Responsive Dementia Care: Fewer Behaviors Fewer Drugs

by Helen Buell Whitworth

Dementia-related behaviors are common with all types of dementia but often start early with Lewy body dementia (LBD). Most experts recommend the use of non-drug options prior to resorting to behavior management drugs which, especially with LBD, can and often does cause other problems. Responsive dementia care is a method for doing this. It uses understanding of how the brain works coupled with empathy, acceptance and a wide variety of alternative therapies to avoid, decrease and/or defuse these difficult behaviors. With the understanding that these behaviors as result of faulty thinking that once present, cannot be changed, care partners and care staff learn to relate with the person living with dementia in such a way that decreases the need for behavior management drugs while increasing quality of life for anyone involved. Necessary reading for all dementia care partners and for anyone working with dementia patients.

Break Up Depression: Why Itâ??s Healthy To Feel The Full Range Of Human Emotions (Fear Loneliness Depression Girls Guys Men Women Love Relationships Rock … Abyss Apart Fall Lose Fail Confidence Joy)

by Meiso

You may be feeling and asking yourself these questions after a break-up and that’s very common. It’s totally normal. Don’t worry you’re not alone. You may be confused, angry, lonely, sad, and depressed. Days seem to take much longer and nothing seems to go your way. Your body and mind can feel numb and exhausted. You’re out of energy all the time. So how do we get OVER a breakup?

My first advice is to learn to accept it and to be okay with it. Understand that everyone goes through these and that it’s part of life. It’s not enjoyable but just remember that these hardships will HELP you GROW and DEVELOP into a stronger person. It was in my darkest times where I GREW the most. It was in these times where I LIVED outside of my comfort zone where I grew the most. Always remember to never give up and that having these negative feelings and thoughts are COMMON. YOU’RE NOT ALONE.

The second advice I’d give is to GO OUTSIDE and find things to do. Take the first couple days to cry and feel sorry for yourself, but after a couple days or a week you need to keep your mind occupied. Find a hobby or a new passion to get into. I like to think of it as having a pie chart. If you’re at home moping, crying, and feeling sorry for yourself, thinking about the break up will take up 100% of your thoughts. By picking up a hobby, let’s say hiking, you can decrease how often you think about the break up and eventually with time get over it.

Nobody is going to go through the pain for you. Realize that you’re going to have support from friends and family, but in the end how YOU respond to this situation is 100% on YOU. You can either learn and grow from it or you can stay indoors and mope around all day. It’s going to be TOUGH but I know you can pull through it. Just take it one day at a time.

Advice number three would be to USE THIS NEGATIVE ENERGY as fuel and motivation to KICK BUTT. You’re angry and upset. Good, use it towards improving yourself. Use it to make sure you do everything in your power to reach the HIGHEST potential you can go towards. Use it to improve your mental and physical health. Make sure your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend made a HUGE mistake by cheating on you or letting you go. Become the ULTIMATE version of yourself and that alone will be a huge WIN. Clean up your diet. Clean up your thoughts. Pick up a hobby. Increase your income. There are so many things you can improve on. Take it a day at a time and learn to be okay with the entire range of emotions.

If you need to, speak with a professional therapist. Don’t feel embarrassed to schedule an appointment. First of all, you can keep it private so that nobody finds out. Secondly, do WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO to survive and to plow forward in life. Life will throw punches and beat you down constantly. It wont be fair, but it’s how you learn to adapt and continue to push forward that will make you thrive in these circumstances. Depression after a brеаk uÑ? is a rеаl Ñ?оÑ?Ñ?ibilitÑ? аnd it’s a good idea to learn hоw tо соÑ?е with it. Please take it seriously.

Lastly, take this time to have some inner exploration. Everyone deals with hardships differently. Figure out the best way for you to get over a break-up. It can be a great opportunity to reflect back on your life and do everything that you may feel you missed out on. If it helps, take a vacation somewhere. Take that road trip across the country. Go skydiving. Do something different that you don’t normally do.

Just remember, it’s not going to be an easy path. It’s going to be difficult and there may be times when you want to quit. Always remember that you have SO MUCH more to live for and that brighter days will come ahead if you don’t quit and give up. YOU GOT THIS!

Level Up: How to Man Up and Excel When Society and Role Models Have Let You Down

by Sage Wilcox

Are Good Role Models Important?

Unfortunately, being a man of character is not something that is taught in school. A lot of young men haven’t been taught how to be a man; a man of good character and integrity. Unless one has the rare opportunity of being raised by such a man, then the odds are slim that these traits will naturally be passed on. This book can help all who choose to read it. Author Sage Wilcox’s research on this subject is vast and Wilcox has dedicated years to trying to discover what is needed to make all close relationships thrive. The characteristics that make a man a man can help carry and lead anyone to the top.

So, what are the qualities that make a man, and how does one obtain them?

Buy now and start living your full potential!

With this book you will:
*Learn what the main traits are that make a man a real man
*See that a lack of good role models is extremely damaging
*Discover the difference between a boy and a man
*Find that everyone has the potential to man up
*Excel in life and realize how rewarding it is to be a man

So, what are the qualities that make a man, and how does one obtain them? As I work and talk with more and more people and families through the years, I’ve discovered that we have a lot to learn, men and women alike. Although I may put together a book, in the future, geared towards women, this book can help all who choose to read it. My research on this subject is vast and I’ve dedicated years to trying to discover what is needed to make all close relationships thrive.

The characteristics that make a man a man can help carry and lead anyone to the top. In today’s society, more and more parents have to work more than one job simply to make ends meet. Where does this leave the children? It leaves them in the hands of busy daycare providers more and more of the time. Teachers and daycare providers, unfortunately, do not have the necessary one on one time needed to devote to each of these growing children. They also don’t have the opportunity to be an example in the outside world. Yes, kids can learn a lot in a classroom, but there’s a lot more to life, and if the parents aren’t around (because they are working two or three jobs) then children lose out on important life learning opportunities.

What I’ve found, more and more, is that a lot of young men haven’t truly been taught how to be a man; a man of good character. We have spent far too much time looking at man from the perspective of his sexuality and not enough time looking at him as part of something greater. This book walks through the steps that look at each characteristic endowment that man inherently has and the characteristics that he can build on top of that so that he can find fulfillment in his life by pursuing his purpose more effectively.

We all have dual purpose. One physical, and the other something far greater. The initial purpose is to form the basis of a family, which will launch the next generation, and to do that men must develop some of the characteristics that are based on the elements contained in the chapters of this book. This book is designed to stimulate your own thought and to come to terms with what it means to be a man in your own world. You have to look deep inside yourself and find the real meaning of YOU. Tear away all the gender roles that have been cast upon you, the bad examples you’ve experienced, the commercial advertisements that define you based on material gain, and vanity. Cast aside the superficial things that don’t matter and look at the things that really make a difference.

It may have been your fault that the relationship ended, actually it probably was according to her, but that’s okay; with this book, nothing is too damaged. You may feel like winning her back is simple, just a few romantic gestures and you’re done, but there are a few secrets about women that you probably do not know. We can help you understand your soon-to-be-girlfriend in a few easy steps like seeing things through her eyes, knowing what she finds most attractive, and giving her the amount of attention she desires as to not push her further away. You don’t want to make the wrong move and demolish your chances with her even more, do you? Lucky for you, this process won’t take years to figure out – you can have her back in a month, tops! Any wound can be healed, any flame can be a fire; it just takes the right guide.
