Years of abuse and pain lay behind Rage, but what tortures him most, is his memory of the beautiful young woman who worked for DMI. Even ten years after, she still hounds him in his sleep. Then she suddenly stands right in front of him. Finally he could make her pay for what she did to him, but when he has her at his mercy, killing her is the last thing on his mind. His beast wants her. But if he looses control of his alien side, the fragile human could end up hurt or dead.

The lieutenant took my hand and led me to the dance floor. He turned out to be a good dancer. With ease he whirled me across the dance floor so that people soon made room to watch us. I had more fun than I’ve had in a long time and was all smiles. My smile froze when I was suddenly ripped from the Lieutenant’s arms and collided with a hard body.
“Hey!”, Lieutenant Green said and stood up to Rage, who had pushed me behind him, and I realized with horror where this was going.
Not another fight!
“Jessie is off-limits,” Rage growled warningly. “Have I made myself clear? I’m taking her home now. She had too much to drink and I won’t let some son of a bitch think he can take advantage of her!”
“She’s a grown woman and doesn’t need a babysitter”, said Lieutenant Green. “Now fuck off!”
I grabbed Rage’s arm and forced myself between them.
“Please”, I said. “No pressure. Thank you for the dance, Lieutenant Green”, I said to the Lieutenant, then I turned to Rage. “If you want to take me home that’s fine, but we have to talk!”
Rage glanced at the lieutenant, then he nodded, and I breathed a sigh of relief. He grabbed me by the arm and led me to the door. Outside I tore myself away from him and glared at him angrily.
“What was that all about? Have you lost your mind?”
“You are drunk”, Rage replied, and grabbed me to pull me along with him.
Furiously I stumbled after him.
“So what”, I asked. “Why do you care if I’m drunk or not?”
I braced myself against his pull and he paused and stared at me.
“I’m not gonna let anyone take advantage of you, Jessie. I will tuck you into bed where you belong!”
I leaned against him and looked up.
“Are you going to keep me company in bed?” I asked, made brave by the alcohol.
“No”, Rage growled, but I could feel his erection as I pressed my body closer to his. He took a breath and I saw something flashing in his eyes.
“I want it, Rage”, I said in a hoarse voice and I meant every word of it. “Fuck me!”
“I said NO”, he growled and pushed me away to keep me at arm’s length. “You will go to bed, like I said, and get some sleep. I am the last one who would take advantage of your … situation.”
“Situation?!” I exclaimed upset. “You think if I was sober, I wouldn’t want to fuck you?”
“You’re the most exhausting damn woman I’ve ever met”, he said pressingly. “Everything would be so much easier if you got used to doing what’s right.”
“And what would that be?” I asked snippily.
“You do what I tell you. It’s that simple!”
I laughed mockingly.
“Do what you say?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Right”, he said coldly. “And now you will come with me and don’t bitch with me anymore, otherwise I’ll bend you over my knee and give you what you deserve!”
“Maybe I’d like that”, I teased him.

The Catherine Kimbridge Omnibus Collection I (CKC Omnibus Book 1)

by Andrew Beery

This is the first three novels in the best-selling Catherine Kimbridge Chronicles (CKC)

CKC is a pure Science Fiction series following the adventures of a future “Horatio Hornblower” style character called “Admiral ‘Cat’ Catherine Kimbridge” …It’s a scifi adventure series that is chock-full of real-world cutting edge science ranging from VASMR drives powered by liquid fluorine thorium reactors to entangled quantum communications. Add in a six legged cybernetic dog with a passion for chocolate and anything can happen.

2067 was the year I died for the first timeâ?¦ It was painful. Had I known how often I’d be expected to die over the next several millennia, I might have made a stronger effort to stay dead. The year actually started off rather nice. I finished my PhD in high energy physics and was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in the United States Air Force. My first posting after the promotion was to the Lunar One Air Base where I worked with my father, Dr. Robert Kimbridge on “The Project.” “The Project” was our name for a VASIMR Ion Drive interplanetary space craft that used Thorium LFTR reactors for both shielding and power. Capable of a sustained point one G of acceleration, our prototype was expected to make the Mars run in less than a week. By the end of November the ESX Arizona was ready for her first trial runs and I was her pilot. History has an odd way of repeating itself.

Uncounted millennia ago the uncreated Creator reached forth a hand and touched a series of disparate universes. The touch set in motion ripples that created life in the Creator’s imageâ?¦ a life that was self-awareâ?¦ a life that aspired to be more than it wasâ?¦ a life that sought to create in its own right. Love and fear walked hand in hand. Thus the stage was set for an epic conflict that would span the universes. These are the adventures of one brave soul and her quest to protect all life. These are the Catherine Kimbridge Chronicles.

2123 was not my best yearâ?¦ Let me state for the record… Dying is not fun and is definitely overrated. This was the year the newly formed Galactic Coalition of Planets faced it greatest threat since the D’lralu invasion. The almost omnipotent Heshe sought to redeem themselves for past sins. The problem with this type of redemption was the price others sometimes pay for your salvation…

2124 was an interesting year… I was court-martialed, demoted and sentenced to perform hard labor for the rest of my natural life… Then things got rough.

“Commodore Catherine Kimbridge… It is the judgment of this court, that for crimes against the people of the Galactic Coalition of Planets — namely a wanton dereliction of duty in allowing the murder of a head of state in your custody — that you should be demoted in rank to private and transported in chains to the Sagatori asteroid penal colony in the Ashkelon star system. There you will remain for the rest of your natural life.”

An Enemy Of The Mind

by Renato Traldi Dias

They arrived without notice and struck without mercy. Aliens, of several different species, united by an unknown purpose against humanity.

Earth’s greatest military powers were obliterated in an instant and those who survived that first attack were kept alive for weeks in prison cells, wishing for either answers or death. Combined, the invader forces were numerous, strong and armed with advanced technology; but, in the end, what terrified the survivors the most was the ability of some aliens to read minds.

It was then, at this twilight of humanity, when hope not only faltered but was actively feared as a sign of resistance the psionic beings could sense, that a small group of scientists – gathered in Cairo by mere chance – discovered a way to fight back against these seemingly impossible odds.
