The Night Realm (Spell Weaver Book 1)

by Annette Marie

Clio has the rare ability to mimic magic. Sent on a mission to steal spells from the most dangerous family in the Underworld, she ends up stealing something else: their spell weaver.

As a nymph living in exile among humans, Clio has picked up all sorts of unique survival skills. But pilfering magic from the Underworld’s deadliest spell weavers? Not so much.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what she has to do to earn a ticket back home.

Conning her way into the Underworld may have gone pretty well, but now she’s got a new problem. His name is Lyre and he’s a sinfully alluring incubus, a skilled spell weaver, and the only thing standing between her and stealing some damn magic.

Maneuvering around him without blowing her cover shouldn’t be that difficult, but chaos has been dogging her every step. Monsters hide behind beautiful faces and Lyre keeps saving her neck even though they’re enemies. Kind of enemies? Either way, her mission is getting complicated fast, and in the Underworld, even one mistake could prove fatal.

From the author of the Steel & Stone series comes a new urban fantasy adventure with breathtaking magic, heart-stopping action, and forbidden attraction in a world where secrets are a matter of life and death.

When My Soul Met A Thug: A SAMPLE

by Jessica N. Watkins

True never guessed that life would be this hard. Being only twenty-five years old, she should have been being wild, reckless, and having fun, not fighting the hardest battle of her life, alongside a husband who no longer loved her. After their divorce, True wanted to be free and enjoy every day. Falling in love was not in the plan. She most definitely hadn’t foreseen falling in love with an arrogant, womanizing hustler like Coop. Yet, she did. However, as soon as True tells him all of her truth, he’ll revert back to that unbearable goon that wreaked havoc on the streets of Chicago.

Coop grew up an orphan, passed from foster home to foster home. A hustler, his right-hand man, was his only family. His love was the game. His side chick was money. Then he met True. She filled gaps in his life that he didn’t even know needed filling. Looking at her, being in her presence, was like the first warm, sunny day after a brutal Chicago winter. Being with her felt like being lost in the right direction. Coop had unthawed his icy heart and given it to True… just for her to break it. True was gone, unable to fix what she’d broken, but, lucky for Coop, True found a way.

Remi has been with Banks for ten years. She remained loyal through every lie and infidelity in hopes that her patience and understanding will eventually bring her “happily ever after” with her one true love. Finally, Banks gives her what she has always wantedâ?¦ a ring. However, that ring came with such a devasting blow, leaving Remi unsure how she will ever recoverâ?¦ until she meets True and Coop. Unbeknownst to her, these two strangers will mend her broken heart and cause her life to never, ever be the same again.

* This is a heart-wrenching, yet warming, story of broken women who find love in their darkest hours from the most unexpected and hardened hearts.

Christmas with the Littles & Wendy: Dr. Richards Littles 14: Dr. Richards’ Littles

by Pepper North

A deep voice behind Wendy observed wryly, “The Littles are having a lot of fun, aren’t they?”

Wendy turned to discover a very handsome, older man with a large mustache was standing behind her. With a quick smile, she offered him the delicacies on her tray. “Would you care for an appetizer, sir?” The man made her nervous. Not like in a smarmy, leering way. She’d dealt with many of those types of men that thought if you were a server that you were also on the menu. No, this man made her uncomfortable for a different reason. He seemed to see into her thoughts and read her feelings of longing. She’d been on her own for a long time. This closely-knit group was enviable. They were not only having fun at the holidays, but they all seemed to care for each other. She quickly diverted her eyes afraid he would see more reflected in her eyes.

“The Littles always enjoy getting together. They really enjoy the holidays with the extra bonus of presents,” the man said evenly. His tone didn’t indicate that he was giving away any secrets but that this was a normal path of conversations.
Before Wendy could stop herself, she blurted out her question, “Littles? Why do you call them Littles?” Immediately she turned bright red and apologized, “I’m sorry. It’s none of my business. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll take this tray to the other guests.

Here’s my Christmas present to you! You must have all been good Little boys, girls, Mommies, or Daddies. Enjoy a holiday tale featuring many of the Littles you’ve met in the first thirteen stories! Then, enjoy meeting the newest Little who just introduced herself to us all!

Pepper North

Some of the characters from the first thirteen novels in this series reappear to continue their stories. You do not need to read the stories in order. All are complete stories. The books in this series will feature invasive medical treatments, including thorough examinations and enemas when required, as well as diaper changes, spankings and other punishments. If you are offended by age play (adults who choose to live as a Little or a parent of a Little), or dubious consent, this is not the book for you.

Shanann Watts, Chris Watts, Nichol Kessinger and Trent Bolte: Evidence Photos of Text Messages Reveal Adultery, Marriage Trouble, In-Law Drama

by Brooke Bard

The photos and screenshots of text messages contained in this book reveal a Facebook-perfect family in trouble. Shanann Watts’ texts to her friends and her husband, Chris Watts, are clearly revealed, with Shanann’s photo and name at the top of the screenshots. As for Trent Bolte – Chris’ alleged male lover – those texts can be seen dated in 2017, with discussions about “ghosting” and the like.

Also clear is the fact that Shanann was desperate to try and save her marriage and get advice from her friends about what to do. Chris Watts, meanwhile, was busy in the midst of an adulterous affair with Nichol Kessinger – whose texts are also included.

Chris Watts’ name is clearly shown at the top of most of his texts, which range from sports talk with his buddies and shop talk with his colleagues – amid sexy talk with Nichol. But the talk about family problems and trying to solve arguments turns into texts of Chris pretending not to know what has happened to his family as Monday, August 13, 2018, arrives.

See the photos released from the murderous tragedy – revealing the inside of the Watts Family home – to the grounds where Chris disposed of their bodies. It is a tragedy look at a family that won’t soon be forgotten.

My Mental Boot Camp: Volume 1: Removing the Weeds

    by Dr. Justin O. James

“My Mental Boot Camp” is intended to heal the broken, wounded, and discouraged.

At times in life, we all go through extreme tragedy, adversity, and pain. Occasionally, most of us, if not all, find ourselves in a bad place mentally. For some, it is the loss of a loved one. For others, it may be financial or health related. Oftentimes, the conditions that we find ourselves in is not our fault. Other times, it is. No matter, the cause or contributing factors, we owe it to ourselves to wake up every day and to make the best of our situations.

The premise of “My Mental Boot Camp” was derived during my own personal tragedies and chronicles the process, principles, and behaviors which I used for my own mental, spiritual, and personal healing. From a failed marriage engagement, failed business, legal issues, health issues, personal character deterioration, addiction, and financial bankruptcy, I found myself in a position where I could quit and give up or fight to succeed and thrive. I chose the latter of the two.

To live is to encounter adversity. As long as we have breath in our lungs and blood pumping through our veins, adversity is inevitable. However, it is up to us how we respond and continue to move forward. Without a test there can be no testimony, and without the mess there is no message.

In this book, you will experience the journey and process that I refer to as “My Mental Boot Camp”. This transformational journey will change your thoughts, behaviors, actions, and life. I should know. It worked for me and WILL WORK FOR YOU as well.

The unwavering goal of this book is to bring pervasive hope to all. Furthermore, the goal of “My Mental Boot Camp” is to encourage, inform, and inspire all who read it.

Our destiny, dreams, and purpose are not bound to “our past” and “our future” is not ruined because of it. Stay encouraged. Creating change in our lives is as simple as changing ourselves. As the great life coach and motivational speaker, Jim Rohn puts it, “we can have more, because we can become more.” As we believe in and discipline ourselves to make the right changes today, this will affect our lives tomorrow. Our Past Actions = Our Present Life, but Our Present Actions = Our Future Life. If willing to take persistent and practical action, equipped with this knowledge, our potential is limitless.

“My Mental Boot Camp” intentionally invokes and puts into action on “today” the principles, behaviors, and beliefs that will impact our lives on “tomorrow”. Each day, we will 1) introduce a new topic 2) discuss its’ importance, core message, and driving principles 3) read relevant inspirational quotes 4) review devotional scriptures, and 5) engage in a daily challenge. As we progress each day, the goal is to not only to meet the current day’s challenge, but also the challenges of each previous day. As we progress, and the principles are put into action, you will gradually feel and become more mentally fit and enjoy a richer sense of satisfaction.

By the end of My Mental Boot Camp, your thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, actions, and life will be much healthier. How can I be so sure? Because, this process transformed me from suicidal, desperate, bitter, and depressed to joyful, loving, thriving, and full of life.

Though the theme of this book is mental fitness, topics covered in “My Mental Boot Camp” include: mental, spiritual, physical, relational, financial, professional and familial principles. It is my experience and belief that a person can only be mentally fit by addressing all aspects of life.

Enjoy the journey! – Dr. Justin O. James

HOW TO CURE ECZEMA IN KIDS: Miracle Remedies That Really Work

        by Anne Worthington

Eczema is a debilitating skin condition that can dramatically affect the sufferer’s quality of life. But I’m going to share with you the simple remedies that cured severe eczema for both my daughters.

But I’ll be clear on this: when I say “cure”, I mean my all visible signs of it were completely gone. Not even a minor rash. But it does not mean my daughters genes have been modified, and eczema appears to be a permanent condition. So if my daughters were to stop the remedies we’re using, their eczema would return. For example, giving them too much chocolate always results in a rash. So they only get chocolate at Easter, and not too much of it.

The answer is not steroid creams or drugs, which do provide temporary relief but are not a permanent solution. If you follow the simple instructions in this book, you’ll see an enormous improvement in your condition.

Presidential â??Dirty Deedsâ? : Donald Trump Trauma Triggers Holiday Hostility

        by Dave Masko

Presidential “Dirty Deeds” by Dave Masko. Reclaiming America after Congress dumps Donald Trump in 2019 is “my best Christmas present,” said Barbara Peterson, a 87-year-old grandma and teacher who explained once odious Trump is removed from the White House in the New Year, “it will be a united Congress that must work hard together to unravel the problems caused by this always deceitful man,” explained Peterson, one of the many deeply concerned senior citizenry interviewed in real-life along Oregon’s peaceful coast. While telling younger Americans that staying calm during this forthcoming Trump Impeachment is the best thing to do, there is little peace in the hearts minds of these seniors because of “Trump’s dirty deeds.” For instance, Trump’s longtime lawyer and so-called “fixer,” told ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos during a televised interview Dec. 14, 2018 that the president knew the hush money to silence two women having secret affairs with him were wrong and illegal. “I am done with the lying,” Cohen said in the interview. “I am done being loyal to President Trump. I will not be the villain of this story.” This special “new journalism” Kindle e-book report features essays that explain how social networking “news feeds” on Facebook and other “Big Brother” Internet surveillance platforms aided Trump’s 2016 election; while pointing to the odious information technology industry as they key backer of Trump’s “dirty deeds.” At the same time, more and more Americans are feeling and acting angry because “Trump pisses America off each and every day with lies and more deceptions,” say deeply concerned senior Americans saying they no longer recognize America in this time of Trump.

Pensieri, Parabole, Ellissi: Aforismi per un pensiero nuovo (Italian Edition)

by Antonio Romano

ABDULLAH OCALAN: The Leader of Self-Sacrifice For Kurdistan

by Hamma Mirwaisi

The Word Abdullah Ocalan and Kurd have one thing in common; both are the name come into existence because of the resistance against the occupiers of the Kurdistan. The struggle by the Kurdish people to be free from occupiers and live in the land belongs to their forefather peacefully made histories. The famous Jewish historian Josephus’ stated in the Antiquities of the Jews history – Prefaceâ??There are those who write histories in order to gratify those that happen to be concerned in them, and on that account have spared no pains, but rather gone beyond their own abilities in the performance: but others there are, who, of necessity and by force, are driven to write history, because they are concerned in the facts, and so cannot excuse themselves from committing them to writing, for the advantage of posterity’.

Of Dancing & War: A story of friendship, violence, and human nature.

by Paul Lacey

In this stark novella, ex-Royal Marine, Paul Lacey, takes the reader on a disturbing interrogation of modern combat and how readily the human mind adapts to extreme violence. Of Dancing & War is an unapologetic story of war, with all the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of battle.

Warren is new to war. Flown in under cover of darkness, Warren joins his comrades and finds himself in an immediate fight for survival. Abandoned, outnumbered, and surrounded on a rooftop in a remote town in Afghanistan, Warren must learn the brutal truth of human nature in conflict.

“Bright light, heat, and confusion surrounded him. Dust and smoke dimmed his vision and stung his eyes, and shouts and gunfire spun around him. He smelt everything. Concrete, dust, burnt hessian, and the acrid nose stinging scent of explosives. There was another smell. A smell that sunk deep into him and awoke a base repulsion. It was a thick and bitter smell, almost like the sea, organic.”

10% of all proceeds will be donated to Combat Stress – the UK’s leading Veterans’ mental health charity.

Combat Stress is very grateful to receive proceeds from Of Dancing & War – A story of friendship, violence, and human nature, written by Paul Lacey. Combat Stress is not affiliated with the author and does not endorse the content of this book.

Native Crimes

by Steven Wright

Among the aromatic red cedars of southwestern Oklahoma live a small group of Native Americans descendants of the Apache tribe and Geronimo’s last band of warriors. 100 years after being freed as prisoners of war, the tribe is still surviving. Payat Daniels is a modern day member of the tribe and a survivor in his own right. Orphaned at an early age, he is now ready to graduate from college and embark on a new life full of hope and promise.

His plans change dramatically when his past resurfaces and he is forced to confront his motherâ??s murderer as well as deep secrets in his family ancestry. Secrets that swirl around a lost family relic, mysterious medicine men, and a highly prized Indian knife. His story brings to life historically accurate events that document and authenticate the existence of the knife. Thought lost forever to the chaos of the time, its emergence reveals evidence of an astonishing truthâ?¦a truth concealed for centuries.

In a desperate race to save his own life, he must first learn to embrace his Indian heritage and reconcile it with his Christian faith. Many of the answers he seeks went to the grave with the famous chiefs and medicine men of the late 1800’s, during an era of time complicated by lies, deceit, murder, and betrayal with consequences that still haunt the tribe today. Rich in Indian mythology and legend, the story is crafted on true Native American history and events that still haunt a nation coming to terms with the Indian assimilation policies of the 1800’s.

As Payat begins to dig into the past, he finds himself inspired by the stories of two famous women warriors that fought for justice and survival. Racing against time and over his head in a dangerous situation, his mission is clouded by a young woman from college that is both his friend and foeâ?¦with a surprising secret of her own!

Jane Austen-inspired, Pride and Prejudice Variation; Sweet Regency Romance

Storykeeper (Nine-Rivers Valley Book 1)

by Daniel A. Smith

“A stunning novel and a joy to read” Helen Hollick, Managing Editor – Historical Novel Society (Editor’s Choice)
“Smith writes fluidly, and the society he depicts is intriguingly complex.” – Kirkus Reviews
“Steeped in immediacy and vivid detail.” D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer – Midwest Book Review

The first recorded Europeans to cross the Mississippi River reached the western shore on June 18, 1541. Hernando De Soto and his army of three hundred and fifty conquistadors spent the next year and a half conquering the nations in the fertile flood plains of eastern Arkansas.

Three surviving sixteenth-century journals written during the expedition detailed a complex array of twelve different nations. Each had separate beliefs, languages, and interconnected villages with capital towns comparable in size to European cities of the time. Through these densely populated sites, the Spanish carried a host of deadly old-world diseases, a powerful new religion, and war.

No other Europeans ventured into this land until French explorers arrived one hundred and thirty years later. They found nothing of the people or the towns that the Spanish had so vividly described. For those lost nations, the only hope that their stories, their last remaining essence will ever be heard again lies with one unlikely Storykeeper.

Editorial Reviews of Storykeeper, winner of Best Indie Book Award 2013

“â??A man without a story is one without a past,’ Smith writes, â??and a man without a past is one without wisdom.’ By the time readers have wandered freely through the strange realm of the Storykeeper, they may well find those words more prophetic, and more powerful.” – Kirkus Reviews

“Storykeeper is a complex read . . . With both perspective and time in flux, readers are carried along on a historical and cultural journey that, while compelling, requires attention to detail: not for those seeking light entertainment, it’s a saga that demands – and deserves – careful reading and contemplation.” D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer – Midwest Book Review

“I was not only entertained by this book, but educated about a period of history of which I knew nothing. I loved the chapter structure which has a rhythm of its own, all wrapped in an attractive and appropriate cover. I have no hesitation in recommending this book no matter where your historical interest may lie. I give it 5 stars!” Helen Hollick, Managing Editor – Historical Novel Society (Editor’s Choice)

“Smith has created a wealth of history and culture that will make you weep. Creating words and phrases with a poetic sense, building a feel for Native American culture that feels so genuine and, yet, is eminently readable.” Kathy Davie – Books, Movies, Reviews!

“I love this story, and I applaud Daniel A. Smith on his diligent research. Smith writes some strong characters in this gripping story. Every human emotion is engaged, and at times I felt like I was right there with Manaha and the tribes who fought against DeSoto. Superbly done. I’m sure I will be reading this book again.” SK – The Jelly Bomb Review

“The book’s images, enhanced by objective historical writing are portals into the distant past, sometimes humorous, often heartbreaking, but always illuminating.” Fred Petrucelli – Log Cabin

The War of the Jews: against the Roman Empire

by David Mandel

THE WAR OF THE JEWS against the Roman Empire recounts the Great Jewish Rebellion of the 1st Century (66 CE to 73 CE) against the Roman Empire. It is a novelization of the book of Josephus Flavius (Josef ben Matityahu), “The War of the Jews,” in which the protagonist, participant, and historian of the war, narrates it, in a frank and objective way, the war from both sides of the conflict.

The Great Jewish Rebellion, which ended with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, was one of the greatest tragedies in the history of the Jewish people, and the beginning of an exile that lasted 2,000 years.

The book narrates, in the clear and entertaining style of David Mandel, the causes, events, and consequences of the Great Rebellion, whose effects we still feel in our days and helps us to understand contemporary developments in the Middle East.

“The War of the Jews” is a novel that everyone interested in knowing better the history of the Jewish people will enjoy.

The Winds of Avignon

by Mary Alexandra Watt

Set in fourteenth century France and Italy, against the backdrop of the Albigensian Crusade, the Templar trials, and the Black Death, The Winds of Avignon is a sensuous and often violent tale of dreams pitted against desire, the struggle between survival and sacrifice and the never-ending conflict between ambition and integrity. Based on historical events, this is the story of Italian poet Francesco Petrarca’s troubled friendship with the Roman revolutionary Cola di Rienzo, and the disastrous consequences of Cola’s infatuation with Francesco’s muse, Laura.

When his best friend, Cola di Rienzo, proposes revolution in fourteenth century Rome, the poet Francesco Petrarca must choose between loyalty to his powerful patron, the Roman Cardinal Giovanni Colonna, and his lifelong dream of an Eternal City free from tyranny. Francesco’s choice is further complicated by the revelation that supporting Cola’s rebellion not only threatens his own social status but also means risking the life of his muse and object of his unrequited love, Laure de Sade (whom he calls “Laura”). When Francesco learns, however, that Cola has betrayed their friendship by sleeping with Laure, the poet’s fury leads him down a path of destruction that has disastrous consequences for Cola, Laura, the Colonna family and, most significantly, for Francesco’s tortured soul.

Historical Context:
In the early fourteenth century, civil unrest in Rome compels the papacy to transfer to the safety of Avignon in the south of France. In the absence of a central authority, Rome is plunged into full blown civil war as the great baronial families, most notably, the Orsini and the Colonna, fight each other for control of the Eternal City. When neither the Holy Roman Emperor, Henry VII, nor Pope Clement VI are able to resolve the conflict, the city continues its slide into even deeper decay.

The Principal Characters:
Cola di Rienzo: Roman notary and illegitimate son of Emperor Henry VII. Appalled by the decadence and violence of fourteenth century Rome, Cola formulates a plan for reform. Opposed by the Roman baronial families who see him as a threat to their power, Cola goes to Avignon to seek papal support for his plans. When Pope Clement refuses Cola’s request, the notary finds support for his revolution amongst the Cathars, a heretical sect, long hunted by the papacy.

Francesco Petrarca:An Italian émigré raised in Avignon, Francesco eventually becomes a famous lyric poet. Like Cola, Francesco laments Rome’s state of decay and yearns for its resurgence. He meets Cola when the notary comes to Avignon seeking the Pope’s support for his program of reform. They become great friends and rivals in love.
Cardinal Giovanni Colonna: Cardinal and advisor to Pope Clement in Avignon, Giovanni is also Francesco’s patron. As a member of the powerful Colonna family, Giovanni opposes Cola’s reforms and will use whatever means necessary to destroy him.

Laure de Sade: Called “Laura” by Francesco, she is both his muse and the object of his unrequited love. When Laure, a Cathar, meets Cola in Avignon, they secretly become lovers. Giovanni learns of the affair from his spies and reveals it to Francesco in an effort to have the poet publicly denounce Cola. Francesco, in his rage, not only denounces Cola, but also reveals the affair to Laure’s abusive husband, Hugues de Sade.

When she takes the position of companion to the cantankerous Roberta Montague, whose home the gems are suspected to be hidden, she did not plan on becoming attached to the old lady. Nor did she expect to be attracted to the Earl of Somerton, Roberta’s grandson. As things become more difficult and Laura begins to feel guilty, she is determined to find the jewels as soon as possible before she can no longer deny her attraction to the only man she has ever wanted.

Nathan Montague, the Earl of Somerton, is summoned home by his grandmother on the pretence of a problem with the estate. Before he even arrives home, he knows he is going to be pressured into marriage by the old lady. However, when he meets his grandmother’s new companion, he is immediately attracted to her. He finds himself spending more and more time on his estate and less in London.

As time goes on, Nathan becomes suspicious of just why Laura Fitzwilliam is really here, and he is determined to find out what she is hiding. As the young woman takes over the running of the household he begins to think that it might be time he took a wife after all, and the only one who will do for that role is the woman that has stolen his heart.

Given Away, A Sicilian Upbringing: Winner of The Sons of Italy Literary Award, 2016

by Marianna Randazzo

In Sicily, 1935 a four-year child walks away from her loving family, her mother, her sister and an infant brother, with a great-aunt for a vacation. She spends the next eight years of her life absent from their lives. It was not an abduction nor was it an adoption. Tina lives in a one-room house in one of the poorest regions of Sicily. She sleeps between a loving aunt and a deranged uncle. She shares her breakfast with goats and chickens while living in the shadow of fascism. The child grows up while WW II ravages the town. Her school is taken over by German soldiers and the things like bread and eggs that were once plentiful, no longer exist. Less than 25 kilometers away her family leads a very different life. After eight years, she returns home to find her childhood interrupted again. This time sickness, warfare and destruction are her enemies. In wartime Europe, childhood does not exist. The child witnesses and experiences many disturbing things from her uncouth, unsanitary living conditions to the failed paratroopers dangling from trees during the allied invasion.
Tina is a survivor. She is able to forgive those who took so much away from her. Her spirit trumps over adversity during the war times within and around her. As she grows older, she struggles to keep the harsh realities of World War II and abandonment at a distance through her sense of humor, imagination and determination.
By the age of 15, her fate is sealed, again, without her permission. To gain passage to America she must accept the role as a war bride. A tyrannical, overbearing, bootlegging aunt in America arranges the match. Tina must live under her roof and her rules until her citizenship is secure.
Tina has earned the right to complain, yet at no point does she play the victim. At times, her nonjudgmental stance is disquieting. Despite circumstances that could be categorized as abusive and undeniably negligent. Tina respects her parent’s decisions and sacrifices herself for the greater goodâ??even when it is not apparent to her.
Despite a raging war, Tina thinks about her family and her friends more than about the horrors of the battle fought across the continents, even when she is a victim of the German soldiers’ mockery and the American soldier’s unusual ways. She is remarkably clever and insightful. The plot and setting are true to life in the period of the past. It will bring the history of war torn Europe to life, providing us a lens upon our collective past that define our unique lives.
Tina triumphs against all odds with an unconditional love for a family that despite its profound flaws gave her the fortitude to carve out a successful life on her own terms. Given Away,A Sicilian Upbringing, demonstrates that even in the midst of the most horrendous conditions of war, without trivializing the historical tragedy, perseverance prevails as Tina declares what is rightfully hers.

“This novel is an excellent read. Mixing scientific fact with religious history and the supernatural, it moves readers relentlessly through a suspenseful tapestry of action. Its images are vivid, the characters lively, and their control of the story line makes for a real page turner. I’m anxious to see their next book.”

Ein Stein für Fritz Bauer: Roman (German Edition)

by Sylvain Treperman

The Gift of Christmas: The Final Winter

by Jim Bob Striplin

James and family speed through the dark alleyways of Victorian London, offering the Gift of Christmas to anyone willing to accept. Their mission, as the spirits of Christmas, has taken them to the four corners of the earth and beyond, back and forth in time; yet a strange burden for the town that raised them continues to drive the three to its aid.
With only days remaining until Christmas, they double their efforts to ensure that all is perfect in the final hours. Decorations of red and green are strung throughout the city, white candles are all set into their places and every weary soul within the ancient square mile is mended. All is well until the devil himself, sensing that the planet is ripe for his taking, makes one final push to bring his evil plan to fruition.
During this eleventh hour, James and his family find themselves fighting for their lives. Will the evil one’s final winter be menacing enough to overcome the forces of Christmas and bring civilization, as we know it, to a bitter end?

The Count of Monte Cristo

by Alexandre Dumas

The Count of Monte Cristo (French: Le Comte de Monte-Cristo) is an adventure novel by Alexandre Dumas, père. It is often considered, along with The Three Musketeers, as Dumas’ most popular work. It is also among the highest selling books of all time. The writing of the work was completed in 1844. Like many of his novels, it is expanded from the plot outlines suggested by his collaborating ghostwriter Auguste Maquet.

The story takes place in France, Italy, islands in the Mediterranean and the Levant during the historical events of 1815-1838 (from just before the Hundred Days through the reign of Louis-Philippe of France). The historical setting is a fundamental element of the book. It is primarily concerned with themes of hope, justice, vengeance, mercy, forgiveness and death, and is told in the style of an adventure story.

The Three Musketeers: Collection

by Alexandre Dumas

This carefully crafted ebook: “THE THREE MUSKETEERS – Complete Collection: The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, The Vicomte of Bragelonne, Ten Years Later, Louise da la Valliere & The Man in the Iron Mask” is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents.
Set in 1625, “The Three Musketeers” recounts the adventures of a young man named d’Artagnan after he leaves home to travel to Paris, to join the Musketeers of the Guard. Although D’Artagnan is not able to join this elite corps immediately, he befriends the three most formidable musketeers of the age: Athos, Porthos and Aramis and gets involved in affairs of the state and court. Dumas frequently works into the plot various injustices, abuses and absurdities of the old regime, giving the story an additional political aspect at a time when the debate in France between republicans and monarchists was still fierce.
The novel Twenty Years After follows events in France during the Fronde, during the childhood reign of Louis XIV. The musketeers are valiant and just in their efforts to protect young Louis XIV and the doomed Charles I from their attackers.
The Vicomte de Bragelonne, Louise de la Vallière and The Man in the Iron Mask are set between 1660 and 1667 against the background of the transformation of Louis XIV from child monarch to Sun King.
Alexandre Dumas, père (1802-1870) was a French writer whose works have been translated into nearly 100 languages and he is one of the most widely read French authors. His most famous works are The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers.

The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection: 221B (Illustrated)

by Arthur Conan Doyle

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who first appeared in publication in 1887. He is the creation of Scottish born author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A brilliant London-based detective, Holmes is famous for his intellectual prowess, and is renowned for his skillful use of deductive reasoning (somewhat mistakenly – see inductive reasoning) and astute observation to solve difficult cases. He is arguably the most famous fictional detective ever created, and is one of the best known and most universally recognizable literary characters in any genre.

Conan Doyle wrote four novels and fifty-six short stories that featured Holmes. All but four stories were narrated by Holmes’ friend and biographer, Dr. John H. Watson, two having been narrated by Holmes himself, and two others written in the third person. The first two stories, short novels, appeared in Beeton’s Christmas Annual for 1887 and Lippincott’s Monthly Magazine in 1890. The character grew tremendously in popularity with the beginning of the first series of short stories in The Strand Magazine in 1891; further series of short stories and two serialized novels appeared almost right up to Conan Doyle’s death in 1930. The stories cover a period from around 1878 up to 1903, with a final case in 1914.

This collection contains all the 60 official and the 6 unofficial Sherlock Holmes stories – in total 66 works (the biggest and greatest Sherlock Holmes collection in the eBook world)

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, generally known as Frankenstein, is a novel written by the British author Mary Shelley. The title of the novel refers to a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who learns how to create life and creates a being in the likeness of man, but larger than average and more powerful. In popular culture, people have tended to refer to the Creature as “Frankenstein”, despite this being the name of the scientist. Frankenstein is a novel infused with some elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement. It was also a warning against the “over-reaching” of modern man and the Industrial Revolution, alluded to in the novel’s subtitle, The Modern Prometheus. The story has had an influence across literature and popular culture and spawned a complete genre of horror stories and films. It is arguably considered the first fully realized science fiction novel.

The Brothers Karamazov

by Fyodor Dostoevsky

The Brothers Karamazov is the final novel by the Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky, and is generally considered the culmination of his life’s work. Dostoevsky spent nearly two years writing The Brothers Karamazov, which was published as a serial in The Russian Messenger and completed in November 1880. Dostoevsky intended it to be the first part in an epic story titled The Life of a Great Sinner, but he died less than four months after its publication.

The book portrays a parricide in which each of the murdered man’s sons share a varying degree of complicity. On a deeper level, it is a spiritual drama of moral struggles concerning faith, doubt, reason, free will and modern Russia. Dostoevsky composed much of the novel in Staraya Russa, which is also the main setting of the novel.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales

by Jacob & Wilhem Grimm

Once upon a time, two brothers wished to preserve their German folklore in a collection of tales that they believed had been handed down for generations. When they began in 1812 they had just 86 stories that rather harshly reflected the difficult life of European peasantry. Subsequent editions would grow to hold over 200 tales. As time passed, the Brothers Grimm found that their collection of fairy tales, with all of its royalty, magical creatures, and brave adventures, entranced those who read them. This compilation of fairy tales which includes the complete canon of over 200 tales has become a beloved set of classical stories the world over. Presented here in this edition is the faithful translation of Margaret Hunt.

The Mystery of the Semi-Detached

by Edith Nesbit

” He was waiting for her, he had been waiting an hour and a half in a dusty suburban lane, with a row of big elms on one side and some eligible building sites on the other-and far away to the south-west the twinkling yellow lights of the Crystal Palace. It was not quite like a country lane, for it had a pavement and lamp-posts, but it was not a bad place for a meeting all the same: and farther up, towards the cemetery, it was really quite rural, and almost pretty, especially in twilight But twilight had long deepened into the night, and still he waited. He loved her, and he was engaged to be married to her, with the complete disapproval of every reasonable person who had been consulted. And this half-clandestine meeting was tonight to take the place of the grudgingly sanctioned weekly interview-because a certain rich uncle was visiting at her house, and her mother was not the woman to acknowledge to a moneyed uncle, who might “go off” any day, a match so deeply ineligible as hers with him. “

The complete works of Saki

by Saki

Saki’s (a.k.a Hector Hugh Munro) unique brand of humor has resonated with readers for over a century. Both macabre and also at times vicious, his writing nonetheless manages to perfectly capture the trivial absurdities of the Edwardian era in England.

His subjects are almost always louche members of the upper classes – in particular his perfectly observed anti-heroes such as Clovis and Reginald – who wouldn’t feel out of place in the world of P.G Wodehouse’s ‘Bertie Wooster’.

The fatal flaw of hypocrisy receives particular attention in Saki’s world, with vengeful justice often meted out in the most unlikely and unexpected fashion by birds, beasts and children alike.

This collection contains both novels by Saki, all of his short story collections, and also his individual short stories the were published outside collections – in total 145 separate works.

Complete Fairy Tales

by Hans Christian Andersen

This book contains the complete Andersen’s 127 fairy tales and stories in the chronological order of their original publication. Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author and poet. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales, a literary genre he so mastered that he himself has become as mythical as the tales he wrote. Andersen’s popularity is not limited to children; his storiesâ??called eventyrs, or “fantastic tales”â??express themes that transcend age and nationality. During his lifetime he was acclaimed for having delighted children worldwide and was feted by royalty. Andersen’s fairy tales, which have been translated into more than 125 languages, have become culturally embedded in the West’s collective consciousness, readily accessible to children, but presenting lessons of virtue and resilience in the face of adversity for mature readers as well. They have inspired motion pictures, plays, ballets, and animated films.

Together with his brother and companion Chingachgook, they roam the frontier through a variety of harrowing adventures.

Complete Essays

by Michel de Montaigne

Michel de Montaigne was one of the most influential figures of the Renaissance, singlehandedly responsible for popularising the essay as a literary form.

In 1572, Montaigne retired to his estates in order to devote himself to leisure, reading and reflection. There he wrote his constantly expanding ‘essays’, inspired by the ideas he found in books from his library and his own experience.

He discusses subjects as diverse as war-horses and cannibals, poetry and politics, sex and religion, love and friendship, ecstasy and experience. Above all, Montaigne studied himself to find his own inner nature and that of humanity. The Essays are among the most idiosyncratic and personal works in all literature. An insight into a wise Renaissance mind, they continue to engage, enlighten and entertain modern readers.

Born in 1533, Michel de Montaigne studied law and spent a number of years working as a counsellor before devoting his life to reading, writing and reflection. He died in 1586.

The Novels of Mrs Aphra Behn

by Aphra Behn

Aphra Behn (1640-1689) was a spy for Charles II, a playwright, poet, and novelist, and the first English woman to make a living from writing. Her pen name was Astrea.

Ernest A. Baker (1869-1941) was an English writer and historian of literature. In 1905, 216 years after Mrs Behn’s death, he introduced this collection of ten of her novels in the language of his day, a form which was not a facsimile of her texts. This ebook, prepared 329 years after her death, silently corrects some typos, and makes further changes. The Introduction and three of the stories contain many poems.

The ten stories are: Oronooko, The Fair Jilt, The Nun, Agnes de Castro, The Lover’s Watch, The Case for the Watch, The Lady’s Looking Glass, The Lucky Mistake, The Court of the King of Bantam, and, The Adventure of the Black Lady.

The Richard Hannay Collection: The 39 Steps, Greenmantle, Mr. Standfast

by John Buchan

Major General Sir Richard Hannay is the fictional secret agent created by writer and diplomat John Buchan, who was himself an Intelligence officer during the First World War. The strong and silent type, combining the dour temperament of the Scot with the stiff upper lip of the Englishman, Hannay is pre-eminent among early spy-thriller heroes. Caught up in the first of these five gripping adventures just before the outbreak of war in 1914, he manages to thwart the enemy’s evil plan and solve the mystery of the ‘thirty-nine steps’. In Greenmantle, he undertakes a vital mission to prevent jihad in the Islamic Near East. Mr Standfast, set in the decisive months of 1917-18, is the novel in which Hannay, after a life lived ‘wholly among men’, finally falls in love; later, in The Three Hostages, he finds himself unravelling a kidnapping mystery with his wife’s help. In the last adventure, The Island of Sheep, he is called upon to honour an old oath. A shrewd judge of men, he never dehumanises his enemy, and despite sharing some of the racial prejudices of his day, Richard Hannay is a worthy prototype hero of espionage fiction.

by Emile Zola

Nana is a novel by the French naturalist author Ã?mile Zola. Completed in 1880, Nana is the ninth installment in the 20-volume Les Rougon-Macquart series, which was to tell “The Natural and Social History of a Family under the Second Empire.”

The novel was an immediate success. Le Voltaire, the French newspaper that was to publish it in installments from October 1879 on, had launched a gigantic advertising campaign, raising the curiosity of the reading public to a fever pitch. When Charpentier finally published Nana in book form in February 1880, the first edition of 55,000 copies was sold out in one day. Flaubert and Edmond de Goncourt were full of praise for Nana. On the other hand, a part of the non-reading public, spurred on by some critics, reacted to the book with outrage. While the novel is held up as a fine example of writing, it is not especially true to Zola’s touted naturalist philosophy; instead, it is one of the most symbolically complex of his novels, setting it apart from the earthy “realism” of L’Assommoir or the more brutal “realism” of La Terre (1887). However, it was a great deal more authentic than most contemporary novels about the demimonde.

Nana is especially noted for the crowd scenes, of which there are many, in which Zola proves himself a master of capturing the incredible variety of people. Whereas in his other novels — notably Germinal (1885) — he gives the reader an amazingly complete picture of surroundings and the lives of characters, from the first scene we are to understand that this novel treads new ground.

Flaubert summed up the novel in one perfect sentence:

Nana tourne au mythe, sans cesser d’être réelle.
(Nana turns into myth, without ceasing to be real.)

His Last Bow

by Arthur Conan Doyle

His Last Bow is a collection of seven Sherlock Holmes stories (eight in American editions) by Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as the title of one of the stories in that collection. Originally published in 1917, it contains the various Holmes stories published between 1908 and 1913, as well as the one-off title story from 1917.

The collection was originally called Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes and did not contain the actual story His Last Bow, which appeared later, after the full-length The Valley of Fear was published. However later editions added it and changed the title. Some recent complete editions have restored the earlier title.

When the Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes were published in the USA for the first time, the publishers believed “The Adventure of the Cardboard Box” was too scandalous for the American public, since it dealt with the theme of adultery. As a result, this story was not published in the USA until many years later, when it was added to His Last Bow. Even today, most American editions of the canon include it with His Last Bow, while most British editions keep the story in its original place in The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.

To the Queen

by William Shakespeare

“To the Queen” (or “To The Queen by the players”) is a short poem attributed to William Shakespeare. It was included in 2007 by Jonathan Bate in his complete Shakespeare edition for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The poem, written on the back of an envelope, is thought to have been written as an epilogue for a performance of As You Like It given at court on Shrove Tuesday in February 1599. American scholars William Ringler and Steven May discovered the poem in 1972 in the notebook of a man called Henry Stanford, who is known to have worked in the household of the Lord Chamberlain.

It consists of 18 lines.

The Incomplete Amorist

by Edith Nesbit

A gentle tale of romance and art from a noted children’s author . . . “He asked idle questions: she answered them with a conscientious tremulous truthfulness that showed to him as the most finished art. Betty told him nervously and in words ill-chosen everything that he asked to know, but all the while the undercurrent of questions rang strong within her — ‘When is he to teach me? Where? How?’ — so that when at last there was left but the bare fifteen minutes needed to get one home in time for the midday dinner she said abruptly: ‘And when shall I see you again?’

Henry IV (Complete Plays)

by William Shakespeare

Henry IV, Part 1 is a history play by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written no later than 1597. It is the second of Shakespeare’s tetralogy that deals with the successive reigns of Richard II, Henry IV (2 plays), and Henry V. Henry IV, Part 1 depicts a span of history that begins with Hotspur’s battle at Homildon against the Douglas late in 1402 and ends with the defeat of the rebels at Shrewsbury in the middle of 1403. From the start it has been an extremely popular play both with the public and the critics.

Henry IV, Part 2 is a history play by William Shakespeare, believed written between 1596 and 1599. It is the third part of a tetralogy, preceded by Richard II and Henry IV, Part 1 and succeeded by Henry V.

The Pit and the Pendulum

by Edgar Allan Poe

The Pit and the Pendulum” is a short story written by Edgar Allan Poe and first published in 1842. The story is about the torments endured by a prisoner of the Spanish Inquisition, though Poe skews historical facts. The narrator of the story is deemed guilty for an unnamed crime and put into a completely dark room. He passes out while trying to determine the size of the room. When he wakes up, he realizes there is a large, deep pit in the middle of the room. He loses consciousness again and awakens strapped on his back, unable to move more than his head. He soon realizes there is a large blade-like pendulum hanging above him, slowly getting closer to cutting through his chest. He finds a way to escape but the walls of his prison start to move and close in on him, pushing him closer and closer to falling into the pit.

The story is especially effective at inspiring fear in the reader because of its heavy focus on the senses, such as sound, emphasizing its reality, unlike many of Poe’s stories which are aided by the supernatural. The traditional elements established in popular horror tales at the time are followed but critical reception has been mixed.

The Balloon-Hoax

by Edgar Allan Poe

This tale appeared in the New York Sun in 1844 and claimed a group of men successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a new type of balloon. Although the story looked real, it was completely fiction and created entirely from Poe’s imagination.

Two On A Tower

by Thomas Hardy

Two On A Tower is a tale of star-crossed love in which Hardy sets the emotional lives of his two lovers against the background of the stellar universe. The unhappily married Lady Constantine breaks all the rules of social decorum when she falls in love with Swithin St. Cleeve, an astronomer who is eight years her junior. Her husband’s death leaves the lovers free to marry, but the discovery of a legacy forces them apart. This is Hardy’s most complete treatment of the theme of love across the class and age divide and the fullest expression of his fascination with science and astronomy.

by Newton Booth Tarkington

Penrod is a collection of comic sketches by Booth Tarkington that was first published in 1914. The book follows the misadventures of Penrod Schofield, an eleven-year-old boy growing up in the pre-World War I Midwestern United States, in a similar vein to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In Penrod, Tarkington established characters who appeared in two further books, Penrod and Sam (1916) and Penrod Jashber (1929). The three books were published together in one volume, Penrod: His Complete Story, in 1931.

Henry VI (Complete Plays)

by William Shakespeare

The First Part of King Henry the Sixth is history play by William Shakespeare, believed written in approximately 1588-1590. It is the first in the cycle of four plays often referred to as “The First Tetralogy”.

The Second Part of King Henry the Sixth, or Henry VI, Part 2, is a history play by William Shakespeare believed written in approximately 1590-91. It is the second part of the trilogy on Henry VI, and often grouped together with Richard III as a tetralogy on The Wars of the Rosesâ??the success of which established Shakespeare’s reputation as a playwright.

Henry the Sixth, Part 3, is a history play by William Shakespeare, believed written in approximately 1590, and set during the lifetime of King Henry VI of England. It prepares the ground for one of his best-known and most controversial plays: the tragedy of King Richard III (Richard III of England). It continues the action from Henry VI, Part 1 and Henry VI, Part 2, though they may not have been written in that order.

The Cossacks

by Leo Tolstoy

Olenin was a youth who had never completed his university course, never served anywhere (having only a nominal post in some government office or other), who had squandered half his fortune and had reached the age of twenty-four without having done anything or even chosen a career. He was what in Moscow society is termed un jeune homme. But he did find a career — he took a post as a Cadet in the army, and ended up assigned to Transcaucasia. This is the place — here among the Tatars, the Chechens, and the Old Believers — this is the place where Olenin will find love in the arms of a beautiful Cossack girl — a young woman who is promised to a Cossack warrior.

by Stuart G. Yates

In the new Rome, duplicity and death reign supreme.

It’s the mid-11th century, and the Byzantine Empire dominates the world. Within the walls of its great capital, Constantinople, treachery, debauchery and power politics are part of the lives of the ruling elite.

Thrust into this heady mix is the Viking adventurer, Harald Hardrada. Life in the court of the new emperor, deranged Michael the Fifth, holds extreme danger at every turn, as Harald becomes a pawn in the various factions’ thirst for power.

Can he survive this dangerous place, and turn his mind towards regaining what is rightfully his?

Praise for Varangian:

“…perfect blend of reality and fiction. A great story from an insightful author.” – Veritas Vincit Review

” The author weaves a fascinating and compelling story that captures the reader instantly and never lets go. In this world, seduction is a principal instrument for control, influence, espionage, sabotage and just sheer pleasure. These characters are bigger than life itself and so were their appetites for power, control, wealth and influence. A compelling and heroic tale.” – T.L. Needham, author

Typhon (French Edition)

by Joseph Conrad

by Stephen Crane

by Dante Alighieri

Balaoo (French Edition)

by Gaston Leroux

Gesammelte Werke (German Edition)

by Louise von François

Of Screams and Dreams : Volume 1: A collection of poetry

by Kerry John Furber

I was 14 when I wrote my first poem, 61 when I wrote my latest. In between, I’ve scribbled down, typed up and word-processed hundreds of the things – almost all of which materialised out of nowhere when a voice somewhere off in the back of my head said, “There’s a poem in the breech”, and incredibly, when that happened, there always was. I never set out to write poetry, never wistfully perched upon windswept cliffs, didn’t hatch a plan, inwardly ruminate or even outwardly edit. They just happened, well most of them did, anyway. They were what they were, captured in minutes like diary entries, and etched out on paper for none to see, except me. That was until the 1990’s, when the dawning of the cyber era, meant that I could hang them out to dry on a giant washing line, stretched out across the sky.

Like thousands of poets around the globe, I left them there for anyone to see and, over time, became enthused – and sometimes bemused, by the enthusiastic (or otherwise) comments of other like-minded souls, ploughing their poetic furrows into the cold, damp, consuming, dirt. Over time, I came to know some truly great cybernautic poets, poets as talented and inspiring as any in the history of the scribbled art, and it is some of they who’ve encouraged me to publish my jottings in more tangible, public, form.

So, here it is: Volume One of my two-part anthology â??of screams and dreams.’ It matters not to me if it sells a bucket load or else drowns, deep down, in the well. What matters is that I wrote these words – usually about huge things. They are as close to the inside of me as you can get without being a surgeon or a pathologist. These words are my life, my sight and, most importantly, my invisible friend.

This poetry collection spans the period 2008 to 2017.

Writing Emotions

by Rachal Denton

If you ask anyone they would say how difficult it is expressing their feelings. Expressing oneself is tough enough, but trying to convey those feelings is even harder. This book of poems was written from my own experiences. The purpose of this book is to inspire others that struggle with expressing their feeling.

Poseía Poesía: Poemario (Spanish Edition)

by Alberto Morate

Between The Lines: Volumes of Words Unspoken

by Céline Zabad

How does one describe a feeling? Some say there are no words that can perfectly reproduce one’s feelings in anotherâ??but poetry comes close.

Written with incredible honesty and self-knowledge, Between the Lines is a stunning collection of poems from Céline Zabad. Ranging in length from a single line to full pages, her poems mimic at once the brevity and vastness of feeling. Her verse is at times as free as a cloud, other times as solid as stone. Her words are philosophies and feelings in their own rights, on love, loss, loyalty, betrayal, hope, and disappointmentâ??on life.

Zabad encapsulates the thrill of love’s first blush and the freezing burn of heartbreak. Her feelings flow freely throughout the collection, lending her poetry uncommon authenticity and power. Nature thrives between the lines of her verse, reminding the reader that tears are as natural as raindrops.

Whether you’re looking for new ways to think about your own feelings or are simply passionate about poetry, you’ll find plenty to love in this collection. To better understand the complexities of emotion in yourself and others, you must read Between the Lines.

Vidas (Spanish Edition)

by Mónica Pastor

There Is a Field

by Barbara Conrad

THERE IS A FIELD bears witness to many voices, many livesâ??and the interconnectedness of those lives with one another and with the natural world. Woven in the collection are the author’s personal stories, ghostly memories and reflections on social and environmental concerns. Some of these poems dazzle, some burn. Whether the focus is a trust fall fiasco at summer camp, a landfill on Green Turtle Cay, racial realities of the ’60s, a lonely whale or a bullfrog’s response to urban renewal, these poems will linger past the page. “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,” said Rumi, “there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” In this book, the poet has created such a field.

Ribbon of Years: A Novel

by Robin Lee Hatcher

In 1936, 15-year-old Miriam Gresham of River Bluff, Idaho, wanted nothing more than to be a famous actress, just like Greta Garbo. But God had other things in mind. The remarkable story of her life of faith comes to light at an estate sale â?¦ and to restless Julianna Crosby, it’s a priceless find!

“[Hatcher] ambitiously alternates between the past seven decades and the current one to show how the influence of a life of faith can shape the destiny of others. Juliana is 44, and wishing she could start over with a clean slate. When, at an estate sale, she happens across a box of old trinkets marked ‘My Life,’ she hears firsthand the saga of Miriam, the owner of the box, from those who loved her best â?¦ Hatcher progresses through Miriam’s escapades as a teenager to her eventual death, interrupting her life story with the present-day reflections of Juliana, who comes to grips with her need for God. The writing is smooth, there’s some nice historical detail and Hatcher manages the time switches with aplomb.”
â?? Publishers Weekly (2001)

“Bring out the tissues, folks. This is a story from the author’s heart, no doubt, and her best so far. No contrived plot lines or stereotypical characters here. If this is the type of book to expect in the future from Ms. Hatcher, I can’t wait for the next one.”

The Merging: An Ian Dex Supernatural Thriller Book 1 (Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department)

by John P. Logsdon

Las Vegas is getting rampaged by ubernaturals, and only one team has the guts to step in.

Ian Dex is the captain of the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department (PPD), the crew responsible for kicking the crap out of any supernatural stupid enough to mess with the Strip. He’s a cop, a millionaire, an amalgamite, and a horndog.

Sin City is always running amok with disturbances and glitter, but sometimes those two items merge and the nightlife gets out of hand. Kind of like mixing Hell and…well, more Hell.

When an ubermage appears on the Strip, strutting around in his Chippendales-style outfit and sending out other ubernaturals to kick up dust and unleash destruction, it’s up to Ian Dex and his team to do what they do best: bust heads and shred souls.

Casinos are clamoring for help, cops are fighting tooth and nail just to survive, and tourists think it’s all part of the Vegas experience.

The weather forecast for tonight on the Strip is dark. Very damn dark…and bloody.

If you like Jim Butcher, Michael Anderle, K.F. Breene, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, or Steve McHugh…you’ll have a blast with the first book in the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department.

Questions for John P. Logsdon
Q: What do you enjoy most about writing the Paranormal Police Department?
A: It’s fun and irreverent. I get to travel around inside the head of a police chief who is young, powerful, loaded with snark, and is great with the ladies. At the same time, he seriously cares about everyone on his squad. Basically, he’s a badass cop who gives a crap.

Q: Why should readers want to jump into the world of the Paranormal Police Department?
A: A few reasons, actually. It’s high-action, often hilarious, and just plain fun. On top of that, there are multiple precincts in the PPD for readers to enjoy. So, while this series of books covers Ian Dex and the Las Vegas PPD, there are different lead characters running the PPD precincts in the Badlands, the Netherworld, New York, Seattle, Shadow, and Southeast Asia.

That means that readers who crave action and adventure are going to have tons of action-packed, laugh-out-loud stories to consume with a vengeance. We’re already over twenty books in and there’s a new book releasing every 2-3 weeks in 2018-2019.

Q: Anything else you’d like to leave readers with?
A: If you’re into naughty humor and high-octane adventures, you need to give the Paranormal Police Department a shot. That’s what all the authors in the PPD love to read, which means it’s also what we love to write.

This book is insane and follows the masked leaders thousand year story, this is no magic, this is nothing but science and how the plan was put together to end it all, to end the entire world around us. Watch and feel Michael as he struggles to stick to the ways of old whilst trying to catch up with the ways of new. Watch him scream at kings, dodge muskets, mould the war to end them all, fight in the second war that should have ended them all. All the time learning and creating, hiding and staying in the shadows, until he bursts into the new world with one of the most savage cliff hangers at the end of his adventure which leads into… The Cleansing Beyond; Almost ten years since the war first started, since the rioting in Paris and Berlin, since Steve sat in a helicopter not knowing what he was going toward. The United Kingdom has settled into clear factions, the cities that were predicted to be sparse in most apocalyptic stories, they are the complete opposite. Ravaging cannibals, groups of nations that got stuck in the country when the world fell, soldiers who have lost their path and beliefs, the masks somewhat there but at the same time more of a drifting memory inside every mind that lived through them. Beyond is unique for being a mental health orientated apocalyptic story in the wastelands, the fighting is still there, the death is still there, his mind still there and broken beyond all belief. Beyond also fills in the gaps from the previous books where time was passed over for various reasons, Beyond is a complete and utter decimation of a mind in a world that is long decimated. Grab my hand and jump into the most pain ridden, tear driving, fear quivering mental abyss you will ever read.

BE:: The Rise

by Jihad Uhuru

(((previously releases as DARK HORSE ASSASSIN: RISE OF THE MESSIAH)))) BE: The Rise is the 1st book in this trilogy. Although the label is fiction on this series the messages are very real. These stories are very graphic and eye-opening. Enjoy the journey. Now a look into what to expect from this revisioning of Revelations.

In light of having the 1st African-American as the 44th US President, racism is at an all time high. Greed and envy are running rampant in this 21st Century biblical Babylon. The almighty dollar reigns supreme and America is in complete disarray. Even God is being exploited for a dollar more than ever before. Now, as thousands are dying, America’s fate lies in the hands of two people.

From the drug and crime infested inner city streets a black male rises. His name is Zion, but many believe he is the key to saving America and the world from impending doom. Time is running out as the veil of darkness threatens to consume the Earth and all that inhabit the dying planet. With the help of twelve of the nation’s most prolific spiritual leaders, Zion and two friends risk their lives daily trying to redeem mankind while barely staying a step ahead of the world’s most powerful men – men who have two goals – destroy Zion and his friends, and world domination under a New World Order.

Will the greatest good triumph over supreme evil? Is there really a God? And if you have any questions to God’s purpose for hue-manity, by the time you finish reading the nail-biting suspense thriller BE trilogy you will have no doubt to what your purpose in this life is.

Girl Desecrated: Vampires, Asylums and Highlanders 1984 (The Fergus She Vampire Book Series 1)

by Cheryl R Cowtan

Rachel has an alternate personality.
Her alternative personality is named Scarlett.
Scarlett has fangs, a history, and a hankering for a Highlander.
Rachel is going to attempt an extraction.

Haunted by an abusive past, Rachel is alone, angry, and emotionally damaged. Worse, her mind has split, giving birth to Scarlett, a seductive alternate personality who does sinful things. When Scarlett slips out to play, people disappear. Rachel’s psychiatrist prescribes meds. Her mother wants an exorcism. Rachel just wants to be normal.

On her 18th birthday, a steamy encounter with sexy Highlander, Angus McNab ramps up Scarlett’s perverted desires, leaving Rachel struggling for control of their shared body.

Seeking a way to put her “other” down before Angus cuts and runs, Rachel starts to unravel the sinister truth of Scarlett. Tracing her alternate personality to the 1600s, Rachel reveals an ancient curse, unforgivable betrayals, and a forgotten, supernatural heritage.
In this menacing reality, Rachel learns there are worse things than madness. But there are also benefits to hosting a demon vampire–namely power. Can Rachel put Scarlett down and finally live a normal life, or will her temptation to use Scarlett’s mojo leave her bound to evil forever?
And when the battle reaches its peak, which femme fatale will Angus choose?

William 1600s — “Even dead, Scarlett seemed able to graft my thoughts onto yearnings a gentleman should never ever contemplate. But then again, no gentleman had ever lived a night wrapped in her cool limbs, savouring such sordid and delightful affections as I had. Scarlett’s attentions had raised me above God, but so help me, in no time she had thrown me down to the devil. And then, the killings had begun.”

Rachel 1984 — “Dragging the back of my hand along the varnished tabletop, the cracks in my knuckles picked up the American’s oily smear like little skin shovels. It would take just one sniff of my hand, and Donald’s scent would be imprinted on my mind, forever. It was a heady thought, as I forced myself not to inhale.”

If you like your decade to rock, your demons to bite, and your girls to kick it, then you are going to love this unforgettable story of Rachel as she faces off against The Fergus She.
Buy this book, now, and then hang on! You’re about to take a wild ride.

Out of Frame Anthologies

by Jack Lothian

The mind of an artist can be a landscape of imagination and wonder, but when it becomes unbridled, its genius can give into madness. If you were born with a talent for the arts, simply enjoy the world of the artists, or revel in suspenseful and psychological tales, you will find it hard to put this novel down.

In Out of Frame Anthologies, creativity is the thin red string that connects an actor, a novelist, a gallery painter, a surrealist, a creative writer and a sculptor. Six separate tales weaved by six uniquely-styled writers, each examining the darkness of imagination.

Red Hollows by Jack Lothian – In 80’s Hollywood fast and free culture, if an actor wants to retain his popularity, getting in touch with his killer instinct is a must.

Deadline by S. J. Sims – A writer can’t find her killer as writer’s block, a psychological adversary that no writer wants to face, threatens her looming Deadline.

Ouroboros by Rhiannon Robertson – At the brink of artistic corrosion, an artist ingests a Tab of magic that revitalizes his art but may be the gateway to death.

Don’t Call Me Crazy by Sarah Witt – A woman on the path to insanity experiences the ecstasy of art as she observes her alters. Their surreal macabre paintings are stimulating, but the mutilated corpses that they use to paint with electrifies her soul.

There Will Be Cookies by Oneiric Roper – A writer’s group is a place of sharing ideas, receiving feedback, and when this writer sits in the group, Death is there.

Common Clay by John M. Risner – An art student sees clay as a way to escape the perversion of her reality, but there are men in her life that want to destroy her artistic expression.

Following in the tradition of stories featuring tortured artists, like the books, John Fowles’ The Collector, and Stephen King’s The Shining, and also the films, Michael Powell’s Peeping Tom and David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, Out of Frame Anthologies offers a collection of shocking tales. Are you ready to glean insight into the yin and yang nature of beauty and horror that exists in every artist’s conflicted soul? There is no better time than now to submit to Out of Frame Anthologies and immerse yourself in its creative mania.

Papa’s Prisoner

by Alice Everly

A madman has been wreaking havoc for over two decades, unbeknownst to millions of people living around him. Lydia finds herself trapped in his wicked web and she is systematically forced to become Little Lydia.
After several years, Lydia is taken in by a kind and gentle man who promises to protect her. She’s certain she’ll be free to return home to her family at last.
Unfortunately, things aren’t always as easy as they seem, in life or in love. Lydia discovers that the very man who bought her freedom may be just as much of an enemy as the madman. Evil lurks in even the most innocent of places.
Lydia struggles with understanding why she’s so comfortable as Little Lydia rather than the independent adult she used to be.
As she works out her feelings, Lydia must come to terms with the shadows in her mind and decide if she really wants to remain Little Lydia after all.
Can Lydia overcome the demons that seem to be lurking around or will she be forever imprisoned in her own mind?
This book has a HEA, but it contains dark themes and depictions. Although this is a complete story, it will lead into other books. If you’re looking for a sweet Little romance then this isn’t the book for you! Lydia goes through plenty of dark and distressing experiences before she finds her HEA.

Beer & Meth: Inside Capitalist Czech Republic

by Jakub Ryska

So you get up every day at 7 a.m., slip into a traffic jam and get shouted at by your boss for ten hours. Maybe you dream of something bigger. Well, you might be delighted to know that there’s a country where people do all that for $1,200 a month. That place is the Czech Republicâ??birthplace of Donald Trump’s first wife, the words “robot” and “Budweiser,” and the very best methamphetamine in the whole world.

The writing duo Jakub Ryska and Pavel Splichal have earned cult status through their outrageous and surgically precise descriptions of such a place and the fights, dreams, and desperation of its middle class. For seven years on their blog they managed to offend possibly every social group in the country, including naive university graduates, marketing nerds, daddy’s darlings, car tuning enthusiasts, and esoterica devotees, but also failed artists and self-proclaimed intellectuals working in call centers.

Their articles have attracted millions of readers and the attention of the mainstream Czech media. Their book, Ã?vod do současné trapnosti (“Introduction to Contemporary Awkwardness”), has been nominated for multiple literary awards, winning none of them, presumably because of its harsh language and total lack of regard towards the Czech literary and cultural establishment.

And because the zealousness of the middle class knows no bounds, the book is now available to you right now. This essential manual for surviving school, work, and the unemployment office is also a great gift for all the people you don’t likeâ??especially those you’re too afraid to tell openly how much they get on your nerves.

From Jarrow to Java

by Joe Writeson

A book based on some of the unique characters and situations encountered in the course of a large construction project in East Java during a crucial time in Indonesia’s history .

The cast includes all the usual suspects Europeans, Australians, Americans etc. but the starring roles are Indonesians.

Centred around the building of an Independent Power Plant consisting of eight coal-fired power stations, distribution system and extensive infrastructure with over ten thousand employees at the height of construction activities.

The account is based around the job, the impact on the area, the people, the ladies, the pubs, the problems, the perceptions…and misconceptions. Featuring an introduction to Javanese customs and culture plus their effect on interaction between expats and locals, including the often weird and wonderful way that Indonesians view foreigners ….plus how some Westerners behave when given the ‘keys to the sweetie shop’

The timescale covers immediately before, during and after the downfall of the Soeharto regime.

A lot of the characters recur throughout the stories, some of the chapters are linked or cross referenced.

All of the names have been changed and some players and scenarios are a sum of several people or events, on reflection I have removed some altogether to protect the innocent and prevent the guilty from repercussions by angry wives, girlfriendsâ?¦and mothers.

These are all my own work and based on actual events that I was directly involved in or witnessed personally, no hearsay, urban legends or second hand gossip.

Although based in Indonesia the anecdotes will appeal to anyone who would like to expand their social and geographical boundaries, and just possibly gain an insight into just how other people live, laugh, endure and survive
