The Trouble In Dogflat Hollow

by Cameron Sword

A gritty and mildly irreverent satire detailing a shocking account of how the Earth was nearly annihilated on January 1, 1990. Some of the names have been changed in order to further protect the privacy of fictitious persons involved. Other names, including those belonging to Biblical personalities, have also been changed in order to safeguard and preserve formal reputations.

A pair of Biblical figures descended into an unsavory Los Angeles neighborhood, tasked with locating and redeeming the worst soul on the planet, hoping their efforts, if successful, might help convince the Universe’s Chief Executive Officer to cancel or delay Earth’s scheduled demise. They were clearly warned that their efforts should, in no way, interfere with that outcome, unaware that their endeavor – and that outcome – were indelibly linked.

The tone of the novel, described cinematically, might be as follows: If you dropped ‘Oh God’ and ‘The Big Lebowski’ into a blender at puree speed, the contents might emulsify into The Trouble In Dogflat Hollow.

Youngblood: A Post-Apocalyptic Thriller (The Youngblood Saga Book 1)

by H. Peter Alesso

Youngblood was an eighteen-year-old computer whiz when his father placed him in hibernation to await a cure for his disease. But when he woke a century later, he was gasping for breath in a deserted underground bunker.

The post-apocalyptic world he found was divided between the valley settlers who lived a subsistence existence and their mountain dwelling overlords who reaped all the benefits of a 22nd Century lifestyle.

Seventeen-year-old orphan, Kira, was a kick-ass huntress who knew how to survive in this environment. So when Youngblood was attacked by survivalists and left for dead, she saved him and together they struggled to unite people while searching for the remnants of their past civilization and a cure for his disease.

After such global devastation–one thing was certain–only a man from another century could reignite hope.

I Am Not A Robot!

by Bruce Hartman

In the three years since this book was published under its original title, BIG DATA IS WATCHING YOU!, Silicon Valley has advanced its agenda of world domination to the point where many of the author’s observations no longer seem fanciful or amusing. For this reason, the publisher has moved the title to its Non-Fiction list. If it reads like a fantasy, that is because fantasy is now the only permissible form of truth.

It’s way past 1984. Your toothbrush, your coffee pot and your Rice Krispies are running your life. And you can’t access your screen unless you declare: I AM NOT A ROBOT !

Welcome to Google Earth®, a dystopia where the all-knowing and all-powerful force of Big Data rules humanity through the Internet of Things and the corporate power of Google Inc.

Where English® and every possible combination of words has been copyrighted and the only law is the Terms of Service, which have been replaced by the Terms of Servitude.

Where the proudly psychopathic Higgs, Caesar and Emperor Omnipotent (CEO) of Google Inc., is determined to launch the Next Big Thing.

Smith, a happy native of this paradise, wanders off the grid and discovers sex®, the knowledge of good and evil, and the pursuit of Happiness. Can he save the human race from the Next Big Thing?

Excerpt from the publisher’s introduction to this revised 2018 edition:

“We expect that [the book] will be ruthlessly suppressed [by the corporations mentioned in it]. Not only will it be deleted from the internet: it will become permanently irretrievable and invisible to all search engines â?? in other words, it will never have existed. Thus we offer this first revised edition with the urgent recommendation that it be purchased immediately, read quickly, and committed to memory if any doubt remains in the reader’s mind that the conditions described in the book are coming to pass. Although the word “comic” has been omitted from the subtitle, we hope that until the Satirical Singularity occurs (and this will be a measure of how close that moment is) the attentive reader will find something to smile at in the book.”

Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy

by Steven Campbell

Hank is a thug. He knows he’s a thug. He has no problem with that realization. In his view the galaxy has given him a gift: a mutation that allows him to withstand great deals of physical trauma. He puts his abilities to the best use possible and that isn’t by being a scientist.

Besides, the space station Belvaille doesn’t need scientists. It is not, generally, a thinking person’s locale. It is the remotest habitation in the entire Colmarian Confederation. There is literally no reason to be there.

Unless you are a criminal.

Because of its location, Belvaille is populated with nothing but crooks. Every day is a series of power struggles between the crime bosses.

Hank is an intrinsic part of this community as a premier gang negotiator. Not because he is eloquent or brilliant or an expert combatant, but because if you shoot him in the face he keeps on talking.

Hank believes he has it pretty good until a beautiful and mysterious blue woman enters his life with a compelling job offer.

Hank and Belvaille, so long out of public scrutiny, suddenly find themselves at the epicenter of the galaxy with a lot of very unwelcome attention.

Julie Winor is sure of everything. She is the Director of Academy at the Academy of Celestial Training after all. The academy is tasked with exploring the universe and keeping young societies from going extinct. They are barred from procreation or any behavior that morphs them into a normal society. This is how the academy’s population is maintained.

But Julie has a secret.

In her younger years, and while on a mission to a young society, Earth, she created a child that she was forced to leave behind. Though she constantly pushes guilt to the back of her mind, it rises to the surface when she is mysteriously poisoned and fears she will die. Sidestepping the rules of the academy, she sends an officer to retrieve her son, Allen. However, after bringing Allen to the academy, she discovers she has placed him in grave danger.
