Deadly Reunion (A Taci Andrews Mystery Book 1)

by Amy Manemann

Smart-mouthed Taci Andrews is an investigative reporter for the Riverdale Times with a lot on her plate. Between receiving a dreaded invitation to her fifteen-year high school reunion, her best friend’s divorce drama and her own solitary dating status, her fun meter is pretty much pegged.

When Taci’s partner goes missing while covering a missing child feature, she is suddenly thrown into the story of her career, which oddly enough delves into a past she would rather forget. She soon finds herself squaring off against a malicious class Barbie Doll, the High School Quarterback and a steamy Fireman from her past whose deep blue eyes are still enough to curl her toes.

It’s full speed ahead in this sassy, page-turning, first book of the series, where Taci must learn to put the past to rest before she winds up next on the missing person’s list.

Ray’s son, Jesse, is discovering that being on the run in the middle of winter is no fun. With his stamina stretched to the limits, he’s ready to surrender himself to social services. At least that way he can see his girlfriend again.

Danny Boy is the man in the middle. He thinks he can break Ray from prison and reunite father and son. All he needs is an ambulance, a funeral, the help of some of his old friends and a big slice of good fortune.

Southsiders: Jailhouse Rock takes you for an eventful ride on a Mystery Train where the destination is as likely to be the Heartbreak Hotel as the Promised Land.

The Roy Scott Mysteries: A Short Story Mystery Series

by Rex Von Grover

A distant great grandchild of the Sherlock Holmes tradition, The Roy Scott Mysteries take place in a quiet yet wacky suburb named Homewood Township. A place where Roy Scott and his fellow high school associates stumble upon various puzzles at their school that require unriddling.
In this collection of short stories, Roy Scott, Marley, and Smarf will run into many odd situations from abducted actresses that must be found in time for the school play, to the traditional mystery of who pulled the false fire alarm. Then there are the more fantastical conundrums that can cause one to question their core beliefs in reality, and even go so far as to maniacally experiment with human genetics.
In the tradition of Sherlock Holmes, Roy Scott is a teenage sleuth who is always keen of perception, and seemly always able to connect the dots once all the pieces are uncovered. A key role in Roy Scott’s detection is the wholesome and charming Marley, who seems to take just as much interest in Roy Scott as the stints they solve. With the help of his pseudo romantic rival, the spaghetti armed Smarf, Roy Scott, Marley, and Smarf tend to make an unbeatable team in problem solving.
The Roy Scott Mysteries is a new kind of series that combines motley elements from airy fantasy to hardboiled realism. Stories that have the power to take the silly and tinge it with philosophical depth. As thought-provoking as entertaining, these high school mysteries prove to be original pieces of genius that are as elegantly written as they are substantially edifying for even the serious armchair reader.
Being a proven master philosopher, poet, and novelist, Rex Von Grover shows his versatility as a short story artist of mysteries in this special collection. Listen to Rex Von Grover rap at!

Gold (River Sunday Romance Mysteries Book 4)

by Thomas Hollyday

John Neale is throwing in the towel. He has followed his conscience for too long, working for pennies to support local farmers in the quiet Chesapeake town of River Sunday. With his own bills mounting, he is doing one last job before selling out to the corporate life. He just needs to finalize the will of Father Tom, a beloved priest who passed away while performing a mass.

To the town’s surprise, it seems that Father Tom had access to gold – to the tune of millions of dollars. None can figure out where the stash of precious metal was coming from, or how many millions still remained. A modern day gold rush ensues, with prospectors descending on the town from all corners of the world. John struggles to fend off the enthusiastic claims of the church as well as the scrabbling efforts of neighbors while making his own furious explorations of the brush-encrusted fishing property Father Tom maintained.

When a Native American burial mound presents evidence of a history tracing back far more than local tribes could account for, John realizes the significance of his discovery could go far beyond monetary wealth. His world enters the realm of science fiction, and he races to stay one step ahead of death in his efforts to share the truth with the world.

Gold is the fourth book of the acclaimed River Sunday Romance Mystery series by Thomas Hollyday. The author’s unique Chesapeake voice once again gives us an exciting read about the people, their beliefs and legends, and the grasping mud and black water wetlands of this mysterious American region. His other critically acclaimed novels include Slave Graves, Powerboat Racer, Magnolia Gods, Terror Flower, China Jewel, and Easter Sunday.

Each book, introducing new memorable characters, retains the simple and beautiful lifestyle, history and beauty of the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Powerful subjects such as freedom, atomic war, racism, religion, terror, sailing, and family love, are approached. Stories are insightful and well researched with technical expertise, humor, and fast moving action.
River Sunday Romance Mysteries are suitable for teen and older readers. They have no strong language and romantic descriptions are clean and suitable for family reading and enjoyment.

Thomas Hollyday has spent years working for animals rights. Part of the proceeds of his books goes to financing the research and maintenance of fresh drinking water resources for wildlife.

Praise for Joanna Cannan:

â??Delightfully readable. Has a subtle twist to it which even Mrs. Christie might envy’ – New Statesman

Joanna Cannan was born in Oxford in 1898. Prior to writing detective fiction, her books primarily explored the aftermath of World War I and life in England during the Great Depression. In 1932, she settled in rural Oxfordshire with her husband and four children; all four of her children went on to become writers themselves. She began to write fiction for young readers, and published nine books for children between 1936 and 1957. During the same period she wrote two novels featuring Inspector Guy Northeast, They Rang Up the Police (1939) and Death at The Dog (1941); following a nine-year hiatus from detective fiction, she returned to the genre in 1950 with the introduction of Inspector Ronald Price in Murder Included.
