You should probably take very little of it seriously.

Night Shift (The Night Trilogy Book 1)

by B.K. Bass

In New Angeles, crime is part of the daily business of running the city. But when a routine murder investigation starts turning up more questions than answers, homicide detective Harold Peterson finds himself unraveling a decades-old conspiracy that leads him to the highest echelons of the mob and the city government. As various threads start to come together, the big picture is revealed to be more than he ever bargained for. As bullets start to fly from both directions, the only thing Harold knows for sure is that he isn’t being paid enough to deal with this.

Praise for Night Shift:

“This gritty tale pulled me into the world of noir detective epics. The writer seamlessly pulls off a 1940’s feel in a futuristic setting, resulting in a fun, nostalgic & engrossing read.”

Jill Squire on Amazon – 5 Stars

“From the outset, Bass nails the noir tone, building a near future New Angeles out of grime, crime, and disparity. The dialogue is witty and natural, the crime setup is classic pulp, and his protagonist is charismatic enough to cover the fact he is mostly unlikable.”

Chad Christy on Amazon – 5 Stars

“I laughed. I cried. I examined the story. I fell in love and became so involved I forgot I was reading and became one with the story. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for part 2â?¦very creative and fun story.”

Phebe Yawson on Amazon – 5 Stars

“This is a well written book with compelling characters. BK did a wonderful job of building a believable in-depth world. His voice and descriptions added richness to a well-crafted tale. Unlike many detective novels, I didn’t find the plotline predictable. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing.”

Crystal Kirkham on Goodreads – 5 Stars

“What’s not to like about this book? It’s fast-paced, funny, dark and a real page turner. Night Shift is a unique combination of sci-fi and crime story. Looking forward to Book 2 of the trilogy so I can find out what happened to the main character.”

Willie Handler on Goodreads – 5 Stars

“This page turner kept me guessing all the way to the end, through twists and turns of descriptive settings you are drawn into a world that blossoms in your mind.”

Michael Nadeau on Goodreads – 5 Stars

“Bass builds an engaging world in few words and drags the reader in. His characters are vivid against the cyberpunk world of New Angeles. I couldn’t put down this novella and when I got to the end, I was asking where’s the next one!?”

R. Leaf on Amazon – 5 Stars

“[B.K. Bass] makes you feel as if you are in the story. His imagination is so descriptive that you can smell, feel, and taste the environment. You also feel as if you are walking in the detectives shoes and living his life.”

May on Goodreads – 5-Stars

“B.K. has woven a story laced with humor, sci-fi, and leaves you expectant of the next book in the trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed Nightshift. Five-stars!”

K.D. McNiven on Amazon – 5 Stars

“This novella kept me gripped from the dark beginning to the darker end. I need more, and I can’t wait for the sequel. All the best parts of noir and crime in a real and futuristic world. The MC, though rough around the edges and a little bitter, was still hugely likable and I rooted for him even when his actions were questionable at best. The mystery kept me guessing, and the following books will no doubt answer all the questions I still have.”

Kati Felix on Goodreads – 4 Stars

Audi and Jane strike a deal with Evan. If The Crowned Confederacy is willing to help them assassinate Marten Gunther Vogel and let them out of the planet safely, they will assist Evan in defeating Eisenross and advance into the capital. As ethereal monsters prepare to ravage Rome, Jonah is the only thing in the way of the ancient city being bathed in lifeblood. His survival depends on him confronting the one thing he never thought he’d have to.

His past.

Lifeblood is a standalone novel, and can be enjoyed even if you haven’t read other books in the series.

The Pattern Ship (The Pattern Universe Book 1)

by Tobias Roote

“This is not your usual alien vs humanity novel”

You have to feel sorry for an alien who wakes up on Earth after hibernating for millennia only to find his own race gone – destroyed centuries earlier by a ruthless hive of artificial intelligence. All that remains are humans, who have yet to evolve sufficiently to bypass their own shortcomings and unify as a race to work toward a common goal.

The alien, Zirkos, chooses to befriend a US Vet named Zeke Callaghan who possesses a rare component he needs to complete his spaceship’s revival – an exotic meteor fragment currently buried in Zeke’s head. A bond is forged between the two bringing with it remarkable technological advances in personal safety and an end to humanity’s incessant demand for war. The breakthrough ultimately proves a catalyst to launch humanity into space.

From there events quickly take on a life of their own as the duo battle to bring Earth to a state of readiness to defend them from the approaching threat of ‘The Nubl’.

Super Secret Space Mission: A Sci Fi Comedy

by Chris Lowry

In a hilarious case of mistaken identity, a hitchhiking cowboy and the motormouth city slicker that picks him up accidentally get shot into outer space to take back Earth’s super secret defense ship, the LUCAS from alien invaders. These fish ain’t just out of water, they’re up in space and getting it all wrong trying to do the right thing.

They accidentally stumble across one of America’s biggest secrets. There’s a Space Force dedicated to protecting the planet from intergalactic threats. The largest and only star ship in the fleet, The Lucas is off trajectory and headed back to earth after a routine patrol mission beyond the rings of Saturn.

But instead of the two highly trained super soldiers the Space Force planned to send in a stealth shuttle to infiltrate, evaluate and rescue, Carver and Dawes are bundled up in suits and shot into outer space to save the world.

If you’re into THE MARTIAN and STAR TREK, then you might not like this fast funny read. The science may not be right, though I did the whole “compressed air for thrust” way back in 1999, so I know that’s correct, and the situation is more like a comedy than an action film. If you liked GALAXY QUEST, then you’ll like this book.

If you like your heroes tough and dumb and still able to get the job done, you’ll enjoy this book. If you think smart strong women make better astro mechanics than men, you’ll have fun reading this, hello fans of SERENITY. And that’s the key isn’t it, having a little fun.

Space Travel is dangerous. Elon Musk just announced a plan to put a colony on Mars by 2025 and that colonists should be prepared to die. Space is not a nice place for human beings. Especially since Pluto is no longer a planet and now there might be a Planet Nine or Dark Planet, not to mention all the dark matter that makes up 98% of the Universe that we don’t know anything about. SUPER SECRET SPACE MISSION is the first in a series of science fiction books that talk about the subject everyone is afraid to mention with the Mars Expedition. What if we get there and we’re not alone?

The Licks hail from deep space. Maybe the Dark Planet. They’re nine feet tall with lizard faces and alligator skins and they have their eyes set on earth. How did they find us? We keep shooting radio signals into outer space, inviting all sorts of advanced beings to visit us and never once thinking about what happened to the Natives when they waved Columbus ashore in 1492.

But that war is for another book. PHALANX, the second in the series.

This one is funny. It will make you laugh out loud.
