When bounty hunter Duke LaGrange and his oft inebriated Japanese-Irish ninja companion, Ishiro’shea, entered their favorite watering hole, Cyborg Joe’s Grill N’ Go & The Why Not Saloon, they had no idea that they would soon be gobbled up by an unhinged astral anomaly and deposited on an uncharted primitive world. Few things are worse than undeveloped planets especially those that haven’t even made it to the soufflé stage. To top it off, this particular planet comes with its own insane ruler and an Orb that Controls Everything and Must be Respected. A VOYAGE TO ARCTURUS (Sci-Fi Classic): A Sci-Fi Classic

by David Lindsay

“A Voyage to Arcturus” combines fantasy, philosophy, and science fiction in an exploration of the nature of good and evil and their relationship with existence. Described by critic and philosopher Colin Wilson as the “greatest novel of the twentieth century”, it was a central influence on C. S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy, and through him on J. R. R. Tolkien, who said he read the book “with avidity”. An interstellar voyage is the framework for a narrative of a journey through fantastic landscapes. The story is set at Tormance, an imaginary planet orbiting Arcturus, which, in the novel (but not in reality) is a double star system, consisting of stars Branchspell and Alppain. The lands through which the characters travel represent philosophical systems or states of mind, through which the main character, Maskull, passes on his search for the meaning of life.David Lindsay was an author now best remembered for the philosophical science fiction novel A Voyage to Arcturus. The secret of Lindsay’s originality as a novelist lies in his metaphysical assumptions.

The two start working on improving the future with the experiences from the past and the presence.

The Visitor: A short horror story

by David Mcillorum

Something uninvited has arrived near a remote Cornish village, spooking the local population. A level headed farmer finds things aren’t quite what they appear to be when one of his precious lambs vanishes from his field, and confronts head on the evil that is responsible.

‘It watched from the shadows, from the overgrown grass, waiting patiently for the lights in the house to go out. When the house fell dark, it crossed the field and cautiously approached the fence, squatting there for a moment and turning up its snout, sniffing the cold night air.’

Equality & Looking Backward

by Edward Bellamy

“Equality” is a sequel to Looking Backward and it expands on the theories first explored in it. The story takes up immediately after the events of Looking Backward with the main characters Julian West, Doctor Leete, and his daughter Edith. Julian continues to learn more about the world of the year 2000. His citizenship in the new America is recognized, and he goes to the bank to obtain his own account, or “credit card,” from which he can draw his equal share of the national product. He learns that women are free to compete in many of the same trades as men. Handwriting has been virtually replaced by phonograph records, and jewelry is no longer used, since jewels are now worthless. Julian is amazed by a television-like device, called the electroscope. World communication is simplified, since everyone now speaks a universal language in addition to their native tongue. Not only are there motor cars, but also private air cars. Everyone is now vegetarian, and the thought of eating meat is looked upon with revulsion.

The Letters and Adventures of Sir Percy Ponsenby Bath 1766: A hilarious and fully illustrated romp in Georgian Bath 1766

by Dudley Lizarb

This is a fictional account of Sir Percy’s experiences, mishaps and terrible accidents, during an extended visit to a fanciful Bath in 1766, as reported in his many letters to his dearest friend, Lord Darcy Smallpiece and others.
Sir Percy is an arrogant, inept buffoon, with delusions of grandeur and a natural penchant to offend almost everyone he encounters, whilst maintaining the positive belief, “I am confident my wit and good nature are qualities that are always most welcome in polite society. Indeed, I pride myself of being without the capacity to offend.”
The narrative is populated by ludicrous characters and preposterous events, set in both actual and imaginary locations, thus providing the framework for this humorous faux history.

Review: by Eric Vose California U.S.A
â??This wonderful creation arrived and I don’t believe I have ever laughed out loud with any book as much as I have with Sir Percy’s Adventures! Just a pure joy, not just for the splendid wit and humour but also for Dudley Lizarb’s ability to paint such a picture with words that I felt I was there in the scene observing the action first hand. I have so many favourite scenes. The vision of Sir Percy stomping his foot and breaking his high heel, sending him backwards into the queue and in turn sending them toppling backward like dominoes with their wigs, lace and petticoats flying into the air in a cloud of wig powder is just beyond brilliant! It was written so wonderfully, I could just see it unfolding!’

Review by R.J.Bafico U.K.
â??Dudley Lizarb uses his incredible imagination to create this fictional character, Sir Percy Ponsenby who through his letters describes his mishaps and very funny situations that he finds himself in. From start to finish you can’t help but laugh at the predicaments Sir Percy gets himself into with its double entente and misunderstandings. A real enjoyable read from start to finish which has a lovely sting in the tail at the end, once I started this book I just couldn’t put it down, most enjoyable.’

FLATLAND (Illustrated): A Romance of Many Dimensions

by Edwin A. Abbott

This eBook edition of “Flatland” has been formatted to the highest digital standards and adjusted for readability on all devices.
Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions is a satirical novel. Written pseudonymously by “A Square”, the book used the fictional two-dimensional world of Flatland to comment on the hierarchy of Victorian culture, but the novella’s more enduring contribution is its examination of dimensions. The story describes a two-dimensional world occupied by geometric figures, whereof women are simple line-segments, while men are polygons with various numbers of sides. The narrator is a square named A Square, a member of the caste of gentlemen and professionals, who guides the readers through some of the implications of life in two dimensions. Flatland has often been categorized as science fiction although it could more precisely be called “mathematical fiction”. With the advent of modern science fiction from the 1950s to the present day, Flatland has seen a revival in popularity, especially among science fiction and cyberpunk fans. Many works have been inspired by the novella, including novel sequels and short films.
