Schläft immer dort, wo ihn der Abend einholt. Isst überall und alles, was umsonst oder billig gibt: in Suppenküchen, billige Kekse und überreife Bananen aus den verschiedenen Läden, entsorgtes Obst, Gemüse, Tortenreste aus den Müllcontainern der Supermärkte, Verschiedenes aus dem Lebensmittelhilfsprogramm für Indianer und, und… Beobachtet die Menschen, die Natur, die Gesellschaft und sich selbst, sucht Abenteuer und menschliche Nähe, und findet sie in den verschiedensten Situationen. Er ist offen und unbekümmert, was in vielen Situationen Gefahr von ihm abwendet, aber auch wundersame Begegnungen und Freundschaften beschert.
Der Titel bezieht sich auf die Ernährung: meist billige Kekse und auf die Menge â??Kraut”, das die Leute überall um ihn herum konsumieren und Rock´n´Roll gibt überall: auf der StraÃ?e, auf Partys und in den Köpfenâ?¦.

…Da biegt auf einmal ein Polizeiwagen um die Ecke, schleicht sich schön gemütlich an uns heran. Die beiden Polizisten drehen die Seitenscheibe herunter, und als sie uns erreichen, bleiben sie fast stehen, aber nur fast, dabei lächeln sie mit dem Wissen, dass sie hier jetzt am wenigsten willkommen sind, so gleiten sie gemächlich weiter und verschwinden wieder an der nächsten Ecke. Für einen Moment hat es allen den Atem verschlagen, die Joints wurden hastig ausgemacht oder in den Mund gesteckt, und der Rauch wurde einbehalten. Kaum ist aber der Wagen von der Szene, fangen alle an zu husten und zu krächzen, und wie sie einander anblicken, viehisch übereinander zu kichern, was die geräucherten Kehlen zu noch mehr Husten reizt, sodass am Ende alle röcheln. Ich bin der einzige, der nur lacht.
Die Truppe kommt langsam, lachend zur Tagesordnung zurück, was natürlich die neuerliche Anzündung der Joints bedeutet. Kaum sind aber die ersten Züge getan, erscheinen die Polizisten abermals, und die Szene wiederholt sich haargenau, mit dem Ergebnis, dass anschlie�end keiner mehr etwas anzündet, sondern alle darauf warten, dass die Blaumänner erneut vorbeikommen. Aber nun, kommen die Jungs nicht mehr.
