The events that follow are the bounty from which blogs are born. Our first year is spent adjusting and settling. The blog, Yelapa Memo, begins after our return the second season. Be forewarned, all anecdotes bear a sprinkling of creativity; yet always include some thread of truth. We experience warm and friendly people, incredible food and drink, and a physical environment right out of the Nature Channel.

To assist those, like us, who consider resettling internationally for a portion of their golden years, I offer a dedicated section “Retiring in Yelapa.” The information is generic and applies to re-settling anywhere in the world.

Savanna Georgia Travel Guide: Miss Passport mini three day unforgettable vacation itinerary (3-Day Highlights Itinerary Part II): Savanna Georgia Travel Guide (Miss Passport Travel Guides Book 22)

by Sharon Bell

Finally Revealed.. The Amazing insider Secrets of Three day unforgettable vacation to Savanna Georgia

Savanna Georgia is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in North America, if not the world is absolutely oozing with Southern charm this charming city was founded in 1733 and was the capital of the Georgia colony, which got its name in honor of Prince George is beautiful scenic city runs along the savanna River which is where the city gets its name, and picturesque appearance in 1851. Savanna had 24 squares, all of which tells different aspects of commerce from cotton to fruit as well as law offices and banks. Today just 22 of these town squares are maintained to their original grandeur. However, they give visitors a feeling of what it must’ve been like to live during the early days of the colony and the American Revoluti on.

River Street is the epicenter of savanna’s history it now houses 50 unique shops and restaurants inside the old buildings of the Riverport warehouses and offices the street is lined with cobblestones, giving it a quaint old world appearance.

Aside from being a original colonial city savanna also had a rich history of fighting for the Confederacy during the American Civil War for a firsthand tangible glimpse of this history you should pay a visit to the Andrew Low house. Andrew Low was the biggest financial supporter of the Confederate Army, and his house is an excellent example of colonial architecture.

Perhaps because of its history with the Civil War and slavery, savanna is also reportedly one of the most haunted cities and there are several companies that offer ghost tours of historic savanna, should you be in the mood for a spine tingling mystery.

However, if ghosts aren’t your thing, then there is always the savanna histor y Museum, which does a spectacular job of outlining the history of the city, as well as the history of the African-American population from the earliest days of slavery until the present museum is filled with examples of art and music and is a educational yet pleasurably engaging experience, which is recommended to anyone interested in their nation’s history.

After all this walking and sightseeing, you might be interested in giving your feet a much deserved rest. If this is the case, then you should try a savanna River tour. The river tours are set at a leisurely pace, cruising the Savanna River in an old-fashioned paddlewheel steamboat, and it is a excellent way to spend a leisurely afternoon, and breathe some fresh River air there are several companies that conduct these tours, and depending on the company you choose, prices may vary, but they are well worth the expense as there is nothing quite so memorable as a chip downriver in a steamship. It will conjure up images of Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer.

Camino de la Luna: Compassion and Self Compassion

by Pearl Howie

The fourth in the Camino de la Luna series by Pearl Howie (or sixth if you count “free Feeling Real Emotions Everyday” – the standalone self-help manual and “Japan Is Very Wonderful” – the travel prequel) “Camino De La Luna – Compassion and Self Compassion” continues the journey.

From Genoa (or Genova), through Rome and on to Sicily, I finally make it back to London and from there continue falling forwards to South East Asia, hoping for a soft landing in Sri Lanka.

It’s in Sri Lanka that I open my heart and discover a new understanding of what compassion isâ?¦

Something alive perhaps, that can only be understood in practice. So often confused with pity or the self-sacrificing impulse to take on another’s burden, to make things better, to fix. It takes strength and delicacy and it doesn’t mean giving away your life savings.

Self compassion is sometimes the place between pushing through and giving up, the moment we can recognize our true needs, not our desires even if they’re for further suffering. Sometimes the moment we find self compassion is the moment we stop and walk away.

Perfect for those who enjoy an adventure travel story and want to know what it’s really like to take off round the world with a rucksack.

This is the colour eBook version – with pictures, also available as a colour paperback and as a text only eBook. Soon to be available as a black and white paperback and audiobook.

“To me, you are a hero… You have learned to take something negative in your life and make it a positive… a gift to others. It doesn’t get any better than that. Don’t doubt that you are capable of helping others… in terms of other of life’s difficulties… What an adventure!”

Susan Jeffers, Ph.D., author of “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway” and “Embracing Uncertainty”
