And of Childhood Memories Are We Created (Works by Carolyn Bentley Book 2)

by Carolyn Bentley

Short Excerpt: “Just this past month I found another person, Rolf Carle, who has experienced a situation similar to my own, “never suspecting that he would find a fragment of his past lost thirty years before” (15). I found Rolf in a short story by Isabel Allende. In her story, “And of Clay Are We Created”, Rolf Carle, a TV news reporter, who is amazingly detached from his work and the horrors he sees, comes across a cover story that dramatically changes his life…”

Here a Little, There a Little: 52 Lesson Plans of Qualities/Concepts from Scripture to Teach Young Children

by Sheilah Daws

This book actually is a compilation of lesson plans I created years ago to intentionally and continually throughout each day establish God’s Word in the hearts of our preschool children, even beginning when they were just newborns. As I observed my children, I would determine what character quality needed attention the next week or what concept I wanted them to learn. I spent Sunday afternoon making a lesson plan to teach that, starting with finding a scripture for the week that addressed the issue. Then I found Bible stories, books, songs, videos, etc to reinforce it. I sometimes put the Bible verse to familiar tunes to help with memorizing. I came up with activities to practically teach the quality or concept.

DNA Citizenship Test: Capitalism & DACA Dreamers

by Chuck Hirschbeck

Paternity test has unexpected results.
Esteban has moved back and forth between New York and Mexico since before he can remember. He is interested in becoming a pro baseball player but understands that unless a scout sees him pitch he won’t get a shot. His fastball is a little too slow for the Pros and lacks that pin-point accuracy but he is a southpaw and every team needs a left-handed pitcher. Other options – more realistic, include joining the Army or to go as far as he can in school. Maybe baseball could grant him a scholarship.
He is popular, equally with the girls and the boys but does not seem to find his luck with girls because he is nervous about all the rules of dating – unsure how to behave. Light skinned with brown hair, people mistake who he is when going on interviews because they think someone with his name would look darker. He will be surprised by a DNA test, soon. This test will change his self-identity.
