Some Problems That Could Arise From Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding Problems Faced by a Mother

by Lana Chang

Some Problems That Could Arise From Breastfeeding – Breastfeeding Problems Faced by a Mother

And here is a preview:
Breastfeeding is the process of feeding an infant with milk, directly from mother’s breast. A sucking reflex aids the baby to suck and swallow milk from his mother’s breast .Scientific research proves that breast milk is nutritious with a balanced amount of fat, sugar, water, and protein. However smoking, consumption of alcohol, caffeinated beverages and narcotic drugs could affect the quality of breast milk.

RECOMMENDED PERIOD FOR BREASTFEEDING
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, i.e., feeding the infant or child with milk directly from the breast instead of that from a bottle or any other container. The AAP further suggests that this must be followed with supplemented breastfeeding for a period of 1 year whereas WHO recommends that supplemented breastfeeding must be continued for a period of 2 years.
