the benefits of using the meal prep cookbook. Here in the ultimate meal prep cookbook, I will discuss the essential and some other factors once aiming for a healthy lifestyle.

Again, this things are not that difficult as you think. It merely requires encouragement and determination after all.

Essentials:

  1. Food containers.

In meal prepping, you are going to prepare 10-20+ of food recipes each week. This means that you also need to have an appropriate food containers for that. Choose a food container that is airtight and leak free. This is to ensure that the foods that you prepare remain its freshness and tenderness. Choose also a container that is BPA-free and are safer and easier to use in the microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher.

  1. Food storage.

After you put your foods in a food container, you also need to have a proper food storage for that. This can be your food cabinet, refrigerator, and other stuffs that suits your convenience.

This time foods that you are going to prepare are to be discussed. Since I am talking about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, then you will expect that nutritious fruits and vegetables are the primary subject of this matter.

In maintaining a healthy lifestyle, you will have to choose those green leafy vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, and green beans. Also, you need to include a delicious vegetable salad in your preparation. You can also include eggs, bananas, almonds, and meats high in protein like chicken, fish and turkey. However, the fruits and vegetables including meats that you are going to eat depends on the type of diet that you are engaging with.

As you go far in meal prepping, you will realize that planning out what to eat over a week is not that difficult. You can list down the essentials and needs in your notebook or you can save it in your phone’s reminders or “to-do list”. This is to ensure that you are still in the right track of meal prepping.

The most important thing in meal prepping is that, you will have to follow the instructions and the recipes religiously. Of course this is a must, because the health of your family lies in your hands. Since you are the one who takes to plan everything, then you should be keen, smart, and wise in choosing what’s best for your family. In meal prepping, you will be able to express your love for them through the foods that you are going to serve in every meals.

by David Riley

About the Series

Throughout the History of India, different empires flourished and fell again; but each civilization left its mark, in the form of beautifully constructed buildings and structures. These structures remind us of an era bygone. Some of them have stood the test of time, and have been brilliantly preserved. Others have deteriorated and lost their lustre, and lie in the form of ruins, giving just a hint of their glorious past. None the less, they form an important part of India’s history and represent the historicity of this amazing ancient land in the form of â??Heritage of India’.

This series aims to explore such structures (from different time periods) from around the country and bring it to you in the form of Discover India | Photojournals. It tells you all that you’d need to know about the heritage structure: before, during as well as after visiting the place. This is your perfect guide to know about the concerned structure, as well as enjoy a preview/souvenir with beautiful photographs of the heritage structures. So, enjoy the book and take it with you as you journey through India, exploring the vast array of heritage structures that India has to offer.

Tomb of Akbar | Agra

The Tomb of Akbar, or â??Akbar’s Tomb’ refers to the mausoleum complex where Akbar was buried. Completed in 1613, with a magnificent Char Bagh style garden, it is one of the most magnificent tomb complexes in India, as well as in the world. Like many other buildings of the Mughal era, the prime materials used in the construction of Akbar’s Tomb are red sandstone and white marble. In spite of its massive scale, and beautifully proportioned architecture, several tourists miss out on this magnificent Mughal marvel on their trip to Agra.
