Of Screams and Dreams : Volume 1: A collection of poetry

by Kerry John Furber

I was 14 when I wrote my first poem, 61 when I wrote my latest. In between, I’ve scribbled down, typed up and word-processed hundreds of the things – almost all of which materialised out of nowhere when a voice somewhere off in the back of my head said, “There’s a poem in the breech”, and incredibly, when that happened, there always was. I never set out to write poetry, never wistfully perched upon windswept cliffs, didn’t hatch a plan, inwardly ruminate or even outwardly edit. They just happened, well most of them did, anyway. They were what they were, captured in minutes like diary entries, and etched out on paper for none to see, except me. That was until the 1990’s, when the dawning of the cyber era, meant that I could hang them out to dry on a giant washing line, stretched out across the sky.

Like thousands of poets around the globe, I left them there for anyone to see and, over time, became enthused – and sometimes bemused, by the enthusiastic (or otherwise) comments of other like-minded souls, ploughing their poetic furrows into the cold, damp, consuming, dirt. Over time, I came to know some truly great cybernautic poets, poets as talented and inspiring as any in the history of the scribbled art, and it is some of they who’ve encouraged me to publish my jottings in more tangible, public, form.

So, here it is: Volume One of my two-part anthology â??of screams and dreams.’ It matters not to me if it sells a bucket load or else drowns, deep down, in the well. What matters is that I wrote these words – usually about huge things. They are as close to the inside of me as you can get without being a surgeon or a pathologist. These words are my life, my sight and, most importantly, my invisible friend.

This poetry collection spans the period 2008 to 2017.

Writing Emotions

by Rachal Denton

If you ask anyone they would say how difficult it is expressing their feelings. Expressing oneself is tough enough, but trying to convey those feelings is even harder. This book of poems was written from my own experiences. The purpose of this book is to inspire others that struggle with expressing their feeling.

Poseía Poesía: Poemario (Spanish Edition)

by Alberto Morate

«un estilo poetico espectacular»

Books&books

SINOPSIS:

Between The Lines: Volumes of Words Unspoken

by Céline Zabad

How does one describe a feeling? Some say there are no words that can perfectly reproduce one’s feelings in anotherâ??but poetry comes close.

Written with incredible honesty and self-knowledge, Between the Lines is a stunning collection of poems from Céline Zabad. Ranging in length from a single line to full pages, her poems mimic at once the brevity and vastness of feeling. Her verse is at times as free as a cloud, other times as solid as stone. Her words are philosophies and feelings in their own rights, on love, loss, loyalty, betrayal, hope, and disappointmentâ??on life.

Zabad encapsulates the thrill of love’s first blush and the freezing burn of heartbreak. Her feelings flow freely throughout the collection, lending her poetry uncommon authenticity and power. Nature thrives between the lines of her verse, reminding the reader that tears are as natural as raindrops.

Whether you’re looking for new ways to think about your own feelings or are simply passionate about poetry, you’ll find plenty to love in this collection. To better understand the complexities of emotion in yourself and others, you must read Between the Lines.

Vidas (Spanish Edition)

by Mónica Pastor

Vida.

There Is a Field

by Barbara Conrad

THERE IS A FIELD bears witness to many voices, many livesâ??and the interconnectedness of those lives with one another and with the natural world. Woven in the collection are the author’s personal stories, ghostly memories and reflections on social and environmental concerns. Some of these poems dazzle, some burn. Whether the focus is a trust fall fiasco at summer camp, a landfill on Green Turtle Cay, racial realities of the ’60s, a lonely whale or a bullfrog’s response to urban renewal, these poems will linger past the page. “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,” said Rumi, “there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” In this book, the poet has created such a field.
